A short rant on thick skin.

Shirtless Crackhead

I am honestly tired of how much people pander to other's hurt feelings and emotional weakness.

Now, I do care about the negative outcome of stuff like kids committing suicide due to bullying.

But the intelligent thing to do isn't to try and make being offensive or mean a crime, it's the parents' responsibility to instill enough self-confidence, self-respect, and self-reliance that such menial crap doesn't make people crack.

If some 17 year old hangs him/herself because the kids at school were mean, to be perfectly honest I think we are better for it. Such a pathetic waste of space wasn't worth the time in the first place.

Life is hard, unfair, uncaring, and it gives no fucks about you or your emotions.

To push for a secular society, we need to accept and come to terms with a world that doesn't care about us. It's not the end of the world.

Bad things happen to good people, good things happen to bad people; in basically the same proportion as vice versa, with exception given to systems of man-made Justice. The universe won't smile anymore on Josef Fritzl than it would Warren Buffett.

There was been this movement that somehow you cannot be mean, that you must treat everyone the same, with kindness and respect.

I don't want to see the fallout of that as a widely accepted social level, it would be like living in a hippie commune.

But go ahead, and when armed thugs take what they want from you, you'd better not bitch about it.

Pacifism is a fool's errand, in both political terms and trying to mold a social construct to the same.

If somebody can say something to you, and it gets to you; it's only because you are a weak minded simpleton who hasn't learned to control him/herself.

If you can't handle the world around you, it's not the world that needs to change, sometimes you just need to learn how to deal with it.
