#1. I'd begin drawing down regular forces in Afghanistan. I'd put the primary combat load on U.S. Special Forces/Operations (who are more than capable of handling the combat mission in Afghanistan). I'd retain a presence of regular forces to act as trainers and advisers to the Afghans until they feel confident enough to step up to the plate, for maintaining security, and push them on getting there. I would get some folks together to help Afghanistan capitalize on it's trillion dollar mineral resources, prime goal being to have secure control over the mineral rich regions.

#2. I would continue with the draw-down in Iraq, leaving another contingent of Special Operations there to help with counter-insurgency, and probably a small regular presence to continue with military training in Iraq. As a side-note, I'd kill Qaddafi and leave Libya to Europe.

#3. I would see if possible, to restructure the military under one administrative system, I can leave the branches; but one system of rank, uniforms, and paper or electronic records. I would also pursue a stronger policy on fraud, waste, and abuse. And I would probably do something different with the reserves and national guard.

#4. I would close the tax loopholes that benefit multinational corporations, raise capital gains taxes to ~40%. I would also bring back inheritances taxes and estate taxes for inheritances and estates more than $100k, with higher rates for inheritances and estates more than $500k, $1-100m and above. I would give thought to a fair tax once the wealth disparity had been somewhat equalized, but not before then.

#5. I would immediately stop funding most of the governments we fund in the Middle East, to include Israel. I would issue formal apologies for our actions inside the internal affairs of sovereign nations, like the Shah or Iran, propping up Hosni Mubarak, etc.. I'd place corporate sanctions on companies that do business with North Korea and nations that do business w/ North Korea like Burma. I would also halt food aid to failed states like Somalia, it's no different than trying to bail out bankrupt corporations.

#6. I would tell the Government of N. Korea that any acts of aggression towards our allies (to include China) will result in our nuclear might coming down full force on N. Korea, and that any further missile tests will be considered an act of war. I'd then follow through on those threats if tested. Obviously I'd let the rest of the world's nuclear powers know about this too. I would also be pursuing clandestine operations to destabilize and topple the N. Korean tyranny.

#7. I'd close up shop wherever logistically possible overseas, with regards to our military. I would also cut massively the spending on things the military does not need, until the economic certainty of America had been restored. The military installations would be stripped and sold to the native governments.

#8. I'd pursue nuclear energy, alongside renewable energy sources to reduce American dependency on oil and natural gas for infrastructural power. I'd give research grants to people like Craig Venter, and open back up stem cell research; particularly on adult stem cells.

#9. I'd push for political campaign finance reform, Congressional penchant and pay reform, lobbyist reform, and Corporate law reform.

#10. I'd see if I couldn't wipe out social security as an ongoing program. And replace medicare/medicaid with universal health-care.

#11. I'd strengthen the border security on both borders, and give state, local, and federal authorities the means to weed out illegal immigrants, and deport them. I would also reform the immigration and naturalization process, so that it doesn't take around a decade to get into this country.

#12. I'd push for stronger environmental protection laws prohibiting destructive and dangerous industrial practices. Like hydraulic fracking, the use of hydrofluouric acid to process crude oil, etc..

#13. I'd try to restructure the alphabet soup of the NSA, NRO, CIA, FBI, etc.. into a restructured Department of Homeland Security; to create a streamline system that works together, and has solid computer networking.

#14. I'd push for the legalization marijuana, and then all other controlled substances as a matter of personal liberty. No more DEA.

#15. I'd reform the laws involved with the control of the sale/purchase and ownership of firearms. I would also probably for all intents and purposes get rid of the ATF.

#16. I'd create a national ID database, the foundation on which will be based on DNA. Any genetic information would be kept secret, and used strictly as a virtually fool-proof system of identification.

#17. I'd balance the counter-terrorism budgets for the various states so that Wyoming does not get the same amount of CT funding as California.

#18. I'd spend a boat-load of money putting poor and unemployed Americans to work repairing our infrastructure.

#19. I'd also push massive grants to the study on Post-Traumatic Stress and methods for it's prevention, treatment, and mitigation.

#20. I would try to make all Internal Affairs for police departments, entirely separate bodies.
