  1. That is definitely the case. Personally I prefer the more community focused XBL. Players are more communicative with party chat, private chat, friends of friends, etc. With the heavy multiplayer focus of Xbox games there is a lot more voice chat going on and I think that would work great with the more team based focus. Also I have hundreds of friends on the xbox so it just makes more sense for me to stay on it. Just because we are a smaller fan base doesn't mean that we have any less dedication and appreciation for the series.
  2. It isn't that they are the worst it is just that they are a MW/LW hybrid. They have the highest KE defense of LWs, but less than MW. They have decent MWish stability. Average turning of MWs. They are also not very drainy which is great for those who stay in combat mode a lot... the DPS damage LWs rather than burst damage LWs will benefit more from it. The Shasta is similar in that it is more LW than it is MW but still trying to do the hybrid thing.
  3. All the stuff is in-game... I'm pretty sure they mean exclusive to gamestop as opposed to amazon.
  4. It isn't my actual gamertag... it is my JP account. I only use it to download JP demos so it isn't that big of a deal. I've got too much built with my actual gamertag to hand it out to people I barely know.
  5. That's actually exactly what I was talking about Silver in the post I just posted:
  6. I have good news for people who have an xbox and were not able to play the demo. I can hook you up with it. Last night I found a way to pass it to my friends so they can try out the series (side note they are more than just a little excited ). My only condition is that you aren't a douchebag on forums and that I can chill with you in a voice party chat to get a good feel for your personality because it requires me to give some of my personal information and trust you. I want to help people get hyped for the game so this is your chance to get some practice at piloting and building ACs a month before the game comes out. Let me know if you guys are interested. Btw shoulder units are a pain with their diverse stats... grrr. Almost done with the shoulder weapon sheet though for the spreadsheet. I did stumble on another part that wasn't on the wiki Niji... if you would so kindly update the stats for the URL-17 BIKANER rockets then I would be very happy. Oh and I need to PM you the formula for scan mode energy regeneration.
  7. That won't work right off the bat since the amount it gets upgraded is random for every box you upgrade... so instead I want to focus on the FIXED variants and figure out tuning later to see if we can figure out a guestimation formula and get a sort of "average" of each affinity for each weapon when it is fully upgraded. That will take some time so for now we'll stick with FIXED variants so people have something to work with. The FIXED variants are sort of intended to be an average with no "affinities" whatsoever. It is something that I want to do in the future though, but I don't want to jump into it until we have a better understanding of the system.
  8. Why thank you Berserk... I had to get going quickly after posting this. lol...
  9. I downloaded it on the 360 and you can play it as much as you want... the problem is that it is no longer available for download. Like Ulti up there I've been practicing on the demo constantly to keep my skills up. Maybe I'll post a vid sometime of my piloting so I can get judged by you guys and try to improve a bit more. I'll have the spreadsheet up soon it is going along smoothly. I've got a decent layout for the assembly sheet and all I've got is the shoulder sheet left for actual statistics. Then I have to go through and code all the buttons to allow equipping from each individual sheet and then build in the garage system so you can load and save ACs all from one place. I'll do the minor calculated statistics on the assembly page like Load Capacity, EN regen and what nots for the initial release. But I won't do extraneous calculated stats until the next release.
