  1. Wow...That is surprising. Got a lot of good feedback this time Thanks guys. This should help improve it... And I know about the functionality/style idea. I just tend to think of the White Glint head as the Queen/Egret head of Armored Core For Answer, and it's part of Shoji Kawamori's only design for ACFA. Hm...thinking I might follow your advice and change to a rifle then instead of a blade. It's more of a last ditch thing anyway.
  2. I don't favor AC designs, for some reason, that don't have total functionality. For example, a specific area's lacking in firepower and you can't attack well. This is why I liked old ACs where you could usually have something like that, instead of having just a specific AC killer or a mission beater. Of course, you can still do that, but it's not nearly as common anymore. So here's my design. Head: H/White Glint Core: Soluh Arms: LATONA Legs: L/White Glint Main booster: Ekhazar Back Booster: Ekhazar Side Booster: Lahire Overboost: RIGEL or LINSTANT FCS: Yellowstone01 Generator: AALIYAH/G Weapons R Arm: Avior Laser Rifle L Arm: Eltanin laser blade B-Left: OGOTO/Travers grenade cannon B-Right: SALINE-05 (You'll see my reason for this in a second) Shoulder Weapon: BFF interlocking Spread Missiles R-Hangar: Omer quick-draw blade Stabilizers Head: WG-Horn Leg, Top Left: Soluh Tuning Load Capacity: Fulled up KP Output: Fulled up Generator Output: Fulled Up Lock-On: Fulled up Missile Lock-on: 20 units PA Rectification slots: All maxed out This will probably get a lot of flak because I'm still using White Glint parts. It's a personal preference however, and some of this is for style, not functionality. It's a fairly aerial unit, and I'm still trying to fix parts of it. Call it a WIP then. Here I DID try to get a mix of light/middleweight parts to get a good balance of AP and speed, however. Hopefully I will have succeeded.
  3. AC4, in that paragraph set you gave us, Gary, sounds more to me like Armored Core Last Raven and previous games, where you actually had to think, and fighting was about being smart. Not reflexes. I don't hate AC:fA to kingdom come, but AC4's gameplay and mission environment variety is just so much better to me than fA's barren wastelands. It's basically nothingness you fight in. And he was spot on about the Arms Forts: MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF SUCK that are just annoying to kill.
  4. Okay! I've read the reviews based on Armored Core 4 and Armored Core for Answer. Personally, I say those reviews from the game sites fucking suck if they've never played Armored Core before. The series was NEVER about the level detail, and was more about the ability to take a series of parts and make it into your own kickass fighting machine built to obliterate armies. Armored Core 4: This plays more like an Armored Core game to me than the ACfA. For example, your energy is actually severely limited by the standards, as Quickboosting is useful, but drains energy faster depending on the regs and the generator you are using. Also, there are HUMANS here. Actual people! Like Last Raven. The game also throws at you some of the craziest environmental missions i've seen yet. in Last raven, you had places you couldn't go unless you had night vision or biological targeting. In AC4, you have to rely on your targets' lockboxes to find them, especially in A Dark Knight's March. The unmanned weapons are replicated too with the Swarms of Red Eyes mission. The game isn't obscenely fast, and I think it fits better in the AC universe. The story is actually fleshed out better here too in my opinion, thanks to Emil's narration. Also, the graphics for the cutscenes look better to me. Armored Core For Answer: Bleh....too fast in my opinion at some points. the levels don't really have as much detail as AC4, and I do know why that is. But in AC4, you at least saw hangar areas, people running around screaming, and it felt like an old Armored Core. This feels a bit souped up for people who dislike AC's normal charms. You can make a GAME BREAKING design fly at over 3000kph in permanent OB. Also, the end missions are kind of lame. So what? 2vs.2 in NEXTs. Boring. 1 vs. 2 in NEXTs. Boring still, because you can Kojima them to death. 1 vs.4 mechs? FUCKING EASY. Switch to 1.00 regs and blast away using Salines. I still LOVE the designs. But a lot of the places are empty. Has the Earth really turned to nothing but sand in such a short amount of time? Or do you go into desert places more often? Anyway, the Arms Forts are KINDA entertaining. The smaller mobile units were a lot harder in AC4 because they could move. The Arms Forts are GIGANTIC! but lack the punch that comes with destroying or battling such an abusive target. I like White Glint's parts now, I like a lot of the new stuff. But seriously, I'd rather have AC4's mechanics. That's all for me. What's your take?
  5. I was just wondering. But how do they operate is what I want to know. Do they have a firing arc or some such, which is why they're fun to use? Or is it something else? Personally, I'd find back howitzers fun. Combine that with OP-INTENSIFY.... Evil. Evil thoughts.
  6. Okay, I heard that there were parts called Howitzers in Armored Core: Silent Line and Silent Line portable. Is this true? And in your opinion, do they work well? I've not heard much about them, although people I've seen on the forum generally love the game, as well as many of the parts. Includes stealth apparatuses that go on the shoulder. I just want to know, because I'm thinking about getting Portable for my PSP.
  7. As it turns out, I fought against someone with the 067 BFF build. Had a slug cannon on the back, as well as Cheyennes, I think. Similar set up to Hari, really. I tried my 1.00 scheme with the 1.40 build you've helped me with, and I found the results interesting: Maybe it's just my style, but my 1.00 scheme won on the first try. The 1.40 won 1/3 games. Iunno. Again, maybe it's just me. I'll keep your advice handy though and use it for the build I had for 1.00.
