    I want to make that famous classic anime super robot that spams all the beams and kicks all the aliens. But I don't know what parts would be appropriate for this bot recreation.

     

    This is literally the sole reason I've picked AC5 back up, and it's been a long while, so I've forgotten what's good in bot building. Even when I did know anything, I was still just a middle-biped dual gatling nogooder. No weapons/fcs or gen/booster decided yet for this new bot, obviously. If you have fond memories of Gunbuster or just like to build good TE-damage dealing ACs, suggest me some parts. If you think there are more visually accurate frame parts for Gunbuster than what I've chosen, or if I happened to choose some really bad/unorthadox ones that need to be replaced, do tell. Perhaps legs with a stronger charge attack rating to better emulate Gunbuster's Inazuma Kick. Anything that makes this design any closer to the robot it's designed after.

    So if you don't know much about Gunbuster and what weapon makes a good Buster Beam, I'm just looking to make a good TE-damage dealing bot, one also capable of good energy management of course. KE/CE missiles are acceptable. Please and thank you.

  2. I've been pretty conflicted here as I've been trying to write a post but seeing new posts popping up that all make sense, especially Eth-jose. I've deleted what I've written and will just make short basic opinions/statements.

     

    HCSM sounds pretty necessary for such a risky build.

    More weapon buff uses with CMW sounds pretty tempting, pretty necessary for long pvp fights.

    However, I like WoG for its different uses, also acting like the Burst from fighting games (Guilty Gear, etc.); makes sense for my punchy character.

    SLB not being affected (?) by magic defense is cool.

    Power Within, being able to stack (?) with SLB for extra punching power is cool, doubly cool because it's a pyromancy.

    With Mike-guin's build, I can switch out the pvp specific stuff (PW, WoG) use the slots for pyro, switch out the pyro glove+0 and still kill bosses quickly.

    With the faith from the build, I could even use heal.

     

    Basically it's easier (even if only slightly) to do the more menial Dark Souls tasks, killing bosses, being a helpful summon, with Penguin's build. Plus I still have the strange burning desire to have a PYROfistymancer, and his build allows me to switch into that when I please without totally ruining the build.

     

    Going with the Penguin on this one.

I can see how this would be a problem if I wanted to use power within, full power pyromancies, and enchants for a dragon bone fist at the same time since I'd have to sacrifice a shield to hold two pyro hands a catalyst and a fist. Perhaps if I trained to be a master at parrying with my catalyst/pyro hand.

     

    After that I'd just have to decide which is better, crystal weapon with the crystal catalyst or sunlight/darkmoon blade with whatever talisman is best.

     

    Decide for me, which is better?

  4. I'm already planning to start the character over with a bottomless box glitch. Merry Christmas.

    Anyway, I'll lean towards Honest Frank's recommendation for the build, but are those really my best/only option for enchants? I also still want to use pyromancy so I want spell slots open for those. Can you think up a more pyro-flavored fist build? In the meantime, I'll be screwing around with my from-scratch SL22 Bandit with a BK Greatsword (lucky drop). Before I finally pull the plug on my pyro character to redo her, I will farm some titanite and stuff at some point, then make a new character over the file. If there's possibly anything I should know about before box glitching over this end-game character, please let me know, like what to collect, what i should probably forge, etc.

     

    Also some of these summonable anti-griefers are pretty bad at what they do. It's inspiring me to turn my first character into one. I still hope to summon them for help throughout these early parts of the game with my ultra-greatswordsman, though.

  5. My character isn't destined to fist then? I might have to learn how to bottomless box glitch and get it right next time. I'm pretty set on making this character a pyrofistymancer so any tips to make the best such class possible would be great. In the meantime, I'm making an ultra-greatsword centered character who started as a bandit today and I'm just getting his str/dex at the right place right now.
  6. I have one pyro hand at ascended +5 (max) now, and using power within will drain me 25 hp per second when I use it.

     

    I increased dex to 40 for two reasons: one, at first I thought I was going to go for 40/40 str/dex to use the cestus+15 to its fullest, but there doesn't seem to be that much difference in damage from 34/40 str/dex to 40/40 with the cestus according to the online weapon calculator. Two, I went ahead and brought dex to 40 anyway after hearing it decreased cast time for spells/miracles/pyromancy. It was probably a mistake.

     

    My strength is where it is since it's the absolute minimum to wield 50 str weapons. Stupid thing is I did this just cause I could and not because I plan to use those heavy weapons. However my str was already increased when I was bent on going 40/40, and I'd need even more str if I want to use dragon bone effectively.

     

    My endurance is where it is so I have just enough equip load to wear my current equipment, including havel's gloves/boots, below 50% encumberance. I use the flip ring about all the time.

     

    Does the dragon bone fist actually stun more than the cestus? Is the lock-on-shoryuken R2 attack actually good to use? Basically, am I better off with getting a DBF+5 or my current Cestus+15?

     

    Also, I'm using Quelaag's sword +5 right now until my character is in the proper state to use fists effectively.

  7. I want to level up to 120/125 anyway, but I'm not sure what to increase. I think I'm pretty content with the stats I have now, but I don't know what's good for me or not. I want to use fist weapons and pyromancy with this character.

    So I was considering using Power Within, but would need an unupgraded pyro flame for less health drain. I was also considering using a dragon bone fist but I'm not sure if my cestus+15 is already good enough. Before I'm sure of what I need, I'd like some help with this.

  8. I mostly need the pyro flame to try out power within without it killing me as fast. Of course I can get titanite by myself unless any of you honestly didn't need your titanite and had several. However, I used all of my boss souls for quick souls, other than Quelaags, so I would need core of golem souls or dragon bone fists. I'm trying to pvp with fist weapons and have a +15 cestus right now. I'm also SL107 as a sunbro on this character, not sure if that's hitting the range of the 120-125 crowd.
  9. I need an un-upgraded pyro flame and don't want to waste points in int to be able to buy one from Eingyi.

     

    Free core of golem souls, regular titanite, or even just a forged dragon bone fist would also be nice.

  10. Changed out the Loris for Macaque like Ethos suggested, as well as adding Gull and Lotus of course. Since people said missiles, I went ahead and added as much missile as I could/had and switched to a SW lockbox FCS. Maybe there are better choices for missiles? I'd also like opinions on tuning. Should I tune all the parts to cooling to beat the Gull's heat?

    Description:

    Back then (and still today) I completely failed at designing ACs and wanted to beat final boss Zinaida, so I had DarkEVA (currently Hentai Maid) hand me a speedy dual MG design (which worked well), and I guess I basically raped it of every slight thing that made it good for the sake of making it different. It's worse than the original design also because I lacked some parts that were part of the design which I needed to unlock, so I may still need to unlock parts depending on your part suggestions. I don't remember if much/any thought was put into the tuning either. Basically if you ask me "Why the fuck did you use (x)" then I won't be able to answer because I won't remember. Recently added missiles.

     

    This was/is my staple AC.

     

    Tactics:

    Fire missiles. Drop missiles. Hold L1 and R1. Attempt to circle enemy with boost.

     

    Known Issues:

    Gull's hot.

     

    PvP Information:

    I suck/ed at piloting, so this wouldn't matter.

    Notes:

    I like machineguns and would prefer to stick with the ones currently equipped. I would also prefer to stick with the current frame/body parts. I mostly desire a good booster/energy system with which I can fly around freely and comfortably with.