  10. Yeah wall jumping is pretty much all it takes. There isn't much of a rocket science to do it. It is much easier to do on the urban maps since there is so much to wall jump off of. It is especially easy since floating in the air costs no energy whatsoever... so all you really have to do is sit in scan mode, float and wall jump every once in a while to refresh your height. Or you can just use a quad. lol... As far as O&S and Solaire making cameos... that would be pretty hilarious. Btw, using test data from a Japanese video. I have cracked the formula of scan mode regeneration. I've tested it on the demo and it works as expected, but I'm going to PM niji with the details tomorrow so niji can try testing somethings just to see if I got anything wrong with it. From how the formula works, in a logical sense (realism type logical) it seems like FROM might have made a mistake and "flipped" things. Gameplay wise it is better that they did it this "flipped way" rather than the way that would make sense. I'm putting the formula in the spreadsheet I'm making as well so people can get a better understanding of their AC. I'll be doing a small preview video of how the spreadsheet is going to work tomorrow or the day after. I'm building in ways to build your AC directly from the different sheets and when you equip the part all the other parts' stats color red/blue depending on whether the stat is better or worse in comparison. And then a garage system that stores the ACs and you can load them up later without having to save multiple spreadsheets. I may even be able to build in a compare sheet incase you wanted to compare the pros and cons of two different but similar ACs. I'll also be taking requests for calculated stats like Damage per Second, Defense per Weight, Energy per Attack Power, or other calculated stats that people would like to see.
  11. I used sniper rifles a ton in the demo on a LW... they are awesome.
  12. Thanks for the work you are doing on the wiki Niji. I'm cross referencing with the ACU wiki and the two JP wikis I'm using to get this ACV Builder Spreadsheet done. I've got all frame parts and internal parts done, all I have left is the arm/shoulder/overed units and then I need to clean up the actual Assembly sheet and add in a garage sheet where you can save your AC to the garage sheet and load it from there. Later I'll build in thing like comparing two ACs and calculated stats like DPS, Energy per second, etc. I'm also using the wiki for proper translations of the stats... lol. The two wikis I'm using do not have the following two parts so if you could please fill in these stats on the wiki ASAP that would be amazing: UFC-10 (FCS... not the D/UFC-10) SONNE GNE530 (Generator)
  13. Hey Niji... this looks to be a study of tuning and how it affected the Karasawa. Is there any good information in this video that we can learn from? Or anyone that can read some japanese. www.nicovideo.jp.am/watch/nm16914724
  14. WOAH!!! That's quite the find... so ammo mags with the LW arms that have 2 for shoulder magnification will be amazing. Oh that makes me happy. Except they have more weight than MW arms and a decent amount of EN drain. I'll probably make an AC to capitalize on that. All the double shoulder arms are pretty heavy and EN drainy. I can't wait to get my hands on this.
  15. From what I hear they have done almost no PvP so you should be good to go. And thanks again Niji for the wiki update. I needed that info. I should have my initial spreadsheet builder ready to go soon. I'll start with just the frame and internals and add the arm units and shoulders later as well as more comprehensive calculated stats.
  16. Who said it took this long to figure out? This is just the first time it was on video. We've done this a couple times in the demo and had it done to us once.
  17. And next batch... all 5 of the videos today are definitely worth watching. Video one is a video of some Karasawa gameplay. It apparently does about 70% of the damage that the guy deals through the whole game (says the description). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_QtHJO2r5c Video two consists of a guy using pile bunkers in a team game and also uses ANOTHER MOON a variant of the moonlight that was available as DLC when you pre-ordered one of the portables. Pile Bunkers in Team Play Video three is a guy who doesn't just joust with the shotguns, but actually uses them with proper movement techniques like drifting in order to apply constant pressure on his opponents. He also uses the heat howitzers. Proper 1v1 CQC Video four is another one of those giant mech battles that show up in the territories every once in a while... this one is versus Exusia which I believe is also the final boss in the SP game. 4 men vs Exusia "Boss" And the final video is of a team pulling off the objective rush tactic using pile bunkers. I knew someone would give this a try eventually, but didn't think it would be this effective... lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJHGjXod6C0
  18. Here's a video of a guy using two of the Murakumos... they play like boxing gloves. lol... I love the combos he throws with them. http://www.nicovideo.jp.am/watch/sm16867808
  19. Thanks for that summary Niji... sounds like I was close. I'm pretty sure it is intended to be random to encourage people to keep leveling up weapons for a certain affinity to see if they can get better stats. Should be interesting going around the community trying to find weapons with better stats and trading for them. And I'm also fairly sure this is a ploy to get you to play more trying to max out your stats.
