Allrighty, time for another round of allocating stats!!! The question right now is to pump faith or dexterity. Rings are DWGR and RoFaP Gear is Steel Helm, Hollow Warrior Armor, and Black Iron Gauntlets/Leggings. Spells are: Force, WotG, DMB, Gravelord Greatsword Dance (GGD), Great Lightning Spear (GLS) Stats: 40/19/36/16/27/11/8/50 Right now I'm not sure if it would be best to drop points from Faith and put them into Dex, or if I want to consider a different stat allocation altogether. I favor the silver knight weapons, but I'm still open to most weapon types. I am still trying to find a weapon setup that fits me well. The three main ones I have tried are: Rhand: Silver Knight Sword/Darkmoon Talisman Lhand: Crest Shield/Darkmoon Talisman Goal: Lhand talisman for DMB, Rhand talisman for casting offensive miracles, letting me still use a shield and switching between sword and talisman to mix things up a bit. Rhand: Silver Knight Sword/Silver Knight Spear Lhand: Crest Shield/Darkmoon Talisman Goal: Switch between poking with a spear and getting aggressive with the sword. I tend to two hand my main weapon while offhanding my talisman, then when I stagger my opponent or see an opening I'll hit them with either GGD or GLS. Rhand: Silver Knight Sword/Avelyn Lhand: Crest Shield/Darkmoon Talisman Goal: Poke them from afar with the Avelyn, get in close with the sword. I like the Avelyn over other bows due to it's fairly fast to pull out and shoot, the bows take a few extra moments to get ready, which I have yet to really get comfortable with. Any suggestions welcome!

I'm on, and at the balcony, area is cleared, so we should be able to get up to the boss fight pretty quickly FYI

Gahh, my cat walked across the keyboard and hit the refresh button, erasing my post! Hold that thought until I get off work today! PSN ID is LeiShanier And I think 10pm EST is 7pm PST, so that works for me.

Woohoo! How about this coming Sunday the 28th? I've a question. Recently had a fellow invade me, we fought for a bit, then he started spamming parry with his shield, and he eventually got in a parry riposte for a OHKO. What is a good way to counter that situation? I was doing PvE and low on spells, so I didn't have any spells other than healing available (first mistake methinks). He was sticking pretty close to me so I couldn't get into my inventory for any ranged consumables. I think I'm going to have to switch to running an anti griefer setup rather than my usual PvE setup. On the plus side, several invaders have met an untimely demise with a few well timed uses of Force and a well placed cliff. While I still need to improve, I'm pretty happy with how I'm handling myself for the most part against invaders with my SKS. My main issues come with how to deal with people who can OHKO you, either backstab or parry+riposte. Still loving poison effects, just for the panic effect it tends to have on people.

I'm gonna have to see if anyone here wants to get together sometime for some PvP! It's been interesting to see all of the different play styles, and skill levels, of the people I've fought against already. Things I've noticed is that spear users tend to be more skilled than other players. If they are using any axe other than the BLGA then they WILL mess you up nine ways to sunday. And that Sunlight Blade + Great Club = pain. Soul level 120-125 is still the common range though isn't it? I'm still trying to decide which I like better, a quality, int, or faith build. There'll be plenty of save slots to play all three, just trying to focus on one to learn real well first is the hard part. That and getting Seath to drop a MLGS. I did get it on my faith build character though!

Bwahahahaaaa!!! High speed internet acquired! Noob pwnage initiated! Now to get out of noob status >.> But in all seriousness DkS online is a blast. I have a high level character that I've been dinking around in forest PvP with, and I must say it's kinda funny. There are two characters that I run into alot who spam WoTG, they have to each have the ability to cast WoTG at least 12 times. So, in order to counter this I leveled up a shield with high magic resist and set what's it called, the spell that prevents people from casting spells. Watching them try to spam WoTG afterwards is just priceless Two questions here. I sometimes see an invader who runs away and I *think* hides somewhere. I am guessing that they are hiding, going afk and racking up the souls while the host and myself kill other invaders. Any ideas where they might be hiding? At anyrate, I am not seeing a message saying that the invader left like I typically do. Second question is, is there a good area to learn how to PvP one on one better? The forest tends to be host+helpers vs one invader. While I like being a helper, I do want to get better with the 1v1 stuff. Thirdly, it is amazing how many people do not carry any moss to eliminate poison. Poison arrows/throwing knives/resin are fun
  10. So it basically boils down to statistics as to when you stagger someone then? I like the Shotgun/Plasma combo. In bigger open areas I tend to try to be too aggressive with it though and keep getting myself caught in the AoE blast :/
  11. Can anyone explain how stagger works? Specifically, I'm experimenting with handguns for stun/kick tactics. I'm looking at two handguns, the Oxeye, and the Provo. The Oxeye has an impact force of 1,354 and reload time of 108. The Provo has a impact force of 681 and a reload time of 15. I can't really tell which one staggers better. It almost seems like using a Oxeye/Provo or 2xProvo staggers better than 2x Oxeyes. At least that is what it seems like to me testing on the various ACs in the practice arena. I'm very interested in running a stagger inducing AC, but I don't really know how best to use the weapons because I don't really understand how staggering works. Also, question on shotguns, taking the KO-3K2 as an example. It has an attack power of 1,074, and impact force of 1,035. That is per bullet in each shot correct?
  12. Blast it, right when I settle on a weapon loadout for my AC I try something new and find something I really like! I can't make up my mind!!!! For example, I wouldn't ordinarily think of using sniper rifles like regular rifles, but by golly they do work!

