Last Raven Portable PvP/PvE Teaser

I finally found the right key mapping to get fully functional dual analog control, but I'm not able to map my lock reset to one button, nor am I able to map weapon drops to the keyboard, because the current mapping disables weapon drops.

Is there any workaround or better setup to this? I might consider playing if I can solve those issues, though the locked 30fps and motion blur is really annoying. Kai would still be ideal.

You can map more than 1 in-game action to a button, or vice-versa. The game expects you to look left and right to purge, so just have another button dedicated to looking one direction, and then move the joystick the other direction while you purge. Same goes for look reset.

It's a simple solution, but you have to spend a bit of time remembering which buttons are mapped to what thing while you set it. I recommend writing it down while you're messing with the settings so you can check to make sure you got it right.

Or you could map all of the buttons needed to purge a weapon to a keyboard key or an unused controller button.

The way you have it set in-game only matters in terms of allowing purge or not. Any in-game setting can be changed into any other setting through ppsspp, but in-game determines whether or not you can purge.

I'll try to include a custom control scheme with both analog sticks, purging, and L2/R2 with the download.

I think they nerfed ECM in the portable version, having 1100 ecm vs 800 resistance doesn't mess with lock on, and with Kangi+VS Ecm tuning any build can hit 500-800 vs ecm without equipping radars. I got some play with helamasa today, and it seems to be somewhat fair.

THESE ARE ALL THE KNOWN ISSUES WITH LAST RAVEN PORTABLE SO FAR:

Things that require non-default settings to fix permanently: (I will include alt settings in the next download version to solve these)

1. If your computer is weak, the game will run super choppy. Turn down rendering resolution for this from 4x (1080p) to 2x or lower. (720p/480p) to fix.

2. Direct3D backend is faster on most PCs, but doesn't work on all computers, so if you switch to it, you can get an error message, forcing you to use OpenGL. Post processing shaders only work on openGL.

3. The default controls suck, and require players to set custom controls in PPSSPP and in-game to play with dual analog support and L2/R2.

4. To go online you have to randomize your in-game mac address so you don't have the same one as other players

Issues that require a fix each time they happen: (I will include a troubleshooting guide in the next download for these)

1. If you map 2 buttons on your controller to do the same action in-game, it will throw off your replays. To solve, remove that mapping to watch the replays, then add the mapping back in when you're ready to play.

2. Sometimes Coldbird.net will blink on and off and boot people for no reason from the network. You can tell because the status page won't reload properly. To solve, exit ppsspp and reload.

Issues that have no known solution: (still working on these...)

1. Connecting to players across countries (EU and NA, for example) creates a lot of network lag that slows the game. You can still play, but the game runs at 75-50% speed. It is worse on larger maps.

2. There seems to be an issue with some players computers not accepting incoming game connections, either due to firewall or port forwarding issues, that I haven't been able to fix. It's happened to 2 players that I get 1 or 2 good games with, and then afterwards I can't connect to them at all no matter what.

Example: Player 1 hosts, and Player 2 can see their lobbies when searching, but can't join ("unable to join" or game freezes) but Player 2 still sees them enter the lobby. If Player 2 hosts, then Player 1 cannot find any lobbies available. This is the only truly game-breaking issue I've found, because once it starts happening, I haven't been able to play with that player at all.

I think it's a port issue, but I haven't had enough players set it up so that I can diagnose it yet.

Full video of my fights vs Helamasa are up, plus highlights:

You should be able to figure out how to do it on your own for now while I work on more comprehensive troubleshooting documents/guides for later.

Change your in-game settings to whatever allows purging and look reset (in-game control settings do not matter otherwise), and then map your controller so that the face button you want for look reset corresponds to both of the buttons in-game for look reset.

Example, in-game look reset is triangle + X, you want square, so you map in PPSSPP square to triangle and x simultaneously. Now Square = look reset.

Make sure you download the .zip file from the setup guide video, if you download the normal PPSSPP without installing the workaround that the .zip comes with, the game will crash.

I should have a readme with all the known issues, troubleshooting, and different control schemes soon.

Can you get confirmation from that other DS4 user who said his lockbox diagonal movement was working. I followed the instructions for installing and setting up the DS3 SCP Server, but my computer doesn't even recognize the PS3 controller as a USB controller in the first place.

Haven't gotten confirmation yet, and I'll add it to the list of unconfirmed/known issues in the next release.

For the record, you need the controller connected via USB with all 4 lights blinking ("charging"), you need all DS3tool/motioninjoy drivers/software uninstalled, and you need the most up to date x360 drivers.

Try resetting the controller's bluetooth handle by pressing the little button on the back of the controller first, connect via USB, get all 4 lights blinking (Playstation® controller should appear in device list or something) then run SCP driver then SCP server.

Yup, I've made sure anything motioninjoy or ds3 was uninstalled, followed the directions exactly on installing the scpserver. Xbox drivers are most up to date.

Reset the bluetooth on the back of my controller, when I connect the controller to windows I get all 4 lights flashing, windows gives me a chime to let me know the controller is connected, and the controller comes up as Playstation ® on the connected devices list. However, it doesn't come up on the usb game controller list for windows.

I run scp driver, and install the necessary drivers. Then I turn on scp server, it takes a while but eventually the controller is detected by it, and is connected as pad1.

Start up the emulator, and nothing. Take a look at the usb controller list on windows 10, and the controller is still not listed.
