  1. @ Redshirt

You're part of Raven Republic? My team fought you once and I recorded it. I recognize your emblem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Au-fcLrI-k

I'll post my emblems soon, but after seeing all these I don't wanna anymore, lol.

Yeah, it was a clusterfuck operation without expecting anybody to defend it. We all paid the price. :(

Oh, and yeah, we LOL whenever we see your emblem.

    Edit: I meant Irrelephancy

  2. Also, can anyone in ACU actually run 10k+ invasions in mining sector anymore? It always defaults to the lowest turret loadout unless i choose max 9999 which doesn't give nearly as many points.

I think it might have to do with having either a lot of 10k territories of having all of them. RR hasn't been able to do it in Alpine as well, but on the other areas, we can farm from 10k territories; we're now pretty much forced to farm outside to get more points.

The lack of info is also annoying, talk about fucking Namco Bandai and its half-assed manual. At least the retail price has been cut by half compared to the JP copy. It had a 59-page manual full of info though.

  3. No that one is just going to stay at a relatively low point total cuz it's an older territory you got from when you were a lower rank team. You can raise it's value by successfully defending vs players on it, though. The more successful defense missions you run on it the more the point score should go up.

    Ah got it. Thanks!

  4. That thread is sort of different, being about if Armored Cores were the real world. But In this I think we are talking about ACs in game against Jets in the real world. Now if you say lasers from ACs can be put on a jet, long range missiles and radar systems can be put on an AC.

Lol just hijack the thread! I doubt the TC would be back anway.

Just so I can criticize for the sake of complaining and whining, I think they've poorly designed the chat macro for the game. Sure, it's universal that you could use it whether during a sortie or not, but they could've emulated something like what Konami had with Metal Gear Online. From Software just put a big flat fucking list of chat choices that aren't categorized (at least you can fully edit them than simply choosing), making them less accessible than it should be.

Example, I replaced some of the choices with "High-Def KE AC spotted", "Flanker spotted", "Get to beacon 1/2/3", "I'm alt-QQing F U" or some shit like that, then apply with just two d-pad inputs whenever the situation calls for it.

Now I'll have to get another headset again (the one I have sucks).

  5. Yea, I understand that defenses are a big factor, though the 200 is a pretty starling one. Was it a shot from the front? Because I figure that kneeling wouldn't help if you get attacked from the back or sides.

Yeah it was from the front, so they can still be counterattack when flanked. Not a good thing to face head-on in chokepoints though. Also, I'm not sure if parry blades nullify its humongous damage reduction; I was stabbed by a CE parry blade in a free match with a friend at my AC's effective damage reduction angle while kneeling. I still suffered a shitload of AP, but couldn't remember if the damage had been cut.

The usual low AP warning/alarm from teh old school games made me wonder htf it really works.

  6. From what I remember, it just seems like a regular battle rifle hitting you, but without its faster rate of fire as an AC weapon. As for your question, they're just around the strength of a junk part afaik; low(est) tier in general.

In any case, weapon damage varies significantly, which depends on your ACs defense. I've been hit with a x2 fully charged Karasawa (10k per shot; 4 shots available per rifle) with a 4k TE-def AC - only suffered about 3k damage. Then kneeling made it worse; 200 damage. I then tried the usual KE-CE frame (about 400-600 TE def) and received around 10k with ONE shot.

Oh, and there were fighter jets during pre-AC4 games, although they're wrongly portrayed imo. For some reason it felt like a bunch of low-end aircraft that they just felt like aggressor units than actual enemies (except that they 'die for real'). I haven't seen any jet in AC like a Raptor, something that should've made short work of ACs, assuming they're portrayed as such IRL.

  7. Funniest I found was how tali fans went batshit curious regarding her face beneath that mask.

Only for Bioware to use a cheapass edited stock photo. Brilliant! :)

  8. @ Exo:

TL;DR, at that time sorry. In any case, your # 5 argument suggests about recovering EN to an accepted amount after escaping from somebody else; yes, that is possible. Acting quickly on your situation might save you, but your chances are still low after that. Not to mention they will most likely switch your playstyle for that match from offensive to defensive as well, giving your opponent more opportunity to harass and manipulate you.

Anyway, while jammed, HB is your only way out afaik. The main problem with jamming is its ability to negate your movement and boost speed to somewhere around 1 except for HB, but having no EN regen and supply due to the low jamming resist (because you will be always jammed; blame the resist stat) will most likely restrict you from doing that. Of course it won't be instantly 0 EN, but HB or not, you're going to run out of energy due to the low cap.

The point in of PROCHNYI or any high-resist gen is that when you backtrack/escape, your EN gets restored quickly as well because of its jamming resistance; they can rinse and repeat as much as they want, but that won't mean you'll always get yourself jammed from thereon, so you can trade two guns with them while they're just wielding one weapon. At least with that, you could either flank him around and stick on the offensive. With HO gens, it's almost constant that you'll get drained either way due to the much lower jam resist. PROCHNYI has like, the output of most HO gens; if not, even higher than most (save for Vital), and has about x2 cap size. It's up to you anyway.

I have one thing in mind though; in order to fully understand this one, we'll need to know whether jamming resistance affects the degree of the energy being taken, or if it's simply constant and just due to the smaller cap of HO generators in general.

    @ noob:

Midweights humanoids are your standard legs as always, then there's the LW class for the usual lower def/higher mobility thing. Heavyweight humanoid legs have this sort of HUEG damage reduction when at the front while kneeling. For those who have the demo, you can try it out on the tank and kneel in front of it while checking your AP. They also kick hard, literally. Then there's the RJ class. I'm not sure about LWs, but the HW RJs are the legs next to the quad's sniping abilities; quads still have superior firing rate and accuracy when using a kneeling weapon, but are less mobile than RJs though. Tanks, on the other hand can use two kneeling weapons at the same time, but you won't be able to zoom in.

  9. Yeah, PROCHNYI is god.

If someone were to jam you while using high output/low resist generators, you're less likely to survive because they'll just drain the crap out of your EN easily. Plus your movement and your boost speed will be significanty reduced; save for QB, which you'll need, but then you won't have enough EN. Just because you escaped from one ECM'd area doesn't mean your enemy won't continuously do that to you. Not to mention it's fired like a gun iirc, altough only having a limited range.

That enough should limit your movement and get beaten to a pulp by a bunch of jihadists, what's worse is getting stunned by a few shots whilst trying to escape. If you have that godly PROCHNYI with you. which has one of the highest jamming resist stat available, coupled with a good output and large cap, getting jamming only will only feel like you're boosting with a BIRDIE2+FUDOH in ACLR. The only disadvantage is that you need to add about 400 weight for your AC (compared to the other generators), but weight is just something to consider if you want to carry more stuff.

Edit: Btw, anyone practicing/doing their shit in ACV these days? Might probably be a good time for the importers to go crazy for more battle experience when it gets localized. Last I saw a couple of weeks ago, not much were playing.

But who the fuck am I kidding, I haven't been touching the game as well anyway.

  10. ^ What he said.

IMO 2v2 and 4v4 would do enough for the aptitude tests and practice. I think 2v2 is good if you want to see where a teammate excels at, assuming they play as a team. Then 4v4 could probably applied on how good can that member apply his specialty.

Honestly I'd forget about who's more skillful than who, and focus on who works better with who, employing different players based on their 'forte' situation.
