  1. The theory about cannon recoil is sound. However, while witnessing some of Niji's playtime, I haven't seen anything to say that quads have such 'stakes' or stabilizers to prevent them. It might be that I haven't played the beta, or don't know enough, but with sniper rifles and such they 'deploy' into a sniper mode like with all other ACs in ACV. Granted, that deployed mode might reduce recoil and prevent being knocked back by the recoil of the guns. I preordered ACV too. Dark Souls and ACV...I need a job.
  2. I changed it, and this isn't to be a dick but to support you. I don't like using the Famas, and I should've worded my response better. I wanted the AUG to shoot a bit slower, but only because it jumps around so damn much. I try using the commando but...ergh, despite being one of my favorite guns sometimes the spread is awkward. I use the Stoner as much as I can-it's a fucking awesome MG/AR combo, incredibly portable for a Machine gun, and yes it does rock even without the silencer. Somtimes however..it just makes me too slow. For the most useful gun in the game...there is none, but I do accept your quote on the Bops community as a whole. Most people use the FAMAS or AUG. Their gun sounds are so distinctive I know them right off the bat.
  3. I resent that, Jackson. I really do. I don't use it for the fire rate. It's the fact that I'm more used to its spread than the Famas-in fact, I don't even like the FAMAS that much. For some reason it's just not a good gun to me, personally. I've also tried the Swarvoski scope on it-I have to learn how to burstfire it properly like a G36 in Combat Arms, otherwise the scope goes all hairy on me. I like the fire rate, but sometimes I wish it was a bit lower so that I wouldn't accidentally waste about 20 rounds on one guy. I normally carry claymores, but I'm thinking of using other special items...for some reason, I never get kills with the Claymore. I also use flash and regular grenades. Btw, if you see someone shooting down your helicopters and spy planes pretty often, it's me. I carry a Strela-3 on most of my customs.
  4. This thread's probably long dead, but eh. Necromancing it is! I play Black Ops seldomly, but I'll tell you what-The AUG and FAMAS are probably THE best weapons in the game. G11 is good, but occasionally the burst fire gets on my nerves. I normally rock my AUG with a Masterkey, but recently I've switched back to Warlord Pro so I can add a dot+suppressor. Does wonders when I'm Hardlining and trying to avoid being caught. if anyone wants to add me on PSN, it's arclabe. I'm willing to get my can kicked by forum friends.
  5. Actually, in this case you don't have to. The weapons can be anything from shotguns to sniper rifles, even railguns, so I'm open to suggestion. CAse in point, this was just similar to the loadout I had from the game. The frame stays just because I was replicating it, but any weaponry suggestion is good for me.
  6. I recently got Front Mission 3 for my PSP, and was really just marveling at how good the graphics are for Playstation games. Sure, ground texture and some other things are a bit spotty, but the action is good, the Wanzer models are excellent, and overall it's a pleasing game from the 1990s. I got the stupid idea to try and 'make' a Wanzer in AC4. Parts are available, so I thought why not? Much of its inspiration was taken from the Zenith, a sort of 'poster unit' that's used by much of the cast of the Front Mission series. If you don't see the tunes, it's because I didn't necessarily count the tunes that went into the unit. All 271 of them that I have go into the various spots except special boost, I think. 03-Aliya-H Hogire-C Hogire-AM GAN01-SS-L Yellowstone01 03-Aliya-G Main-Judith Back-LB-Hogire Side-AB-Judith OB-Linstant/OB Rarm: Aszaz Larm: 03-MOTORCOBRA Rback: Cheyenne02 Lback: Stheno Shoulders: Beltcreek03 The tunes are, as I said, quite spread out to where I would have to individually count the units displaced. Most of the FRS, however, occurs in the Capacity, aiming, and FCS categories and is spread out over all the others save Special Boost and Primal Armor, I believe. I'm not even sure this qualifies as a unit to be honest-It was make an Armored Core in AC4 week this week, so I just decided to roll with it.
