Wow... seems like a lot of the real world went into this game this time around...
-
apex in techno sounded pretty cool to me.
-
idk, I liked FA. Well, better than I did AC:4 at least. Anyway, I'm gonna reserve judgement on AC:V until I can actually play it, regardless of whether or not the cover art looks like crap...
-
I don't see a problem with it. it already looks good, and knowing FROM, they're probably gonna put one out.
-
I personally don't know why the canopus is bashed so often... It isn't a bad weapon. Just a bit slower...
-
which is why I said that'd be the worst DLC. It's bad enough that they put in the antena....
-
They could add in older weapons, just upgraded to meet the newer damage standard. lol, I suppose the worst DLC they could ever come up with though would be stuff based on Gundam.
-
hmm... the boosting techniques would give people to reason to practice the setups in the campaign and test modes. I think it'd be fun to master some new booster setups.
-
I think this is a very telling picture. Who else notices something missing from the side of the AC?
Side of the Ac... Side Boosters. I don't see any on the AC in question. At least, no active ones, anyway...
-
Let's be honest, unless AC fans have changed dramatically over the last 3 or so years since I stopped playing, they're generally egomaniacs who think they're some kind of unique and special snowflake, and wanting to prove their as good as whatever anime hero they live up to. They always want to go 1v1 to prove they are the greatest pilot in history. It's one of the biggest reasons getting team tournaments into the mainstream was so hard, back in the day.
That's when the better pilots show up and shut the wannabe's up, plain and simple. And personally, I'd enjoy getting into a team v team match, I think it'd be fun. Not all AC players are egotistical, either... Just the majority who think that having the best parts for the AC type automatically makes them like Heero Yuy or Setsuna F. Seiei.
I don't care what From says. 1 v 1 is the core of AC5. Team play is a side mode that I'll enjoy when I don't feel like playing 1 v 1.Unlocking parts via online sounds utterly dumb. Everyone should have everything and be separated by how well they play only. At least with offline, terrible AI made getting things easy. If AC5 turns into "get the best parts" I want nothing to do with it until there is a save file.
And I agree with this... It's definitely not fun if it's a race to see who has the best parts...
-
Yup can't wait to get my hands on it.
-
EDIT: I also do not want hidden changes. we're all stat whores here. If a change to a part/tuning changes something, I want to know what the hell it is.
Ditto. Hopefully, though, they'll keep the 10k+ ap. that made the game a bit more manageable for me, cuz I couldn't do too much against other AC's in the previous games. I'm not exactly the best pilot out there...
-
I think that heat was a bit OP if you took advantage of it. Quick firing, plasma, and grenade weapons, as well as the good ol' flamethrower would deal some massive damage and then overheat you, dealing some more damage.... epic idea, if you ask me.
-
hmm... a laser blade OW!! And yeah, while I wouldn't be using it too much, an OW would be pretty cool...
-
It'd be fun to play the originals again. hell, they could even just make portable versions of the games like they did with AC3 and the rest. Update the graphics and throw in some extras that the original games didn't have just to entice people to pick them up. Though I'd pick them up anyway...
-
Ok, so I'm not a great pilot, and my aiming sucks without the targeting computer... But I still think a match without one hit kill weapons is more fun.
-
To be honest, I probably wouldn't use OW's all that much. It's more fun to just pummel them with superior fire power and excelent piloting skills, and one hit kills are just not that fun.
-
I see the logic, but that would make LWs pretty OP. HWs would have to be buffed to hell and back to stand a chance against a QB-equipped LW if they don't have QB themselves.
True... or they could give HWs a fast turn rate and a decent fcs for ranged weapons. And if that doesn't work, they could just give all ACs QB, but nerf it down depending on how heavy the AC actually is.
-
Well, I'd say quick boost would be good, but maybe shorten the time the boosters are active during the boost, or hell, make the noise for the boost so loud that it actually draws enemies towards you. And maybe make it so not all AC's have the ability to quick boost. Have lightweight mechs use Quick boost to the greatest effect, midweight mechs can still use it, but not as well as a light weight, and heavyweight mechs can't use it at all.
-
Realistic in map design/logic and AC aesthetics maybe, but I doubt function will be much more realistic than at least the PS2 games. Hopefully a fair degree more than 4/fA though. that shit was ridiculous.
Ridiculous, but fun. And I'm looking forward to seeing the mechs sized down. it'll be interesting to see how a 5m tall mech will handle any stealth missions that may crop up. And the physics as well.
-
Thanks guys. It's been taken care of.
-
Ok. Suggestions for the blades? I didn't do the mission for KIKU, so my best bet would be the Moonlight or the Kojima blade...
EDIT: Nevermind, Moonlight did the job just fine.
-
Alright, I've been stuck on this mission for a couple of days now... I can't seem to deal out enough damage to either of the mechs in the mission or keep enough ap to finish the mission.
this is my current set up:
Head: HO1- Tellus
Core: 03-aaliyah/c
Arms: A01-Tellus
Legs:L01-tellus
FCS: FS-Judith
Generator: GAN01-SS-G
Main Booster: MB107-Polaris
Back Booster: 03-aaliyah/b
Side Booster:SB128-Schedar
Over Booster: KB-Pallas
L and R arm weapon: LR01-Antares
R Back: 047ANR
Shoulder: SM01-Scylla
Hangar L and R: LARE
Is there anything I need to to to improve the machine itself, or does anyone have a decent strategy to beat this mission?

I agree, noob. Storyline is just the same crap recycled over the past few games... some random apocalyptic event happens, forcing humanity underground to recover, thus paving the way for the corporations to make some serious bank. Then along comes a raven and fucks society up, even though that's generally not his/her intention at the beginning.
Now I'm not saying that that isn't interesting, at least in some ways, but they could at least come up with something original this time around.
