    Battlefield 3

Just got my first ever PS3 today along with Battlefield 3, I am blown away! Who's all playing and when can I find you. I'm still getting used to this fancy technology. Wireless controller is pretty sweet, at first I was like "why is my controller cord so fucking short!" then I realized it was used to charge the sucker. Also I'm going to need an HDTV, it's hard to read the writing. My username is Nomrah333

90's pretty much ruled. A lot of the music had that laid back feel, or almost lost feeling. It was thick in atmosphere and could really take you places.

Nine Inch Nails was one of the only bands I've seen live, it was during the With Teeth tour so I guess that sets the bar for me pretty high. Here's a hip-hop/rap song that I thought was pretty good when I was younger, the way he rapped with the music and beat meshed very well, but mostly I really liked the background music, only now I know that he didn't come up with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHHT7dTmw8U Also this song. I thought it set a strong vibe and atmosphere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ww-TQUeA3E I haven't heard any rap songs that sound like this in a long time.

I'm still convinced hip-hop and rap only translates well onto albums. The ones with live performances always come across as messy, the live bands I've been seeing hardly contribute anything to the constant indecipherable barrage of vocals by one or two boisterous guys tromping around on stage. I've got a question, has any live hip-hop/rap performance ever evoked any level of emotion from any of you? It seems the performances manifest into the lowest level of mental activity, just look at the guys rapping, their mouths are hanging open, blank looks on their faces, a complete failure to articulate words, also the the way they move around it looks as if they are bored or tired, nothing seems to be together, it's almost as if they really do not care. They do not care to deliver anything powerful or meaningful, they do not grasp the concept of emotional execution. Is that simply not the point of the music, if so what is? I can totally see why all the young kids pants are falling down if this is all that they listen to.

What I really don't like is the complete lack of creativity, originality and musical ability. It all ties back to what we discussed earlier about hip-hop artists constantly ripping off others music. Watch the video and wonder why the hell he's even holding a guitar, also I must add he is one of the worst singers I have ever heard in my life. Care to inform me why I should consider this joker talented, or worthy of this level of fame?

Sure, although maybe jay-z's next for Super Bowl 2012, live band and all! EDIT: I went ahead and checked out your jay-z, first video I click on he's got Oasis's "Wonderwall" playing, then I skip forward and I hear AC/DC's "Back In Black". Is this a good example of the live hip-hop performances you guys are speaking of? Sounds like shit, did he really just open his own show with someone else's song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Xp_ge6RtP4

Here's what comes to my mind when I think of hip-hop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjbII5xqG8s Also forget that hip-hop live band shit, for the most part that's just the result of too much success and corporate backing. An assortment of studio musicians payed big bucks to put some live music together to revolve around some guy rapping. I highly doubt Jay-z or Kanye played any big part in putting that music together, the musicians simply used their expert knowledge to compose something to play while the guy raps around on stage. Also the super bowl performance (black eyed peas) for this last years super bowl was one of the worst performances I've ever seen, what a complete mess that was.

Why can't good ol' Wiz take his love and passion from this classic tune and use the inspiration to craft something completely new? Is he lazy, or simply incapable? It doesn't take long at all to write a rap, how about use the rest of that free time and delve into the wonderful world of musical composition.