  7. I was interested in the AC vs. Real Life topic, and understand completely what the argument is about. Problem is, the enemies besides MTs almost never use missiles, and we're not sure what kind of missiles they do use. Point in short, the missiles could be just generic all-target missiles, not armor-busting hellfire missiles. Same thing with the Bofors and 145mm guns on the Spooky-totally agree, but there are issues. Also agree on the Raptor Vs. Predator topic. Predators are good against small to medium threats, but would have to be launched en masse in order to avoid being wiped out against a large scale enemy such as the SHORAD. F-22 would be better suited to that sort of warefare. How this is relevant to Armored Core-Armored Cores are similar to F-22s. Perhaps their armor is a type of reactive armor that can easily stop large amounts of gunfire and some missiles, but because it releases heat it causes the generator and radiator to overheat in order to prevent the wash from burning up the entire unit. Purely speculative of course, as it takes over three antitank mines stacked one on top of the other to blow the turret off an Abrams, and just the turret. The Armored Core is ideal for large-scale warfare, and while MTs and Helos are good, they can't withstand the threat of another AC without en-masse support. Depending on the MT, however, they can deal massive amounts of damage to an Armored Core, AND withstand a mass amount of damage. I HATED those laser-blasting MTs in the hydroelectric plant where you have to prevent the assault on it, I believe. Drove me nuts, because the damn things could fry an AC with around 5-6 shots of their plasma guns. AS for the migrants, that seems like an interesting proposition. Not too sure about how From will go about it. For the AC garage in MISSIONS...oh fuck yes. YES. YEEEEES! I hated not being able to change my loadout! I HATED not being able to go back to base and reassign weapons on the field, and then having to deal with shit where I couldn't use my weapons to the fullest advantage! No game does that justice. In real life, planes and tanks and etc. have the ability to RTB to a supply depot or train and refuel/rearm according to what their mission is. This is PERFECT. No more will I be stuck with missiles when I have a huge amount of MTs to shred! I will be able to exchange weapons, and LAY WASTE TO THE FODDER! WASTE, WASTE, WASTE, HA HAH HA HAH A-ahem, excuse me. New development is new and fantastic. Let's hope it keeps up. And Penguin Deus, chalk me up for some coffee drops. I'm going on ambush.
  8. You said because otherwise it makes the unit slower? I'm not trying to make an uberfast unit. White glint has a lower weight threshold, I believe, as do Aaliyah legs. I've equipped the unit with the BFF laser rifle and the E700...I think...long laser rifle from Rosenthal. Acrux on back left, while the E0300 is on the back right. I think those would overload the WG and AALIYAH legs, as well as most if not all lightweight legs.
  9. Heh, I know. Tuning is part of the entire process...I just forgot this time. And I don't think the KRB Judith is the Assault Armor version...I was referring to the regular OB. To be honest, Vincent, I did change things around, but I kept a light core. Still, the values for defense were well over 6.5k. I could've switched to either the White Glint Core or possibly the Latona...or maybe I have the Latona and the White Glint core was the second choice for it.
  10. Good god all freaking mighty. I DO suck at remembering the number sequences for parts...YES. It's the newer BFF reg legs, the 063AN. I don't put the tuning up because I forget, honestly...I should start tacking down values. I almost never change them, although I should. One reason I always use the sobrero is not for energy supply, however. I use it for the insane recovery speed it has. Probably not so much a good idea, but it works in my favor occasionally.
  11. Whao. This one might be worth quite a lot...I'll take this advice and try it out on the weekends when I can play. BUt, grad party this weekend. Might not be able to, heh. Eternus, thanks for the info. I dislike the...047 head, however. I think Lahire has better overall stats, but I'll check again. As for my FCS, it's Judith. I originally meant it to be a hard-hitting laser bastard, but I'll switch things around. And yes, that energy cannon...it's not the winged one. I hate that weird-ass numbering system...
