  1. @Moonwalker - Well they have the emblems almost how I imagine (I don't think they were numbered). I like that team name too, Dark Souls ref ftw @Ogawa Lou - Well maybe the first 8 people would become Muspell 00 & 01, Nifl 05 & 06, Vana 10 & 11, and Jotun 15 & 16. This would work on team building in Story and Order missions, but for 5 people team missions there would be 3 teams on one mission. That would be fixed when it reaches 10 people though. Maybe there could even be a ranking system where we keep track of individual and team statistics. That would let us see where people need work and set up friendly competition and rivalries between squads. It would also help with switching people around to balance out teams if necessary.
  2. Take your own squad like you already have a team, or you mean you would be the leader of one of the squads? Either way works, lol. The names aren't set in stone though, I like them but I also don't. Muspell and Nifl I like, Jotun and Alf meh. Possible replacements for those 2 are Svartalfa and Vana. I don't really wanna use Asgard, Midgard, and Hel though, because calling out the name with a number sounds weird in my head. Actually, based on this pic http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f1/Edda_9_Werelden.png Muspell, Nifl, Vana, and Jotun make the most sense. Another team could be made with Asgard, Alf, Svartalfa, and Hel. Though maybe change Asgard and Midgard to just As and Mid.
  3. Hmm, I'm now planning the team being an over-arching group, while each squad of 5 is it's own squadron. Like for instance: Team Name: Heimar Squadron 1 - Muspell 00 - 05 Squadron 2 - Nifl 06 - 10 Squadron 3 - Jotun 11 - 15 Squadron 4 - Alf 16 - 20 Each member would have a squadron-unique emblem. 00, 06, 11, and 16 would be the team leaders chosen by skill or experience, and operators would be chosen based on member preference or something. Each member would use a squad-colored AC with their squad emblem during territory matches, and the AC name would be their squad & number + what variation it is, for instance: Name: Muspell 00. This would be Muspell 00's normal mech, the one they like the best. This is subject to change. Name: Muspell 00 (TE). This would be Muspell 00 but in a TE damage-based mech, not what he usually uses but figured would be suited for the task at hand. Name: Muspell 00 (HM). This is Muspell 00 using the Huge Missile. Stuff like that. This is probably way too organized for most people to be interested in doing though, lol.
  4. Yea, be like the Ace Combat games again where you say the squadron name then the number, like Mobius 1 or Yellow 13. I'm thinking of the team name Muspell (Moo-spell) or Nifl to get some Norse myth up in here, lol, and Muspell Zero or Nifl Zero both sound pretty cool
  5. I'd try to call people by their numbers too, it may be less personal, but i think it is more involving and intimidating, lol. Not that the enemy can hear your chatting. Maybe that could be an Operator abilty: hacking into enemy communications, lol.
  6. Any of you in or leading a team plan to have all team members use the same color scheme and emblems (the main difference in them being the member #)? I'm probably going to make my own team, and I'll probably do that. Mercenary work that isn't necessary, but i feel everyone using the team colors and emblem would make build a stronger connection and may even add to intimidation factor. Sort of like the Yellow squadron in Ace Combat 4. If there are Yellows in the fight, some serious stuff is gunna go down. I wish you could pick from multiple team "entrance cutscenes", like where your team of 4 could fly in using glide boost as opposed to being carried in by helicopter. Then it could be like enemy ace squadron entrances in Ace Combat Zero. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe7BlZCY_bM
  7. Can you decide to be an Operator? Because from what I remember playing the demo when it was online, it was sort of random. Is there a setting you can choose so if you're a merc you can't be thrown on as the Operator of the team too (or maybe they already aren't able to be operators)?
  8. I bet you fall over all the time if machines can't even stand up.
  9. At most with tech we have now, I can see robots being small guys made to face light weapons and assist infantry. I'm sure a small mech with a good vantage point, targeting system, and a sniper rifle could wreck some infantry (I figure targeting systems are or at least will become better than human eyes). Armored Cores from the games are possible because of superior metals used that can defend against giant tank blasts while being relatively lightweight, and an unknown energy source made from their generators that lets them move so quickly. If we had this unknown energy source and those metals, they could be used for more powerful jets and tanks too. However, if a tank could move as fast as an AC in game then it would be more like a hovertank, lol. Though if we had the tech and materials they should instead make an Arkbird that can just wreck anything from space down, lol.
