Bag of Peanuts (1/11)

  1. All I am saying is the people who get enjoyment off w/e "unfair" weapon or tactic usually end up getting bored and move on to the next rather quickly. I totally agree, some people do stick with it a long time. Most will leave with time though, it loses its taste lol. I haven't heard of Goldemercenary before. Which game was he a part of?
  2. So I normally like to stick with long range ACs and Quads have always been my favorite throughout the series. This AC is one I use basically all the time, with slight variations on weaponry depending on the situation. I think I am mostly happy with my weaponry and armor choices, but I am still a bit confused on the best internals. Any advice is appreciated. So you can see what I'm working with I'll list the Assembly: Head: Beowulf HD103 (mostly for camera performance) Core: Surt CR114 Arms: KT-4S2-2/Svir 2 (obv for firing stability) Legs: Ortigara LG664 (originally used Viso LG664-2 but swapped for mobility) Is there anything better I could be using? Here is the rest: FCS: FCS-07/Lr Uzume (for lock on range) Generator: UGN70/Ho Vital (It has really high EN recovery, I like that) Booster: UBT-25/H (Is a high acceleration booster the right choice on this build?) Also, what is the benefit of using a sub computer? I have been using Autoguns for when I'm kneeling and a missile unit for when I am not equipped with a weapon that engages ready-stance. Any recommendations for sub computers? My usual weaponry consists of seidenbaums, lotus BR, minisawa, and the Ithaca SC.
  3. I think the whole mentality that we are seeing right now in conquest mode will eventually die off as well. As the game gets older those kind of people will be mostly flushed out. What will remain are the people who pride themselves on piloting skills and general use of tactics. The people who get a rush (pardon the pun) using teams of howitzer blitzes are likely to burn out on this game rather quickly.
  4. It's funny too, this exact same thing happened when FROM brought out Dark Souls. Updates were happening over on the JP client side, but it took a few patches before the NA version was suddenly brought up to par (bamco was the publisher on that title too). Have patience, I am sure we will see the patches eventually. The way I look at it is: They make a few tweaks to weapons/defenses to try to fix the balance on some (seemingly) OP parts/weapons. They release these tweaks to a subset of the population for testing. Then they tweak it some more. More testing, until the balance is appropriate. Then they release it worldwide. Would you rather have broken imbalances in 1.01? or in 1.02/1.03? If 1.03 comes out and it is still (or possibly even more) unbalanced, would you be more angry at having the patch or having the older version? If they thought it was going to stay at 1.03 for a while, we will get it. If they think they will tweak it some and 1.04 will be better, then that is the one we will get. Basically, in this case, the JP client is "beta testing" the adjustments.
  5. I've been thinking about the ACU teams, how some people are experiencing inactivity, and about the need to possibly open another wing as the 3 current teams are full. Is there any (easy) way of going through the teams and culling the dead weight? For instance, on Wing1 there are a few members I have seen and played with, however there are also a few I have NEVER seen online and they are still using an emblem from the original emblem set. I realize the fact that I personally have not seen a member online does not mean that they do not get online. I also realize that having an emblem from the original set does not necessarily mean you are inactive, but I also realize that it would be better to cull the inactive members and add in more active people than create another wing team. The only other way I could think of to show whether or not you are still actively playing would be to post somewhere on the forums (sort of like the playtime posts we are making now to shift members around teams). If you don't post by a certain pre-determined deadline, then you are cut to make way for more active players. Just throwing some ideas around. Anything you like/dont like? Have a better idea?
  6. Read this thread in the main forum area titled "Conquest Mode" http://armoredcoreuniverse.net/forum/index.php?/topic/2614-conquest-mode/ Should have all the info you need and more!
  7. Someone messed with the team info pretty good on wing team 1. Our emblem has changed, as well as language, colours etc. I can change most of it back, but i don't have the emblem.
  8. Re-read the opening post in more detail. You will find the password there. Hint: The pasword is NIJI
  9. I realize that the server reset was a big let down, and in its current state the conquest systems don't really seem to work very well. However, the game has been released on NA shores for about two weeks. The game still has many people playing it, we just have difficulties all getting together. The move to structured free battles will help solve this issue, even if the server does not keep records of these battles. It should make it easier to get in some competitive PvP action without having to rely on the randomly chosen encounters in the current conquest system. That being said, the change to free battles would mostly only affect those interested in PvP. If you are looking for co-op help on missions (as a team or as a merc) nothing has really changed.
  10. I realize that trying to organize the teams at this point is going to be difficult no matter the way we decide to split the teams. I am just thinking that it would be easier to screen people as "online" or "offline" by allowing online people to join the core team and offline people to just jump back to a wing overnight. It really shouldn't destroy the sense of "teamness" that I think Accursed was trying to get at. If anything we should have a better sense of team if we are all contributing to one set of team points, one (or two) specified areas to invade/conquest, and it will be easier to connect with other players who are actually online. With the current size of the teams, it is unlikely that we would have more than 20 people online at the same time, so everyone who is active would be able to meet up in the core team and bang out a few invasions/dominations/mock battles etc. That being said, I will be sticking with the ACU teams no matter which way they are created. When there are others online in my team (Hey Requiem/chibi!) I have been trying to get Wing 1 into some invasions. When I am alone, I have been working on my Merc Rank (currently #120 Rank S). In keeping with other members, here are my playtimes/AC style: I mostly play Quadruped ACs with long range for sniping/support. I live in EST and play just about every evening from 7PM-12AM, though I may miss a night here or there. Weekends are hit or miss depending on what other things I have to get done. I will usually still be on in the evenings on weekends, and I may be able to sneak in an early afternoon from time to time.
  11. I see what you are saying, but that really only works if all teams are active. If we have 3 teams all attacking their own areas, doesn't that seem less focused then say, one team attacking 2 areas? Green Flamingo is on top of two territories, and there are a few other teams that are in the top three in more than one region. Either way, it is a new game and the active players will eventually find each other.
  12. I think this is actually a pretty good idea. When you log in, you start in your base team and immediately join up the "active team". You meet up with other people who are online using the active team. We could even just make the "core team" now the active team and when you log off just jump to one of the wings. I was trying to join the core team both saturday and sunday night but could not get in as it was maxed out. Edit: This way we also all work towards the same team points/rank.
  13. If you read the captions that flow by on the bottom of the screen, there is one right now that says something along the lines of: "The action in (insert area name here) has intensified! Many territories' AP are at zero!" It was like that a few days ago in the Huge Canyon too. Not 100% sure on the above, but it seems to fit.
  14. That explains it then, Thanks! What happens if the merc kills you? I assume mission failure. That puts the merc in a really tight spot. Don't anger the host, or you may end up dead before they clear the mission!
  15. Is friendly fire possible while using the weapons with sniper scopes? Last night i went into an order mission against 2 ACs with a merc. The map was the long bridge with the 2ACs on the other end. Immediately after loading, I opened up my Sniper Cannon and was destroying the enemies from the other end of the bridge. The merc went in and got in the way of a few shots. At the time I didn't really look to see if I had damaged him, but at the end of the fight (which only lasted less than 2mins, i got both subquests for it) he only had about 9000AP left while i was still at full AP. All that said, it is possible that he just took a huge amount of damage in that time from the enemy ACs (it was 2 tank types) but I couldn't help but think my shots may have damaged him. Thoughts?