  12. This is actually a design setup that's similar to a mech I have in the works drawing-wise. It's not...standard like the rest of my units have been, with the laser blade and missile setup for all encounters. This is most likely made for destroying enemy Armored Cores. However, I haven't saved the schematic yet so I'm not sure how it would fare with lag abode, etc. etc. AC Name: Tresmegistos Head: White Glint/Head-I might change this to Lahire. Core: Soluh Arms: Judith Legs: 067AN Generator: Sobrero Booster, Main: Ekhazar Booster, Back: Ekhazar Booster, Side: Lahire/Holoferenes Booster, Over: KRB-Judith R Arm: 0320 Laser Bazooka L Arm: 051AN Laser Rifle R Back: 0300 Laser Cannon L back: SIRIUS Hi-Laser cannon R-hanger: E3XX Laser Blade Flares: 063ANEM Flares I haven't tested it out on actual players yet, so I have no idea how it performs. Despite the aerial boosters, I sit on the ground a lot and then take off in order to evade enemies and shots. I will have to check the performance, but I like it myself so far.
  13. I think that they should bring in AC5'd models of the original PS-series Armored Cores. Say for example..Annihilator, or whatever it's called, from the opening of AC:MOA. I just think that'd be interesting. Of course, no broken parts. That makes it no fun for anyone. You could add in parts from certain other games, which I think would be fun to see what would happen if you AC5'd an AALIYAH or White Glint-Joshua O'Brien's unit.
  14. I want the Blue Blood sword, but I freaking hate the swamp and the low drop rate for Broken Swords...and the Broken Sword is in the swamp, which is a pain in the ass to navigate. I swear, I faced that rolling girl with the Meat Cleaver and died about three or four times...hated it. Not to mention the fact that most everything else can run in it while I sit there and stagger. I just like the moonlight. I'm decent enough wit ha lot of weapons, and...backstabbing's not my thing...period. I'm not sneaky at all. As for the trolling thing, I was a terrible player at the time, and still possibly am, and so I had skills I thought were cool. Turned out they were almost useless in the end. The people tagging me had higher leveled spells, reached me from about ten feet away due to lag, and dual-wielded nasty weapons. Erf...I just suck in PVP, lol.
  15. Yes, in my uses it is. I hate blunt weapons, magic or fire damage gets through shields only a little bit, Blessed Claymore is a weapon whose ores I cannot seem to get my hands on, and I hate that swamp BEYOND ALL REASON. The Dragon Smasher is good, but takes forever to swing, and the claymore itself is only a mid-tier weapon. TBQH, I would like the Blind, but I don't want to have to kill Selen Vinland for it. That is suicide. And yes, shields HAVE been problems for me, depending on the enemy. Mostly red eyes, but with the moonlight I laugh in their faces. I also attract trolls, apparently, as players with much higher soul levels tend to raid my system for no apparent reason-I've had the same player come back TWICE to try and kill me, and I succeeded in beating his ass out the second time. Besides, a sword made out of moonlight? Freaking awesome. As for Armored Core, yes it is an OP weapon if you can use it correctly. Most everyone DOESN'T however, because apparently the Eltanin can beat it easy.
  16. And it's been the most overpowered, sought-after weapon in the entire franchise. In Armored Core, it has the highest attack power and second best range out of any laser blade up until Last Raven where it is nearly superseded by the ELF-3 blade and the CR-4 laser blade with over 12 range...which is kick ass, but I like the Moonlight. In the 4th generation games, it's known as a powerful blade with one of the longest ranges yet again, with incredible PA-attenuation damage but with high latency. For Demon's Souls, it's one of the only weapons capable of completely ignoring shields, with incredible attack power, the ability to be upgraded, and the boosts it receives from the main stats it has. It's heavier, I think, than some weapons and a pain in the butt to get, but it's impressive even in NG+.
  17. I swear, I've been waiting for broken-down 3D models of Armored Cores to come out for freaking EVER. I hate it that not knowing what they look like makes it so hard to replicate, draw, or learn from. But seriously, those are some cool screenshots. Gotta admit though, that sniper is scary. Looks like an M82 on steroids, heh. But it seems like they've evolved a lot too. Maybe the 'berserk' mode has been removed from the game as well?
  18. I think there will be more of an 'Arena' online mode if that is the case. It'll be a lobby like most fighting games where people can line up to fight each other, like in the tournaments described above. Of course, what I'm saying isn't the actual idea at all, just thinking what might crop up. Also...what happened to all the AC5 pics? they up and vanish because...something went screwy with the watermark?