I've been patiently waiting for this shit to die off, since all gimmicks and fads come to an end sooner or later. I feel it has reached its peak already, it has nowhere to go but down at this point. I remember this new breed of hip-hop really starting up with that damn soldier boy song and little wayne, a bunch of electronic/hip-hop with inappropriate lyrical content. This was different than rap, targeted towards everyday middle-school adolescents of various ethnic backgrounds instead of just blacks. Now I literally have heard songs on the radio where a girl is singing in a sort of "baby" voice about sleeping with strangers. I'm left to wonder what's next to come? Check this filthy shit out. Cashing in on the Gaga fans for sure.
  11. For sure, nothing spells danger quite like rape. Stones was not kidding when he said Cold Blood will always come out on top, it's almost impossible to be ready for danger in its most radical form, anything could happen. "The Outlaw Josey Wales" came to mind when designing this scene, only this time around there was no hope for poor Owen. "Fate of the Ninebrakers" has opened new dimensions. Why of course, only the best for a legendary Raven. It's too bad though that PD didn't get to enjoy the sheets more, he's got so much on his mind. Thanks for the comments everyone, I might get cracking on the second chapter hopefully sooner than later. There is still so much more to be revealed!
  12. After Reading PD's "The Return of Owen" I was greatly inspired to try my hand at the art of fan-fic writing. I came up with a premise that takes place after both PD's story and Lukav's story. This takes place about a year after the end of Lukav's fan-fic where *SPOILERS* Raor ends up defeating Lukav Jr. and Sr. and establishing reign over a new controller. Link to PD's "The Return of Owen" which also links to the original "Fate of the Ninebrakers". http://armoredcoreun...topic=2405&st=0 I must be honest, after coming up with the story, I started writing and I realized it was turning out to be a little more difficult than I previously thought it would. So much respect goes out to the valiant efforts of the previous two authors! I'm not sure if I will be able to write any more chapters in the near future (I have so much more planned in my head!) , but here is chapter 1 of "Enter the Raven". I am hoping this will be found enjoyable and appetite the thirsts of many as noob works diligently on the fine comic strips for PD's "The Return of Owen". But this one mainly goes out to PD for his outstanding story. Well enough talk, enjoy. ------------------------------------------ Armored Core: Enter the Raven Disclaimer: No one owns any Armored Core, it’s pure subjectivism. Chapter 1: Familiar Faces, Aging Pasts Aboard a large ocean carrier, many Ravens are destined to test their skills in an upcoming tournament which will decide the fates of those who believe themselves to be the best. Pilots from all corners of the globe are gathering for a special event hosted by the infamous Raor Stones. Meanwhile a pilot by the name of Penguin Deus is embarking on this journey with an agenda that goes beyond prestige… Pilot Name: Penguin Deus AC Name: Demon Eyes One of the most revered pilots in the Raven world, he has recently come out of retirement to participate in the world tournament. He has many battles under his belt and has proved many times what it means to be a top ranked contender in the Arena. Known for his calm and cool demeanor, he has garnered a devoted following over the years. Upon returning to the active Raven fold, Penguin Deus donned the Avenger Face as his emblem. Some believe it symbolizes the burning desire for vengeance he feels after the untimely death of his long-time friend TM. Penguin Deus sits upon the upper deck and observes two young men trolling about the ship in an effort to outdo each other. One is wearing a gasmask and the other is sporting a mid-length haircut and a leather jacket. Their names are Magnus and Altaire, two rival pilots engaged in an endless conflict. Pilot Name: Altaire AC Name: Ego Trip A Raven who derives great pleasure in making newer pilots suffer. Considers himself to be amazing, he is known for his antagonistic personality. Claims to have trolled Magnus. Pilot Name: Magnus AC Name: Ink Blotch A pilot whose identity remains a mystery. Some say he is untrollable, although Altaire disagrees. Having never been seen without his gasmask he revels in his obscurity. Altaire is making his route causing civil unrest and boasting to anyone in his path. He then notices a man staring at the sea who pays no attention to his antics. Altaire: Who does this guy think he is?! Has he truly not noticed my greatness? Pilot Name: Taurus AC Name: Handsome Man A humble pilot of eastern origin, he has a deep understanding of all things. He loves gazing up at the stars in the night sky. How deep is his love? Many would like to know. Altaire: What’s your style? Taurus takes a moment before replying, staring off into the sea. Taurus: The art of trolling, without trolling. Altaire: The art of trolling, without trolling, what the fuck is that?! Show me some of it. Taurus: I just did, now go. The crowd begins to laugh and jeer at Altaire, stirring him into a frenzy. Altaire: Wait, what? You clearly did not troll me, any fucking retard could tell you that. Taurus: Crowd has spoken, now get out myface. Just as Altaire was about to respond, sandwiches from the crowd began to fly in his direction forcing him to duck down and take shelter within the bowels of the ship. PD observed the whole scene and a smile lit across his face. PD: That’s definitely my man. He starts