  20. From what I understand the FIXED and DLC SPECIAL parts are meant to basically be fully upgraded versions of the weapons that are average among all of their stats with no specializations. This makes them work as parts that you use for more serious matches like for territories until you get your upgraded weapons up to par. This also allows you to compare various models of the same weapon type and see which model is better at what. So say one rifle has better attack power than another model, it only makes since that if you want a high attack power rifle you would pick that one to upgrade towards attack power to maximize the potential attack power you could have. The FIXED and DLC SPECIAL versions of the parts could also be worth it for when you want to test new weapons, but you don't want to take the time to fully upgrade one. If you were to use a unupgraded one you would get a bad impression of it because of its lower stats so instead you test with the FIXED versions in order to get a general idea of how the weapon will perform. And the fixed stats are only in reference to weapons. The actual body parts and internal parts are pretty much the same parts you will get in game. Apparently the differences from what I understand is that they do not take up garage space, and when you buy them you are unable to buy their fixed versions from the store (not a big deal since you pretty much have the same weapons... you will still be able to buy their upgradeable variants). Also you are not able to trade or sell any of the DLC parts. I will probably buy the other half of the set just so I can jump straight into multiplayer and save the garage space for more performance parts. From what i understand is that when you upgrade stuff there is a randomness factor to how much it upgrades. So if you want the best of the best of a weapon you have to trade for the better stat versions of what you want or keep upgrading new ones and hope you get lucky enough to get the better stats this time. It is a design ploy to get you to keep playing the game... and it gives you something to do with the constant amount of cash you are going to be getting. Hopefully Niji clears up all this soon... I want to know the whole story behind it. Not just my understanding of it. I like the facts.
  21. With how big the maps are I'm glad they cut the boundaries down for 1v1 matches. Glad to be back on ACU... damn host switching stopped me from viewing. I thought I was banned... lol and I just got here. I uploaded a ton of videos the past few days if you missed them and I'm uploading more tonight. http://www.youtube.com/user/TehGodlyPerfection I'm quite excited about the DLC... hoping for new maps and parts but who knows what we will get. 3 new DLC will be great for keeping the game fresh (I'm not counting this first batch because it's nothing significant). I wonder what the timeline is on the DLC. Also for those who hadn't heard I believe the unique major part count is 345... I spent time counting the parts in each of the individual DLC sets. This includes Heads, Cores, Arms, Legs, FCSs, Boosters, Generators, Recons, Shoulder Units, Arm Units, and Overed Weapons. The pre-order consists of 168 parts which is one of the two half set DLC. So if you want access to all of the parts (their fixed versions atleast) you need only need to buy one of the two half sets and pre-order the game. I might do it just because story/order missions are just a means to an end for me. I'm in it for the multiplayer.
  22. Here's something I posted at the gamefaqs board with someone asking the same question. This is just my opinion. I enjoy the more social 360 community as people are actually used to using their mics and making friends. Next batch of new videos... This first one is short and simple... it is of a beginner player who happens to score a draw in a duel. Draws are pretty rare so I figured I would throw it up. [ACV] Amateur 1v1 results in Draw This next one is a part 2 to wardog's last video where he got killed by a Mass Blade in ranked... lol. This has tons of ranked 1v1s so if you want to see some competitive play this is the video to watch. [ACV] Dozens more Ranked 1v1s The third one is the part 2 to the Team Deathmatch video I posted. It is also placed in the urban city. And it shows some pretty nice maneuvering around the buildings for those interested. Btw does anyone know what that little square symbol is with the gun? Is that the ammo mag symbol? Or is it something else? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0zT8v2p7x4 And the last one is a simple overed weapon demonstration of the multiple pulse (shotgun type overed) and the huge missile (a verticle nuke). I love the tracking on the huge missile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayehgB7BA4I Looking forward to the updates to the wiki. Have your fun and get to that wiki soon. lol... I wanna do some stat comparisons.