    13th's Mechs

These are mechs I draw. I don't think I'm that talented, but at least what I do is good in my eyes. I take a load of inspiration from Armored Core in some designs. Probably the design I'm most proud of. Link is just if the image fails. Ka-10 Broadsword http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/076/1/1/ka_10_broadsword_by_shrrgnien-d3bvamv.jpg
  20. Wait a second. Is this demo supposed to come out on the TWELFTH of March for Japan? Or is it supposed to be released on the Twelfth in our timezone, which is really the thirteenth of March in Japan? Because if it's the former, we can cash in on awesomeness Friday.
  21. I agree with Niji that the 5-meter AC is far more realistic than having one that's 15 meters tall. I found it incredibly ridiculous in Last Raven to see little midgets running around and the ACs an obscenely huge size. Having a 15-foot tall AC is PERFECT because it allows the tactical possibilities to expand. An AC can now hide in an urban environment and can easily sneak around opponents. It'd be even better if they added extensions again like the CROW, allowing you to hide amidst crazy ECM noise. Maybe they'll enable the buildings to prevent radar detection at low altitudes, like sea-level. That would prove it even more difficult to track an enemy AC.
  22. OKay, maybe you guys won't really like this idea. But I know about Roms, and was thinking about downloading the Playstation 1 Armored Core ROMs. I want your opinion on which one I should get though. Should I go ahead and download the original AC and then go down the line? Or should I just start with Master of Arena and Project Phantasma?
  23. I've seen that too. I've been reviewing the videos for details because I fcking want this game, and I'm interested in the designs. Right after it smashes the MT, half of the feet fold up and several other panels close. This breed of AC seems to be highly detailed...almost like the Transformers are in the new movies. Besides, half of those images are new. It details more about the core and even shows the front of the legs.
  24. Wow, this is crazy. Everyone ended up arguing over the boosters and the cannon...XD Okay, this is what I got from all of your posts: 1. Switch to Aaliyah main. Better flying. 2. Get rid of Linstant Generator. Find something else. 3. Dump tunes into radar refresh and get rid of the ones in the head and arms. 4. Drop the Sniper Cannon, and switch to Virtue. 5. Switch Marve and Laser Rifle for better weapons combination. 6. If I keep the Judith main, switch to Aaliyah B. Since this is what I have, what do you all recommend would be the best course? And no, Godfather, I'm keeping the Glint head. :/ I've already mentioned this in the very first post.
  25. This is a NEXT I developed off a whim. I'm not sure if it's so good, but getting the White Glint movie and VOB version got me riled to make a new design. Of course, it'll look similar to Paladin. It's just my design philosophy, apparently... Main Body Head: WHITE GLINT/H Arms: Latona Legs: AALIYAH-L Core: Soluh FCS: Hogire Generator: Linstant Boosters Main: Judith Back: Latona Sides: Lahire OB: Linstant Weapons: R Arm: ER-705 Laser Rifle L Arm: 04 Marve Assault Rifle R Back: 049ANSC Sniper Cannon L Back: CHEYENNE02 Spread Missiles Hangar L: EB700 laser blade Tuning: Load Capacity KP Output Energy Output Lock Speed Missile Lock Speed Head Rectification Body Rectification Arm Rectification Leg Rectification Quick boost/Main Quick boost/Side Quick boost/back I'm not gonna try to name the values for each of those, but you can probably divide the 423+ FRS units into them. Anyway, this was based off a design I had for a story about a NEXT pilot who survived the LINKS War and was 'technically' on nobody's side, although she leaned closer to Line Ark. Enough of that. I know I use the White GLint head in all my designs, but to be honest, it's the only one that looks any good to me, yet I know there are better ones out there. It's just a key design aspect. I made this unit to be kind of a PA lancer-it pierces PA instead of breaking it. Of course, it'll probably differ due to your own experiences, but it's just something I came up with. Tell me what you think, criticism and whatever else. Btw, anyone know a good paint scheme for something named like this? Trying to figure one out, and I think I need decals...I just need ideas for those decals
