    • Would an armored core do good or bad for the world?

I would have to say good.

    • Does the world need armored cores?

Yes. Todays weapons are too low tech by now.

    • Are armored cores even an engineering possibility with, say, our current technological breakthroughs?

    Yes.

    • What purpose would ACs serve on the battle field? Think about the roles current weapon systems serve and find gaps.

They would be good to use against aircraft or giant weapons of mass destruction (ex. alien ships.)

  1. Sure, but it wouldn't have been as satisfying.

Plus the CG here honestly looks pretty dated.

This movie's saving grace as a film is going to be whether or not it actually has a decent story.

Otherwise it's only going to be a movie that made it's money and the majority of the audience leave not even remembering half of what they just watched.

  2. I was personally hoping that it would match Dredd in bringing back gruesome gory deaths and what not.

But it seems that this flick is aiming for PG-13 which in the end kills it's hope of being anything more than another movie riding the HASBRO wave.

  3. Watched the first ep. myself. I swear the one thing it made me think of was fucking School House Rock.

I'm still taking credit for Tsu's death.

  4. Best thing to say is that the AC series is mainly built up with loosely based sequels the only dramatic change in story being AC:AA to AC3 which seemed to be more of an attempt to reboot the series rather than continue the story that started in AC 97.

Otherwise it is safe to say that humanity in the AC universe is constantly going to war and some genius digs up ancient technology and uses it to make a super computer to force humanity into a position so It can't spread it's virus across the universe blah blah.

However, there is no real reference to "ancient" tech in AC4 and ACFA, only outdated weapons and machines that all have a clear past. The only pseudo alien like weapons being the newest and most recently built Kojima powered Arms Forts, Particle Cannons, and the NEXTs themselves.

From this I believe it is safe to say that there was no true Normal AC as the way we would imagine them. None of the Normal squads show any sign of customization, all of them clearly mass produced, even the ones that are supposedly elite squads. I believe in the 4th gen series that the NEXTs were in fact the first ACs to utilize interchangeable parts tech.

To that theory I would push forward that 4th Gen NEXTs could very well be considered the Grand Fathers of all true Armored Core.

  5. Well, as long as word gets out (and it needs to), it's all good.

I believe you can only view teammates, unless it's Battle Royale. Haven't had team versus in Free Battle just yet.

Teams only get to see teammates. It would allow some degree of cheating otherwise.

  6. What they shoulda did is brought back the EO cores from back in the day;

ACVD is the tissues to the endless boxes wasted once ACV segregated servers

First: Auto-Attack Guns are technically Exceed Orbits. Plus you got the drop turrets from some weapons that you can dump around the map.

Second: ACV servers were segregated from the get go yo. Look if you bought ACV and/or you got a group to hang out with, play it. If you don't have either then just don't because I doubt going Solo all the way through is going to help unless you are committed to making some badass UNACs and/or signing up for Mercenary missions.

  7. My main question would be asking FROM how much do they actually think about how gameplay and story intertwine. I mean with these last four games they do seem to connect pretty well just as the Souls games online gameplay ends up being perfectly merged with the lore of the series.

I guess that's off topic and has been discussed extensively before. Haven't beat V-Day yet so I'll add more once I actually have finished the story.

That UNAC invasion mission with the cocky pilot was by far one of my favorite missions so far. So much glorious AC destruction.

  8. It makes sense. Think about how much Chernobyl has been overgrown with plants and animals even though it is still radioactive. The Kojima particles have been displacing for god knows how long since AC4/FA so it makes sense without the Dictatorship that was in V gone that people would start exploring the areas once off limits.

I actually really like the overrall AC4 to VD connection. It really adds a mystic and aw to what we experienced in the 4th gen games and even more so with the old PSone-PS2 era games.

When it comes right down to it, we the players since the first gen games are now story wise the legends and myths of 5th Gen.

If this were Dark Souls you could say we were all playing as the Lords fighting off the Dragons.

I think the big picture is pretty freaking epic even when you include how nightmarish it was to play the worst installments of the series as a whole.
