There's not really much to do once you break about 1,000km height and you're still going 2,000m/s+. You just keep flying away from the Kearth. I've started to enjoy putting different kinds of ships into orbit instead. Putting just a capsule into orbit is pretty easy, but you're almost gauranteed an erratic loop and you can't adjust it later on in the day in case it messes up too much and you start to fall. It's best if you can manage to keep at least one fuel tank once you achieve a solid orbit so you can adjust later on. I really would like to achieve a near perfect circle orbit. That or you can really push it. Go up to like 500km and then orbit at at like 2000m/s. If you go really slow up high, btw, your orbits take longer. Generally going higher increases orbit time, but makes orbiting easier. Circular orbits require close to perfect speeds, tho. I mostly just play with eliptical ones. I had an unstable intermediate stage and tried adding wings, but that just made the rocket go crazy in stage 1 flight. I guess the wings were above the Cg, which could cause madness.
