Gaunt

Tower City Blade was nowhere near as, I dunno, "deep" as I wanted it to be. The storyline was ripped straight out of the shonen standard plot canon (or MoA, whatever; maybe just handled softly) and I frankly could not give a fuck about any of the characters. Not enough grey area. Not enough tough choices. Didn't feel like most of the characters were Ravens. That said... the take on Human Plus was cool, so, not all bad.

04:54. Outskirts of Trene City, First Layer. Ken Arturo waits for the sunrise projectors on Ogawa Bridge. Four lanes of self-driving cars pass like a river of glowing metal beneath him; it seems to flow straight up when it meets Trene City proper, a luminous array of buildings and industrial structures easily seen several kilometers to the east. Moisture collectors rob the cold morning of its fog. Arturo pities the passengers as he watches their mass migration. In this part of town, and by judging their direction on the highway, he knows they all work for Mirage. The corporation’s skyscrapers nearly meet Layered’s ceiling in some places. Arturo muses silently on his own former employment. He checks his laptop and leans against the rail. Faint amber bounces off his retinas, a message from his own economic god. “Ogawa Bridge.