  8. I'll gear another schematic for 1.40 then. Thanks!
  9. If that's the case, I can always spam forward stabilizers right? I said ABUSIVELY FAST, though. I never indicated a direction! XD Anyway...maybe it's just that I dislike BFF parts. None of them seem to work the way I want to. WG head to me seems to work perfectly with what I want. Exhazar....I'll see if it fits. I'm not using shoulder bits anyway, so I'll keep the Glint Arms. Only reason why Judith wouldn't hack it is because of the change in with the Exhazar core. Eltanin I may switch. You're probably right about that. I've gotten the same signal about boosters, so I'll change them out. And I spam shots all the time to get people irritated. Also helps to have plenty of ammunition and a decent fire rate, instead of Marve's fairly high rate and low ammo count. I'm using regs 1.00 right now, not sure if what's being used online. SALINEs tend to work better on 1.00.
  10. In AC4, I was using a design similar to the old Glint's setup, yes. Sorry if that was a little muddled. Probably right about Ortega being fairly bleh. I'll change it to Lahire or Holoferenes. I 'MIGHT' attempt an online match with it, but I'm pretty certain it'll get bunked pretty fast. But, give me your opinion, too, on if it'll survive an online match or not. Thanks for the critique, though!
  11. I've tested this in both AC4 and AC:fA. In truth, thought it looked cooler in ACfA because of the White Glint parts. Essentially, I did this as part of a story I'm thinking of doing for the for Answer world. So if it looks too much like an original White Glint setup, that's how it was meant to be. XD Head: WHITEGLINT/H Core: Soluh Arms: WHITEGLINT/A Legs: JUDITH Arm R: MR-R102 Assault Rifle Arm L: 07-MOONLIGHT laser blade Back R: SALINE05 Back L: OGOTO FCS: Judith Generator: GN-Sobrero (The obscene power output is what I need.) Main Booster: Hogire Back Booster: Aaliyah Side Booster: Ortega Overbooster: Linstant It's abusively fast, and in AC4 I originally had a Sirius laser cannon on its back, sans SALINE. it fried Aretha, no problem. Final laser blade slash was epic. Comments, thoughts, criticisms are welcome. No random flak please. XD
  12. I am at a loss. Four, five different AC designs. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Maybe it's just me and the PSP controls for Last Raven, I don't know. But Zinaida...HARDER than Baby's Breath, probably as hard as Nineball Seraph...She's a demon god. S'all I can say. Maybe you're right and I'm doing it wrong. *sigh* I'll check it out again...
  13. I've got one more AC to beat: Zinaida. Destroy Internecine. Anyone got any ideas? I'm at a loss o.o PSP version.
  14. I'm gonna try these set ups out. Normally, I fail at Micro Missiling, so screw me Thanks for the advice. Glad I turned to the people here at ACU.
  15. Okay. I've killed South Nail. But I can't kill Bullet Life! Good lord, the FINGERs fucking piss me off! Any ideas, suggestions? Btw, Last Raven Portable is what I'm playing on.
  16. Nineball. Evangel has a linear gun, but so does Nineball XD But I can't see how Evangel's Oracle, no matter how good it is, can face the might of Nineball. Sure, our favorite villain's laser blade is weaker. But in a fast paced match, Nineball would wipe the floor with Oracle. Just isn't possible, despite how we can mostly kick Nineball's ass
  17. Yeah, trying to run on LRp. I'll see if I have the ananda yet, not sure. In the meantime, Hazel? Hm... Any other replacements, in case I have an OB core?
  18. ONe of the many things I still adore about old AC games is the heat factor. You've got to be good enough to avoid heat, as well as have a badass radiator. There is already a generator topic, so I asked, 'Why not have a radiator one?' I'm using the G91 now as a generator, so I'm looking for a good match up in the radiator section. I got an R76, but I still don't think that's good. Advice?
  19. I'm now officially having a hard time on a mission. It's not really anything like the last ones I've asked about, but it's annoying as hell and I can't get rid of this AC for his parts. It's AC Panzer Messiah in Shut Down Generators, with the Tank Pulverizer after it. I WANT to kick his ass for his awesome part. But it's hard, because I've got to deal with those crappy flaming MTs. Any advice so I don't waste my micromissiles for nothing?
  20. Exactly as I implied. Micromissile arms will not work on lockless targets XD
  21. I have NIX and PIXIE3. Tried the Pixie3+a Crest machine gun and it failed miserably. I'll buy the micromissile arms I sold early and waste his ass. The only thing is that I'll need rockets...
  22. Destroy AC Intruder. This is right before you destroy the generators.
  23. Killed it! Nearly got an S-rank, but I got hit too many times. Anyway, now I'm stuck on Evangel. I nearly killed his ass but again, I probably can't keep up with him with the way the old AC controls work. Normally I would QB and hit the control stick left to do a dime-turn, but I can't do that here. So, I've nearly killed him using the OGRE. Any other suggestions? And before you say 'use this certain part not in the shop,' just remember I may not have it yet It's my first Last Raven playthrough.
  24. Either my AC isn't fast enough, or I can't twiddle the thumbsticks fast enough. No matter what I've tried so far, it's not worked. TRied using Micromissiles, but they looked like they ran out of fuel or were destroyed after a short distance. Plus, the little bastards still hovering around the battlefield won't stop pouring forth from the pyramids. Ideas/suggestions?
