The name comes from the shape of the legs and the idea of being the main body of an assault force. The BOAR legs have low load capacity but the best turning of all viable tank legs, so I figured I should go for a light tank. The /UL2 core gives me more option slots and hangers to work with while the S3 arms help to keep energy drain low but provide me with better defenses than the XS arms. The GERYON is lighter, has a faster reload (and therefore faster weapon switch), and more ammo than the GL. LGL is very good on tanks, so it's there as well. Dual HP with hangers adds flexibility to this design. Dual handguns or LGL/handguns can be used for CQC depending on the situation since hangers provide extra ammo. Tactics:Main weapons are GERYON and LGL for mid-range combat. Don't be afraid to fire the GERYON a lot, you have 28 shots to work with. Just don't get careless with it. LGL/handgun or dual handguns can be used for CQC since hangers provide extra ammo. Also, use your decoys. Known Issues:Low AP, but defenses help to make up for it. PvP Information:None.--------------------------------------------------Notes:The camouflage is US 3 Color Desert. Shirtless Crackhead
This looks pretty similar to someone's (can't remember who's) OB tank, probs wanna look at what they did and fiddle with mainly hand weapons, HP/HP is legit as fuck, but maybe RS/HP or something with a bit more poke like R2/HP would be better, if you can fit it. The cannon combo is pretty rock-solid all around. If this was the tank you were worried about missile defense, your main concern is verts, you should be quick enough provided you got some juice to boost-dodge most missiles unless they're stupid close. But this is an excellent bot, I would say, to learn a-type with, since having decoys all the time will be really beneficial and there's no worry about popping one out at the wrong time really. Queen Drac Wraith
I can't fit it unless I switch legs. And no, ATLAS is still too heavy for switching to rifles. I don't want to switch the legs on this tank since these have the best energy defense and well the shape of them fits the name. Causticity by any chance? Shirtless Crackhead
Crap, I guess if it's what you can fit, it's solid. Not like HP/HP is weak or anything.
Queen Drac Wraith
I plan on making 1 or 2 more tanks just to have some variety. So, are the only good tank legs BOAR 1/2 and LHT92 or is GRIZZLY somehow also decent? I think I'll make use of the heavy chaingun (because I can) on a later tank design. Mom
Grizzly is good, it's as good as Boar1. Tank legs go like this: Boar2Boar1/GrizzlyLHT LHT is pretty niche. The other 3 are plug and play. This bot looks familiar. Somehow you managed to make it 260units heavier and have 200 less defense than mine though, gg.
Queen Drac Wraith
Lack of weight tunes, different arms, and different decoys. Edited July 26, 2014 by Queen Drac Wraith
Queen Drac Wraith
Updated design, went the light tank route.
Shirtless Crackhead
I'm just wondering from TM if that's the best Core/Arm combo for hangers w/ regards to defenses.
Queen Drac Wraith
Anything better would probably have to heavier in the core, meaning ATLAS and EOS, both of which lack AMS and don't have as many option slots. Luckily, S3 arms with /UL2 core is around the same drain as MACAQUE/EOS, so I can still run GERYON well without losing out on energy because I went lighter.
