Now this is very relavent to the 2012 Presidential Election, as Texas Gov. Rick Perry (90 and biscuit just facepalmed for the great state of Texas right there) was the Governor of Texas during the trial and had gotten personally involved with the case.

Governor Perry had replaced 3 of the 9 Texas Forensic Science Commission members, while the commission was attempting to file for a stay of execution due to the raised point that the "arson" conviction was based on faulty examination of the crime scene.

CNN Article (the source of the Wikipedia page's story)

So one has to wonder what kind of a douche-bag, switches out 3/9 TFSC members, and has a man who's criminal conviction is being doubted by the investigative body executed.

Let us not forget he's an Intelligent Design proponent, denies Evolution, Global Warming, etc.. etc..

He also holds Christian Prayer rallies with tax-payer money, to promote Christian fundamentalist political ideas, and also "solve" Texas's and America's problems. His call to prayer for the drought in Texas, btw, was a smashing success.

Let us also not forget Gov. Perry's involvement with the criminal cases of...

Jose Medellin & Humberto Leal Garcia (two Mexican nationals whom he executed)

I will even say something positive about Rick Perry, just for balance.

In 2007, he made an executive order that made it mandatory for Texas girls to receive the HPV vaccine. But the real reason behind this was at the time, Gardasil, the only HPV vaccine on the market was manufactured by Merck. Merck having donated $6,000 to Perry's re-election campaign and Merck hiring Perry's former Chief of Staff Mike Toomey to handle lobbying in Texas.

I'll also remind you that Rick Perry is by and large the Republican front-runner for the GOP in the 2012 election.

Scary shit, huh?