First off, thanks for the input Niji! After playing around with it quite a bit I think my AC was originally too heavy. I lightened it up quite a bit, but then I piled on the weaponry and slowed my AC down again. Now I'm trying to be a bit more balanced. Update time! AC: Head: Chromeye Core: Jotun Arms: Elbe AM28-2 Legs: Odenwald Internals: FCS: Glance Gen: Sonne Boost: Shinatsu Recon: Okitsu Weapons: Rarm: KO-3K2/Lotus/LR-81M KRSW Larm: KO-3k2 Shoulder: ??? Rbay: BD-0 Murakumo Lbay: BD-0 Murakumo My aim is for a lightish midweight RJ. While I need more practice with quickboosting and the like, my general philosophy is that you can't hurt what you can't hit. HOWEVER, I kinda suck, I make lots of mistakes, so I also want a AC that can take a bit of a beating. I think the AP and the defenses on this are pretty good. The Chromeye was picked for aesthetics Also as a way to boost my TE defenses, since those are pretty lacking otherwise. I need to pretty much start from scratch with the boosters now that I've lightened up my AC quite a bit. I found that I really, really like the shotguns. Great impact force, good damage. I find myself mostly fighting within shotgun range too, so it's kinda like why not use them? I don't know if I'd want to go 2x shotguns, or if I'd want to go with either a BR/LR + shotgun. Advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there any big advantage of one TE weapon type over another? I really like the plasma weapons, but their muzzle velocity is so slow it seems easier to dodge than the other weapons. Pulse machineguns are quite nice, but I kind of like the impact force for the KRSW rifle better. It seems really easy to keep an AC stunned with the KRSW+shotgun combo. With the pulse machinguns, do the explosive flashes of the rounds when they hit distract a human opponent any? I could see using them if that were the case. Shoulder weapon I'm not too sure on. CIWI's are great, but I don't know if there is something a bit better for me to stick there. I'm also playing around with the melee weapons. So far I see you can dual attack with 2x of the same weapon, or physical blade + pile driver. I'm thinking of keeping melee weapons on backup so that if I see a sniper or tank AC, I can drop kick them + melee. Granted, I'm working with the AI here since I can't get online, but it's been working pretty well so far. I'm not using pile bunkers at the moment because I still miss with the melees on a not infrequent basis. The jury is still out on laser blades. I like them, but I'm having a little trouble trying to make them work for me.
  14. AC: Swordbreaker Currently I'm just messing around in singleplayer, still learning the game. My team level is 42, mostly through order matches, so there are still a number of parts to unlock and collect. That being said, my baby: Head: Perseus Core: Jotun Arms: UAM-23/I Legs: KT-2N3/Putuo FCS: UFC-11 Glance Gen: Sonne Boost: Shinatsu Recon: Okitsu Weapons: Rarm: UBR-05/R Larm: Calendula RF11 Shoulder: UCS-17 This is mostly for missions, so if I were to do matches I think I'd swap the UBR-05/R for the Lotus. I like the higher muzzle velocity/range/other stats. I do however like the higher damage on the Podenka, so I'm not too sure which BR I want to use there. I'm quite pleased with the Calendula's performance. It's good for clearing tanks/choppers/stuff. If I were to fight another human opponent the EOs would probably come off. They seem to be better for MTs and the like. I'm going to be playing around with the different arms. I've heard that firing stability affects firing speed and accuracy. I'd love to get some advice on how to make this better, or what I might want to try with it. Right now I want to build a mid to close range combat AC so that I can practice my piloting. Things I want to try: Use a handgun for stuns, and BR/kicks for damage Experiment more with EN weaponery Get better with the kicks!
