Well I don't use Holofernes on heavier ACs, but that's just based on my ideas of boosters that I only have anecdotal support for. Like I'd rather use Aaliyah or Lahire on the heavier frames because they have more QB power, which means you accelerate more quickly as opposed to accelerating for a longer period of time. I mean I don't know where the diminishing returns of using a lower power, longer duration booster overlaps that of the higher power, shorter duration ones. Honestly, though, I think the differences are so minute that it doesn't even matter--just use a high power booster.

Chode had it right. It's more specifically called a "heavy-mid." I'm pretty sure calling it a mid-heavy like you did early on in the thread says, "A middleweight for a heavy-class bot," rather than , "A heavyweight for a midweight-class bot." Besides, no one called it anything besides Taurus, actually, who just said it was a midweight leg (which isn't technically wrong). Nob said it was a leg with advantages from both heavy- and mid-weight legs, and I called them NSS-L frames. Regardless the general idea is that, like noob said, it's an AC that is defensive--focusing on high defenses and above-average AP--and has enough speed to make minor range adjustments. NSS-L fits this criteria moreso than Glint, Aaliyah, 063AN, Lancel, or Latona for the lighter legs as well as Hilbert, SS-L, SS-LL, and Soldner for the heavier legs.
  3. If I feel motivated enough I'll post it some time. It's a perfectly good tank imo. Only problem is that it has a blind spot at the range where hi-lasers are still accurate. D:
  4. Oh I should mention that I also use Linstant/G on my tanks too, werd.
  5. Vincent's from Cali, huh.

Yeah 063 FCS is good. And the thing with the powerful side boosters is that you really don't need to ever go forward if you have the right set up for a NSS-L AC--you just sidepedal the whole time. You don't have to worry about overshooting or anything because most of the time you'll be at a range where the duration of the QB is just about powerful enough to play a position game. Anything closer and you just use the sidebooster to gain distance.

NSS-L are good for defensive bots. Glint and Aaliyah are more often for defensive bots with the option of going forward (specifically moreso the Glint legs whereas Aaliyah is for mid-light AP gouging). With Taurus' weaponset any of those legs are fine. NSS-L suits his current frame the most, though. And Latona legs look like shit and play like shit against tournament-level designs. On another note, I don't agree with Schedar on the NSS-L. The big thing, since you're going to be a defensive AC, is your lateral movement. Having a powerful side boost allows you to both dodge and backpedal into the position that favors you the most (plus, it affects your quick turning ability too which is great on defensive ACs). Personally I'd use Lahire, but that's not everyone's thing so try Holo or Aaliyah too. OH ALSO TOO. Either pick an FCS with better dual processing or arms with better maneuverability because the low dual processing compounded by the low maneuverability is going to make the Antares/049ANSC combo really difficult to use.
  8. I use Schedar on my tanks, word.
  9. It's okay. You'd probably be garbage anyway. AND OH. Overseer change made me so giddy.
  10. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v477/Dar...llionfungal.png It doesn't have an impact on midgame mech play because you're going to have more than 3-5 hellions, and with early game the only prevalent difference is that BF hellions are no more effective than regular hellions at worker harassment.

    Durarara!!

I don't remember exactly but it's some really lame "and they all live happily ever after" thing that felt really plopped in. You gotta watch for the specifics, mang.

Keep watching it for the horrible ending.

    Dominate

Tellus legs were never that good. Generators got really heavy in 1.40; try Judith gen. 047AN wasn't really that good, especially with your weapon set; try Hogire or Judith. Judith side booster is pretty bad overall; try Latona or stronger. I could go more in depth if you want.
  14. This isn't meant to be a mockery of your poor grammar, since I'm assuming you'd want it as flawless as possible for a grant. I'm only going through with a cursory reading, mind you. So the only things I'm looking for are grammar and style/flow issues. Also if it seems like I'm nit-picking small things, it's because I'm assuming you copy-pasted this thing and might miss it through your own proofreading. Red things are the errors that I'm certain are wrong and you should definitely change. Orange ones were the things that I wasn't too sure of or the things that, at least, I would change if it were my writing. 15. Dustin Browder talks about the core values that went into designing StarCraft II as an "eSport" at the Game Developers' Conference. The whole presentation was an hour long, but I found it pretty interesting and gained some respect for Dustin Browder even if his standpoints were simply for good press. It was refreshing to me to see him continually referencing his past opinions on things such as unit variety and concepts of a "fun" game and how they have changed since, implying that he is learning and is willing recant his current viewpoint should it turn out to be detrimental to SC2/eSports/etc; for example his point of the thor not being a sufficient substitute for the goliath and "cool" units being bad for high level play. That gave me a little bit more hope that the issues where Dustin Browder come off as mildly ignorant of said issue (as in "Dynamic Unit Movement" = "Bad Pathing" or "Ladder maps for ladder players; tournament maps for tournament players") will eventually be resolved in a well-informed manner, regardless of whether or not I agree with the decision.

    The Witcher 2

It looked kind of dumb to me.
  19. Yeah that's what I've been doing, but it kind of defeats the purpose of having an embedded player in the first place.
  20. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiji. I don't know how it works at all or if you have any control of it, for that matter, but is there anyway that you can add the fullscreen button to the forum's Youtube embedded player thing?

    Zap

Why would you want to increase the drain even further on an AC that needs a vertical advantage to fully utilize half of its weapon set?
  24. Can't vouch for AC4, but for FA, PS3 lagged and glitched considerably more for me.
  25. He still can't turn regardless of leg type.
