True, but competitive battlers build teams based on metagame, not overall tier. The diversity and potency of offensive threats is greater in this generation, granted, but the metagame still dictates what offensive and defensive threats are most potent and worthy of consideration at the time. More threats = less staleness (for the time being). P.S. Hitmontop and Rock Polish Terakion are beasts.

Nattorei > Cloyster. Technician Hitmontop is pretty anti-metagame at the moment too, stopping the likes of Cloyster and Excadrill (and accompanying Tyranitar) in their tracks. Poliwrath resists all attacks, as does Empoleon. Roobushin has 416 attack at max, and deals a minimum of 75% with Mach Punch. Specially-based Lucario is more prominent this gen, and Vacuum Wave is an overkill even without a defense drop. Positive natured scarf Pokemon with a speed stat of 100 or more outspeed it, and can revenge it; Garchomp, Infernape, Latios and a host of others can revenge it with ease. Dream World Pokemon get released periodically. That basically means that as they are released by Game Freak, they are allowed in standard play. If you play on the Pokemon Online simulator, you will find that there is a Standard Wifi tier which is designed to reflect what would be "legal" on Wifi without the use of hacking devices, and a full Dream World tier, where players can use Pokemon with Dream World abilities whether they have been released or not.

I'm getting a real sense of nostalgia looking at some of the images posted on the website. Without over-thinking it, I actually feel like I'm looking at a revamped AC1-era game. Everything just appears so industralised as opposed to post-apocalyptic.

I think Game Freak have had an honest (yet futile) attempt at watering down Stealth Rock to some degree. For starters, it is no longer available as a TM (although you can bring your gen 4 Pokemon, so a lot of Pokemon still have access to it). Secondly, a lot of Pokemon hit the scene which would likely be able to stop the setup of rocks in the first place (e.g. quick Taunters; the Mischievous Heart ability). Third, spinning the rocks away has been given a boost by stripping the Rotom-A of their ghost-typing. Finally, Ho-oh got Regenerate (lol). Overall, this equates to nothing haha. It does look like they have tried to change the game around SR, rather than change the mechanic.

I figured that the top falls, since Mal probably would have woken Cobb up if she'd died and entered the 'real world'. I doubt she'd go on killing herself without attempting to 'kick' Cobb first.

There just aren't that many Pokemon available in the tier to safely switch into Heracross. Substitute with 3 attacks will be common, as pretty much any ghost-type in the tier gets destroyed by Stone Edge, which it likely carries for coverage. I do however share the opinion that it's not going to shatter the tier, and in fact will bring a welcome change to it. I just hope that it's not going to end up on every team and completely centralise the tier. I mean, Rock Polish Rhyperior has more power and potential speed on tap and yet remains UU with no question of its power. The only difference is that the things that it typically does not KO (such as the number one Pokemon in the tier) can easily threaten it due to its weak typing, and is also scared of status. Time will tell, as Black and White are less than a week away anyway.

360 is a completely different environment compared to PS3. There is a significantly higher usage of grenades and all-round tacky shit on the Box. Next person I see using a thermal or heartbeat sensor is copping an earful too, because they're both lame. I resent how they put those two things in the game. Also, getting spawn-killed 5 times in a row from an AC-130 is just ridiculous. How the hell are you supposed to play a game that spawns you in the middle of the open against that? 360 Slim also lags far more than PS3, I've found.

I went and saw this movie again since myself and the girl had nothing better to do, and she works at the cinema. I have to admit that I thought this movie was better the second time around. I attribute this to the fact that I knew the story, knew how it all sort of worked and hence I wasn't shit-scared about missing something like I was the first time I saw it. This let me explore the concepts of the movie in my mind more, an appreciate the plot on a deeper level. In short, I understood this movie relatively easily the first time, but now I have it completely figured. Also, the spinning top falls at the end.

Honch is okay, but I don't think it's all that great in OU. I played UU in the period before it got banned, and I didn't find it all that threatening then either. Probably one of the better switches in to Breloom though, which is something. Seventy-one base speed and poor defenses make it fairly handicapped though.

I'm not particularly wowed by this movie. The only thing that moved me at all in the entire film was the story of how Mal came to tragically take her own life, and that's mostly because I was in the cinema with my girlfriend who I feel very strongly for, and I tried putting myself in Cobb's shoes. That said, I can't help but think that if I was single I wouldn't have cared too greatly for this either. The movie is numb. Props to the writers for keeping things in synch, but to be honest I found myself correctly predicting the outcomes of a lot of the movie. That kind of killed it for me. I appreciate the movie for not being bad, but I don't think it's particularly amazing all the same.

I am so desensitised to the sound of noob tubes. I'm sure if a study were to be undertaken, they would discover a significant difference in the number of tubers on XBL and PS3, with XBL having a higher usage overall.
