Ravens…

Welcome to the Rankings.

We do not care what team you are a part of.

We do not care about your name or reputation.

We do not care about your fucking team rank.

We are anonymous pilots.

The Rankings is an Old School AC style Arena, a fight club for the PSN side of Verdict DayIt is a list of powerful AC pilots, ordered from the newest and weakest, to the strongest, with the title of Nine-Breaker, at Rank 1.

What does the Rank Mean?

More than just a number, the Rank is treated as valuable property. Each pilot earns it, or loses it quickly. It's a signifies of a pilot's strength in battle, as well as its player's enthusiasm and expertise with the game.

It's a reason to keep coming back, to keep improving, to keep playing. This feeling of victory through struggle was lost with the later Armored Core games, so this team intends to bring it back by enlisting members, with their own diverse back-stories and skill levels, into a single great Arena.

How To Join

Any player can join, but only one Rank per PSN.

To join, fill out the following and send it to me via PM, PSN, or a post in this thread:

Pilot Name:

AC name:

PSN:

You will then be enrolled in the Rankings as an Unranked member. After another ranked member gives you approval of being a competent architect, usually after a test battle, you'll be added to the main rankings at the bottom rank.

How to Raise your Rank: Challenges

Once added at the bottom of the rankings, you can raise your rank only by swapping it with a member above yours or when a higher rank member forfeits their rank. This is done via Challenges.

Who can you challenge:

A member can challenge any other member for their rank, with the exception of the top 20%, which must be challenged in sequence from lowest to highest rank (1).

How to Challenge:

Issue a challenge to another player by contacting both them and DominantLegend. The two players will engage in a battle, where they will operate and the players will fight.

Matches with multiple members are possible in Battle Royale or Team Matches, where 4 or more rankers will choose teams (Green Team or Yellow Team) to fight eachother among the rankers.

Challenger VS Challenged

The challenger has the advantage that, if after 14 days if the opponent does not respond, they win by default. A win by default causes the challenged player to enter Unranked, and start again from the bottom.

Once responded, the Challenged can offer to elevate it to a team or royale match, if enough other rankers are interested, but if there is not enough other rankers who will step up within that 14 day period the challenge will go forward as a 1v1.

The challenged member gets to choose the stage, time and make the proposal for a team or royal match, including how many other players would be allowed.

How to win a challenge

A challenge is won when either member wins 2 consecutive matches. Time-outs do not count as wins and are ignored. In-between matches, players may change ACs, Programming, etc. The challenged may change maps or other settings as well.

Battle Royal challenges are done elimination style. All of the ranks of the participating members are available, and the players fight repeatedly. The first player to reach 2 victories, consecutive or not, gains the highest rank available and drops out from the match. This continues to the next highest, rank, until it is a 1v1 scenario. If a player leaves before they have claimed, they are automatically added to the bottom. Subsequent leaving or disconnecting is added below them.

Team Matches work similarly, except that after 2 consecutive victories, the winning team gets the top half of the ranks (in descending order from the team member's previous rank) and the losing team gets the lower half of the ranks, in likewise order.

Voiding Challenges:

If there is any dispute whatsoever and the match is not spectated, and/or proper notice isn't given out for the challenge, the challenge is considered void. If disagreements over results are bad enough, both players may lose their rank.

If both players have responded, they have 7 days to battle and report the same results back to DominantLegend or another designated player to edit the results into this post. If after 7 days no results are reported, the challenge is voided.

This applies to team and royale matches as well, although only a single member's results may be discarded and moved to unranked.

Challenge Results:

If the Challenged wins, the ranks remain the same.

If the Challenger wins, the two player swap ranks.

If after 14 days the Challenged does not respond, they move to Unranked and the Challenger takes their rank. In this time, the Challenged proposes the conditions, as well as chooses whether or not to elevate it to a team/battle royal match.

If after 14 days, the Challenged responds but the Challenger does not show up for a match, the Challenger is moved to Unranked and the Challenged retains their rank.

