  1. My rank would go down, seemingly randomly, even if it had been hours since a failure. However, I stopped taking low ranking missions (Order Missions under 30, for example) and my rank never went down again, after that. I can't say if that's the reason or not, though. But, it seemed to have worked. And I totally agree with the last part. If I want to stay up on the runnings, I have to pick and choose. However, next season, I won't try for the leaderboards as much. On that note, can someone tell me what my rank is on the PS3 merc leaderboards? Last I knew, I was #8. I won't have the game again for a little while, so I'm not able to check for myself at the moment.
  2. ...Really? That's where we're going with this? lol
  3. I won't hold my breath. The only absolutes in this world are death and taxes.
  4. I'd be more than willing to help out. Using an API opens you up to a whole new world of Minecraft. There are a ridiculous amount of things you can do with it; things beyond the normal boundaries of the game. For some reason, Minecraft is something that I just can't seem to get away from completely. Be it as a player or as an administrator, I always end up going back to it and playing the hell out of it for a few months. I bought my account 2 years ago and I still play the hell out of it. lol.
  5. That would be fantastic. Probably explains why they stopped notifying us of the season reset.
  6. That's exactly the point I was trying to make. That happened to me quite often. I'd go on an invasion mission, the client would start the mission with just me and him (stupid move on his part) and then "EMERGENCY" and likely versus 4-5 players. Even if it's just mercs, two players will almost always fail. Faster if there's an operator. However, despite this, I'm still where I am. There were times where I'd lose rank, but I never once fell below C. And ever since I hit S rank, I've never fell below it. I'm not bragging, I lose 8/10 1v1 matches, but I am where I am. If I can do this, I don't see why it's so hard for others. If the Sortie timer doesn't start the moment you enter briefing, you're going to wait. There are two types of missions that do this AFAIK; Defense and Domination matches. If you see either of these, just leave before briefing starts. They take up a lot of time that could be spent on other missions. Not to mention, if someone leaves before you, it's 100% wasted time. The reason these take time is because both are focused on fighting enemy players. Other mission types focus on PvE with defense teams showing up if there are any waiting. Most efficient way to earn merc money, by far? Order Mission duels. With a good client, you can knock them out in under a minute (sometimes under 30 seconds). And if you're a good player, you'll net 80k-200k+ per mission. The only thing better is an invasion mission versus MoH. I'll soak up 400k-500k per mission from those. But, you can't guarantee you'll fight those all time. It's fairly rare that I see them. It's all about making wise choices with your missions. It goes without saying that you can't know if your client is retarded, but there are things you can do to minimize the occurrence of bad situations. It's just knowing what to look for.
  7. I had to return my copy of GameFly, so I haven't been able to check. Has the season finally reset, yet?
  8. I'm aware that their price isn't set in stone. When sold to another player, it's the buyer who sets the price. When a scroll is purchased from another player, that establishes an acceptable price. All other prices will fluctuate up or down from there. If a seller can't move a product, they have to lower their prices until deemed suitable by the consumer. Who is to say that gold farmers won't be on the look out for these trends and try to beat the competition? You fail to realize that gold farmers will be happy to turn any kind of profit, at all. And gold prices are determined by the amount of work it takes to collect enough currency to sell. If Chronoscrolls make it easier for legit players to get money, that means gold farmers will benefit from it, as well. They'll work the system like they always do. However, this just means it won't be as easy for them. Instead of making billions, they'll probably be making millions. It remains a profitable endeavor for them. They don't constantly change prices because this is a new concept. Give them time and they'll figure out a way to work the system. They're Asians; they do math.
  9. My previous post was slightly misinformed. When I had originally read that article when it was first posted, I had misread it to saying "Or trade them in for gold" instead of "trade them in the game with other players for gold." I had thought they were a way of bringing more money into circulation, like giving people a money printing press. If it were that way, it would ruin the economy. In reality, this won't create any sort of generalized inflation. My bad. However, I don't think this will work quite as well as En Masse thinks. In order to get a Chronoscroll, a player must spend real money; the intent would be to earn in-game money. In order to gain this in-game money, you need a buyer. Then, the seller must consider, "I paid 'X' amount of money for this scroll and I can earn 'Y' amount of gold from it. Are my returns worth what I paid to receive it?" What this will do is cause gold farmers to set their prices accordingly; "You can pay us less money to get the same or more in-game gold." Cheaper gold means more chances for business, but requires them to work harder in return to adjust for loss of sales. That is, assuming business doesn't pick up from easier accessibility. Unlike other businesses, RMTs don't have a physical product, with materials, that they have to pay to make. All they pay for is the man-hours used to accrue their intended product. Might I add that they don't pay their employees jack. They wouldn't bat an eye at forcing a higher quota for the same or less pay. Don't get me wrong, I don't support RMT. And I really hope this plan does succeed. My point is, if I can find a way around it, I'm sure all the RMT companies will too.
  10. I won't claim to be a good player, but I find it difficult to comprehend how people fall so far below C rank. No offense. I've had my share of troubles with several missions netting me a big fat -200k each, but I never fell below C rank and I'm currently ranked #8 on the leaderboards. @theSkullLeader Yes, that is correct. Both positive and negative amounts affect your score respectively. What kind of missions are you accepting?
  11. Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? Watched the demo, the story of this show seems kinda neat. Maybe I'll pick it up when it hits the under $20 bin in a month (if that).
  12. Let's hope it works. I like the idea, but the potential for a curve to offset the extra source of income is likely to happen. Otherwise, these things could cause a massive amount of inflation in the AH.
  13. Haha. I'm just trying to get as high as possible to see if there's some sort of reward. I won't try as hard, next season, if all the rankings are purely for bragging rights.

    Booze

Talk about shallow reasons. But, I guess that's just the way of things. To reiterate, no, I'm not 12; I'm 24. On-Topic: I like to try a lot of beers, but most just taste awful to me. Samuel Smith and Lindeman's Lambi/Framboise are among my favorites. If those aren't available to me, I'll default to things like Blue Moon/Shock Top or many other pale (except IPA--WOW that stuff is bitter). However, I have a bad/good habit of trying any beer suggested to me. I'll try any beer, in search of the perfect one for me.
  15. Roger that. Since you don't use an API and it's just a time killer, then any suggestion I might have would be more work that you'd benefit from. Worth a shot. =P
