  1. I would use extension missiles if I wasn't using GRIFFON, but GRIFFON is so great.
  2. I'm experimenting with the GRIFFON and really like it. Watching some vids of Yaka play with his LWB have helped some. My biggest issue with PANTHER is the lack of load. I find that GRIFFON with batteries is way better than something else since I can still spam with it. For legs, I'm trying out VIXEN. While I lose some speed, I gain many other things (PANTHER stat-wise is only better in AP, weight, and energy drain). I have the second best turning legs in the game (best is a light quad leg that's probably crap), better jumping, better defenses, better stability, and better load. The turning and load are major selling points for me. With PANTHER, I'm unable to use any back weapons with batteries. With VIXEN, I can mount a missile launcher which works with this tactic: early game poking with NYMPHE and GRIFFON with batteries for support. Drop both once GRIFFON runs out or soon after. GRIFFON/NYMPHE combo should net a good chunk of AP from the opponent. If batteries still have a charge, retain the batteries. With this poke/drop strategy, I gain enough speed to play an aggressive game. Updated design. Changes: Frame completely different. Left arm weapons and optionals. Different extensions.
  3. I was actually looking at doing something similar to this, haha. Sucks I didn't get ever get to fight him. Now I have nobody to fight, nobody to test my designs with. If only I had someone who works hard every single day working to be the best teammate they can be...
  4. Well, playing around with stuff and looking at other people's stuff gives me ideas. OB is really fun to use. I find the /UL more fun to use, but/UL2 seems to work better. Is there a time where /UL is better? What kinds of things can OB be used for besides jousting and maneuvering? I watched the Culver City finals vids between Yaka and PD, so good. What LW legs are good for aggression? I know of PANTHER, L2, and I've seen VIXEN used on 1 of Niji's designs. Do quads and CQC go well together? I know Niji has a CQC/Mid-range quad. I was thinking maybe dual GLL for rapid damage and drop for speed boost. Are there any good CQC combos or perhaps CQC/Mid-range combos that don't make use of PIXIE3?
  5. Yeah, I know about PANTHER legs. My reasons for not using them: less AP, load, cooling, speed, turning, and part break resistance. L2 gives me superior speed and handling to assist in aggression. L2, however, has low stability. S4 is there to squeeze as much as I can out of those legs, which is vital since this AC is meant to get into the thick of things. I'll experiment with S2, but S4 makes me feel safer. As for the missiles, I want a quick spam/drop setup to give me an early game speed boost with potential to score a good chunk of damage. These reasons are pretty much the same as TMRaven's Black Mamba design. That design did help me a lot with this, so they are pretty similar. I was looking at handgun/handgun for left, but a vid of that design had the rifle run out, so I put the R3 on. Poking with rifle/missile is always a nice option. EDIT: PANTHER/S2 works way better, just tested.

This AC is built for aggressive CQC fighting with OB for massive speed. The VULTURE2 and /UL2 combo allow for lower heat inducing maneuvers and give me more armor and option slots than GULL and /UL. GRIFFON is used as a powerful energy weapon for early game damage to try and get AP lead and to control the match. This AC is almost identical to Yaka's 3 Cherries. Tactics: I'm still ironing out the kinks with how I fight with this. The idea is to be aggressive and to bulldog it's way to victory. If AP lead is taken, then use that to set your opponent up for aggressive maneuvers. Known Issues: Low AP and fragile. Can't brawl well. PvP Information: This AC has done well sometimes, but other times I fall flat on my face with this. If I really focus I can get results with this AC. This is my most fun AC to pilot and my personal favorite. -------------------------------------------------- Notes: Niji and I made some nicknames for 3 Cherries. It was fun. I only remember "Threesome Wipeout" and "Ninetoes Mars" (second name explanation: Ninetoes, BL1 character, has 3 balls). Yeah, some of these nicknames are pathetic.
  7. I guess it's part personal preference and design specific in some cases. <3
  8. Where is my heart in that picture?
  9. I really think it's a personal preference thing. I'm going without it on most designs now for the opened option slots.
  10. I would change the arms but then I'd be reaching arms overweight (yeah, I'm pretty close to that limit). Even if it doesn't make that much of a difference, I don't want a stupid buzzer going off before I drop the missiles.
  11. I guess it comes down to personal preference. I'm going with no EC since that opens up 4 option slots and should I go to charge, I get my energy back quicker. It also helps with energy weapons by getting the PHAGE for maximum performance out of energy weapons. LOTUS isn't about capacity, so it all works out.
  12. It works for me. It also opens up 4 option slots which can be really nice depending on the design.
  13. I wonder if I should switch the FCS to the more square FCS (LIMPET I think?). Might help with getting weird angles, but I get a feeling the missile lock time may completely screw up MV (if it's even longer, IDK).

This AC is built around the 98L for purple lasers of doom. The 98L is a good weapon, but lacks the killpower of weapons like SHADE. GRIFFON/SPARTOI/RM3 is meant for early game damage with a 98L blitz for the finish. This is the Mini-Sawa AC partnered with Wraiths of Drac, a true Karasawa AC. Tactics: Start with GRIFFON/SPARTOI/RM3 for early game damage. Try to get 2 locks with SPARTOI before firing. Once all missiles and GRIFFON is out, purge them and use 98L aggressively taking advantage of it's purple explosions to overwhelm the opponent. Known Issues: 98L blitz probably isn't the best use of it, not that I care. PvP Information: None with this version, previous versions had some ammo issues. -------------------------------------------------- Notes: Purple lasers of doom are fun.
  15. Lack of weight tunes, different arms, and different decoys.
  16. I plan on making 1 or 2 more tanks just to have some variety. So, are the only good tank legs BOAR 1/2 and LHT92 or is GRIZZLY somehow also decent? I think I'll make use of the heavy chaingun (because I can) on a later tank design.
  17. URCHIN on this!? Why would I commit such an atrocity!? I forget where but I remember you talking about not using that optional. Does it actually decrease the amount of energy in the red zone or does making the red zone appear smaller do crazy psychological things? And yes, I'll try it out.
  18. I can't fit it unless I switch legs. And no, ATLAS is still too heavy for switching to rifles. I don't want to switch the legs on this tank since these have the best energy defense and well the shape of them fits the name. Causticity by any chance?
  19. Part of the reason for URCHIN on this is as a training bot (has dropper strategy where I still need to make my drop faster and smoother, EO, extensions, and insides). I also saw URCHIN as another tool that could be used with the speed boost after the drop. It does feel slow to me though, so I guess I'll probably get rid of it at some point.

The name comes from the shape of the legs and the idea of being the main body of an assault force. The BOAR legs have low load capacity but the best turning of all viable tank legs, so I figured I should go for a light tank. The /UL2 core gives me more option slots and hangers to work with while the S3 arms help to keep energy drain low but provide me with better defenses than the XS arms. The GERYON is lighter, has a faster reload (and therefore faster weapon switch), and more ammo than the GL. LGL is very good on tanks, so it's there as well. Dual HP with hangers adds flexibility to this design. Dual handguns or LGL/handguns can be used for CQC depending on the situation since hangers provide extra ammo. Tactics: Main weapons are GERYON and LGL for mid-range combat. Don't be afraid to fire the GERYON a lot, you have 28 shots to work with. Just don't get careless with it. LGL/handgun or dual handguns can be used for CQC since hangers provide extra ammo. Also, use your decoys. Known Issues: Low AP, but defenses help to make up for it. PvP Information: None. -------------------------------------------------- Notes: The camouflage is US 3 Color Desert.
  23. Another update for those who actually care. Changes: Name and paint URCHIN added