  10. That thread is sort of different, being about if Armored Cores were the real world. But In this I think we are talking about ACs in game against Jets in the real world. Now if you say lasers from ACs can be put on a jet, long range missiles and radar systems can be put on an AC. How big is an AC anyways? Wikipedia says an F-22 Raptor is 18 feet tall and 62 feet long, and an Apache helicopter is 12 feet tall and 52 feet long. An M1 Abrams tank is about 8 feet high and 32 feet long. A tank AC made from demo parts seem to be around 3 times taller than enemy tanks and maybe twice as long. This would make a Tank AC pretty big if enemy tanks meet M1 Abrams tank specs (which I have no idea if it does). A Biped would be taller. If it can be put on an F-22, it can be put on a AC. Probably. With the size of an AC they stil move as fast as they do, easily fast enough to take cover from a missile. Also if an AC was outfitted with missile counter guns then it wouldn't need to dodge and could fire back. EDIT: Hmm, so an AC in V is only about 16 ft tall... tough to believe... tougher to believe that Raptors are so freakin huge.
  11. Well if a jet can be outfitted with long-range radar and weapons, I feel like they could throw that on an AC. It just isn't in game. I really feel like the area box size should be higher than the buildings, lol.
  12. JP Demo mission using a Med AC with a Heavy Howitzer. Why? No reason. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGAVXMAf3ew I'm tired of playing this mission so many times... I want the game so I can play it in English I also want to punch things with the Howitzer then fire it...
  13. Well an AC could avoid long-range attacks with counterfire or by taking cover, so they could escape an attack. And if AA guns and SAMs are dangerous to a jet at all, then an AC with machinguns and missiles would be too.
  14. Yea.. not very crazy at all. Hopefully he gets more crazy as time progresses, lol. I think he could've been played by Crispin Freeman doing his Albedo voice, lol.
  15. You can see big planes flying over some mission areas but they never do anything right? They would make for some cool enemies if they flew over and rained bombs and bullets down at ya. And while Jets are fast, AC's can be pretty quick too. They could use a CIWS to stop incoming missiles and a Pulse Machinegun would prolly work well as a sort of AA Gun (shots spread out then explode, would be pretty good if they got close enough).
  16. Yea, I can see the helicopter stopping entirely if a mech landed in the blades. Though I feel like the mech would get stuck and be caught in the explosion... And Pile Bunkers aren't necessarily one hit kill, like with the Demo Pile Bunker against the tank it takes two hits (though if you dual wield, they will 1 shot). They are much stronger than the other melee weps prolly to make up for the ammo count.
  17. Yea, I understand that defenses are a big factor, though the 200 is a pretty startling statistic. Was it a shot from the front? Because I figure that kneeling wouldn't help if you get attacked from the back or sides. And it's good to know that the fodder enemies can do some damage at least, lol. And idk if jets would make "short work" of AC's, but they would be difficult to deal with at the very least.
  18. When a helicopter or tank hits you with their missiles and shots, how much damage does it do? I sorta feel like they should do at least as much damage as an AC's weak junk short range missile or battle rifle. Or instead of a tank shooting those giant explosive rounds they could have made them shoot smaller shots equal to a weak junk handgun or something. I feel bad for the tanks and helicopters that can barely scratch you, lol. Also, have there ever been fighter jets in AC games? Because I feel like they could be somewhat effective with high-speed fly-bys. Also, have you seen the blades on those big helicopters? They spin so that the blades pass between each other. Pretty crazy, and I feel that they should damage you if you touch them.
  19. Finishing the JP Demo story mission in under 5 minutes for the subquest. It isn't that difficult http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtyHkf0z6lQ

  21. You mean they don't want us to be missile boats? Yea, I can see that. I like missile boats though, lol. Well in FA flares made missiles sorta useless iirc. Anyways, it's not like missiles we get are as accurate and persistant as the ones used by the heli in the demo mission are they? Because those are just annoying. Also, do you know if the boat boss uses CIWS? Because that would probably make sense.
  22. I see... and Kiwis are some good missiles or something? I would like some hand missiles too, lol. EDIT: Or are the Kiwiws the interceptors and the Stealth missiles are the counters? Yea, that's probably it, lol.
  23. Are those interceptors effective enough to warrant the use of Stealth Missiles? And how many variants are there? Know what'd be cool? Cloaked missiles. Would be pretty cheap though I guess. A cloaking device for your entire mech would be pretty cool too. Would need to be balanced out by not being able to boost (or perhaps move at all) while using it.