After a challenge, the Challenged (win or lose) can have an up to 14 day "grace period" where they cannot be challenged again, unless they choose to waive the period and go on with the challenge anyway. However, they suffer no penalty from denying or turning down challenges during this period.

Forfeiting or Transferring a Rank:

If a player wishes to, at any time, they can forfeit their rank, even if they are being challenged. This moves the player to Unranked, and all members below them move up by 1 rank.

Added ranks 7, 8, 9, and 10. Rank 3 challenged by Rank 4.

Also, since we have 10 rankers now, the top 20% encompasses both Ranks 1 and 2, so they can only be challenged in sequence. If there is a group challenge, all that matters is that the challenging group contains the player eligible to challenge them. (So Rank 3+5 can challenge 2+4, but not 1+2, since neither rank 3 or 5 are eligible to challenge rank 1).

Nescient, you'd need to post your information or PM it to me to officially register and be given a rank.

Added Rankers 11 and 12.

If you want to fight them but don't want to join the Arena, ask them to fight outside of the Arena.

Updated Challenge information between Ranks 11 and 12.

Updated challenge information between Ranks 3 and 4, added Ranker 13.

Challenge between Ranks 3 and 4 ended up with Rank 4 winning, swapping their ranks, in a 3-win-1-loss victory.

I've been quite busy this week with work so ACVD has taken a back seat, but I've updated the Arena again with rank challenge information between 1 and 2. Added Rank 18 and 19, updated challenge information from Ranks 16 and 5.

I'll do more work on the descriptions later. Generally, the more matches you have and the more information you provide to the public (me) about your matches, the more detailed your description will be.

Updated, there was a period with the site down where the updates weren't recorded here. For the full list of updates, look at the thread at Armored Core Legacy, located here:

http://armoredcorelegacy.com/board/index.php?/topic/1797-the-acvd-arena/

I will continue to update this thread regularly now from this point on.

I don't update the thread every single day, and it's been a very busy week for me.

Updated, with the following:

6/2/15: Fighting_Street has dropped out due to no longer having a PS3. He expresses his thanks for the Arena. All rankers below him advanced by 1 rank and he has been placed in unranked for the time being, though if he decides to pull entirely his information will be removed upon his request.

6/2/15: Beliroz has beaten Jedi 2-0-0. This invalidates Rank 22's challenge against him.

6/5/15: Zenith has challenged PDN for Rank 9.

6/5/15: Zenith has lost to PDN.

6/7/15: Floyd has been added to this Arena as rank 24.

6/9/15: Updated challenge information between Floyd (Rank 24) and Jedi (Rank 7)

Changes:

1. Updated challenge information between Rank 19 (Hela) and Rank 15 (Gold Falcon).

2. Updated challenge information between Rank 8 (Reiko) and rank 22 (Niro).

As to recap, I would like to make the following change to the Arena:

After a challenge, the Challenged (win or lose) can have an up to 14 day "grace period" where they cannot be challenged again, unless they choose to waive the period and go on with the challenge anyway. However, they suffer no penalty from denying or turning down challenges during this period.

to:

After a challenge, the Challenged (win or lose) will be granted a "grace period" during which they cannot be challenged again, unless they choose to waive the period and go on with a new challenge (either receiving or giving). However, they suffer no penalty from denying or turning down challenges during this period.

This period ends 14 days after the challenge date of the most recent match that they have won.

This would make the "14 day grace period" and "14 days to fight after being challenged" occupy the same time slot instead of being successive. So the maximum days between challenges is reduced from 28 days to 14 days, but the grace period still exists.

I will now vet objections. If you object to this rule change, speak up in the next 7 days, after which, if there are no further objections, I will enact this change. I think this is a good solution to many of your concerns about the length of the grace period that addresses them without making the less active members (who may only get on once or twice a week or less) suffer from a reduced period to respond to challenges.
