Azure Knight
I'll be using this thread for both my traditional art and the Flash animation for the series. In short, Shattered Heaven is a novel series I started years ago. A 6 book series, in which 4 are done and I'm in the midst of the 5th. In 2007 I decided that I wanted to do an animated special of the series but figuring that it would take too long to release one full special I split it into an episodic series. It is a mech series, not Armored Core based. This is strictly an original series. The mech designs were influenced from both AC and Gundam and I used various mech series including Gundam to help me with animating the fight scenes. But, the writing came first, the art and designs after, so in no way was this influenced from Gundam. On Newgrounds I get tons of people just going on about how I "ripped off Seed Destiny's plot" when it's complete BS, and you can't even compare the two, but most do because there's mechs fighting like Gundam, so naturally the story is exactly the same since they involve mechs. Animated freely in Flash using voice actors, both amateur and some of which who have begun a professional career the series has released 2 full episodes and the first 2 scenes and a preview of the 3rd. Episodes can be found here: Home Page Edited September 6, 2016 by Azure Knight

Azure Knight
How much will the artbook be after it's been finished? How much? It'll be on my site in an page flip format for online viewing, and I'll probably have a full pdf version with some extra stuff for download. Not going to charge for it. Not good enough in my opinion to be worth anything. It's mainly for fun.
Tsuranga
Needs less saturation.
Azure Knight
Needs less saturation. Not done in Photoshop. No photomanipulating or adjusting. So saturation isn't really relevant here. Any scene with an orange like tint is lighting during the time of day. I said this was done in the style of the animation so it's all done in Flash. Simple colors, etc.
Artdeux
Glad to see you finally got the hang of putting nice lines into your work. Used to be lackluster. Pretty good for using Adobe Flash.
Liarbird
Adobe Flash si so fucking hard to work with... http://sadpanda.us/images/129552-4HZMA6J.jpg I originally took them as meh, but having worked with flash in the past, I gained a tad respect
Tsuranga
No, I mean like the saturation of your colors AK. Try and pick colors for your drawings that aren't neon. It makes you look like you have the color palatte of a 10 year old.
Harakiri Tiger
You should probably go try and draw using Adobe Flash, Tsu, then upload it.
Tsuranga
I have Macromedia flash mx 2004, so I know what flash is all about. You Can make better color selections than shocking yellow, cobalt blue, baboon ass red, and neon peach. Sorry to be so harsh :S
Azure Knight
Glad to see you finally got the hang of putting nice lines into your work. Used to be lackluster. Pretty good for using Adobe Flash. Thanks, for the longest time I just wasn't comfortable with lines and everything was sketchy. Towards the end, at least before I started animating I was inking and at that point lines were getting better. But yeah, the one thing about vector and Flash that is nice is the smoothness. Adobe Flash si so fucking hard to work with... http://sadpanda.us/images/129552-4HZMA6J.jpg I originally took them as meh, but having worked with flash in the past, I gained a tad respect It's not that Flash is hard to use, it's annoying at first that much is a given. And umm, thanks? No, I mean like the saturation of your colors AK. Try and pick colors for your drawings that aren't neon. It makes you look like you have the color palatte of a 10 year old. Yeah, well you again forget, that these are respresentative of masterful art. The animation is done in Flash, and color wise it's simplified. So I'm keeping in hand with the style of the animation, simple, etc. Also, I'm using a backup computer where all the colors are dulled out a lot by the display. Until my laptop is returned fixed, alot of the color palletes vary from how I see them and how I see them/they're shown on displays with high resolutions. The "neons" as you put it, are very dull when I did them. More than likely before the artbook is put together and released, I'll be going through them all to clean up, adjust, etc. Though this project has taken away from the actual animation, I should probably getting on track with that again sometime next week. Tsuranga
Bad color selection isn't being simple, it's just bad color selection. You need to pick more natural tones AK, plain and simple.
Azure Knight
Bad color selection isn't being simple, it's just bad color selection. You need to pick more natural tones AK, plain and simple. Ok, you're getting annoying now. It's your opinion, not fact. Your style is very dull and has a pastel feel. Nothing vibrant about it. The style I'm using for this is more vibrant, plain and simple. It's style choice. Plus I guess I have to reiterate what I said about the color and display. On this laptop I'm using, these colors look nothing close to being "neon", nothing, at all close to neon, they all look dull and plain and natural, plain and simple. You seem to ignore what I said about this and continued onwards regardless. Since I'm not using hex codes or any other number representation of the colors I go by visual in Flash. And I'll say it again, maybe this time you'll understand what I'm saying. Compared to how I saw them at work on a better display to what I'm seeing now there's a big difference. Here I'm seeing light pink compared to the obscene vibrant pink I saw at work. SO, until I have my laptop that has high HD resolution and better color display I have to go off what I see. And balance out colors to a proper blend when I can see what they realistically look like, plain and simple.
Azure Knight
I got my laptop back finally. And oh god, the color differences are fricking ridiculous. Either way I'll adjust them later when I'm setting up the artbook when it's finalized, probably in a week or so. Til then, I'll have new art this weekend, and some more animation finally. Azure Knight
For the first volume dvd that's being released in late February/early March I've been putting together extras in the form of minisodes and behind the scenes works. I've got quite a few Voice Actor Interviews up, will probably be more, since the cast list is huge, but this is what I have for now.