towards Taurus’s table. PD: That was smooth. Taurus: Yes I know. PD: Mind if I have a seat? Taurus: Yes no problem, we will do chat together. PD and Taurus take a quick glance around as if to make sure no one was listening in. PD: So tell me what you know of the man who runs this tournament. Taurus: Raor runs secret operation under disguise of world tournament. PD: Cold Blood. Taurus: Yes. I have proof he is funneling corporate funds by manipulating the controller. PD: Corporate greed. Taurus: Yes, absolute power. PD: The Power Elite must be taken down, show me the documents. Taurus: Yes of course, I send to your PDA. PD: Thanks Taurus, you are a great friend. Taurus: Pleasure is mine. Taurus winks at PD PD clicks his tongue and shoots an imaginary bullet at Taurus with his index finger. Taurus catches the bullet, anchors it above his mouth and drops it, then proceeds to rub his stomach, nodding his head with a sly smile. PD: Pax dude. Taurus: C’ya round homie. Penguin Deus Heads down into the ship to his private quarters. He locks his door and takes a seat on a luxurious mattress, he then proceeds to whip out his PDA and access his mail. He identifies Taurus’s message and opens it. PD: Good man, lets see what we’ve got here… Subject: Raor and corrupt power in Layered. Sender: Taurus Due to inside info from friends, internal cyber detectives Niji and LCC, I have reason to know Raor is behind political and social unrest in Layered. As you know, one years ago, controller was destroyed. It was work of Raor and Lukav Sr. Lukav planned control of new controller, Raor betrayed Lukav and now Raor owns controller. He manipulates Layered and corporate balance to benefit himself and furthers his control. This secret info only known by select few, be on your guard friend. I hope you have maintained your piloting skills over the years of your absence, these are dangerous grounds we tread on Raven. When be in touch once we reach the tournament. Until then, TADAA-DILDO~~ P.S. I know true reason you are among us Ravens once again. Raor Stones is responsible for the death of TM, I’m sure that provides enough motive for you to carry out your mission. Also do you know the name Lionheart, he seems to be working on Raor’s behalf as a bodyguard. He has also been involved in a number of Cold Blood operations in the past. A file is attached to the message containing photographs, videos and sound bites of illegal transactions and other mischievous activities. PD: Lionheart… PD has a flashback from many years gone by, PD and TM just finished a mission in which they retrieved documents from an underground lab. Now they were heading off to their escape chopper hovering just in the distance. Just as the two AC’s were activating their overboost a large laser smashed into the back of TM’s AC stunning him. An enemy AC was seen up ahead. Pilot Name: Raor Stones AC Name: Bong A leading member of the Cold Blood unit, he is quick to dominate any scenario. He is cold, ruthless and always has his eyes set on the highest profit. PD: An ambush! Raor Stones: Cold Blood will always come out on top! TM: PD, he’s going for the chopper, you must stop him. PD: But Owen… TM: Go now! PD over boosts to Raor’s location and they begin to trade shots. Raor Stones: You are quite a capable pilot, your style is familiar. It can’t be, Penguin Dues? PD: The one and only! Prepare to be toast. Raor Stones: Keep in mind this isn’t the Arena, this is a whole new level of danger. Here I rule!! PD: Save it Stones! I'm not to be trifled with. As the two continue their battle, Penguin Deus is alerted by the presence of a second enemy AC far off a ways in TM‘s vicinity. Pilot Name: Lionheart AC Name: Eddie the Head A ruthless pilot new to the Cold Blood unit, he is training under the supervision of Raor Stones. Just when TM had begun to regain control of his AC, the second enemy AC began to creep up behind him. PD: Owen! Behind you! TM turns his head but it was already too late, Lionheart jumps on the back of TM’s AC and draws his blade. Lionheart: PREPARE TO BE MAXED! PD: NOOOOOOO!!!!!! TM: UAAAAGHH…..AHHHHHHH..AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! PD could hear Owen’s cries rip through the harsh static of his receiver. PD’s face contorted in a display of extreme anguish as he was forced to listen, but there was nothing he could do to stop the horror. It seemed to last forever, echoing throughout his head. Raor Stones: Lionheart, we’re finished here. Grab the documents and lets go. Lionheart got up off of TM's devasted AC, and snatched the documents from his limp hand. The two enemy AC’s activated their overboost and disappeared from the combat zone. Penguin Deus helps hoist TM’s badly damaged AC onto the chopper, and the two pilots take off into the distant horizon. Not a word was spoken between the two of them, in fact this would be the last time the two would ever see or hear from each other ever again. One month after the incident Penguin Deus would retire from Raven life and about a year later he would hear of TM’s passing. A great void was left in the world of Ravens. Back in present day, Penguin Deus sits on the edge of his bed holding his head in his hands. The soft patter of tears hit the hard floor surface and began to form a small pool. He slowly removes his hands from his face and looks up, not with an expression of sadness, but of sheer anger and determination. PD: Raor… Lionheart, you will both pay dearly for what you have done! In the name of Owen, I will have my vengeance!
  13. Lukav heads into his Garage room and takes his shower. About an Hour later. Lukav walks out with one towel around his waist. Stones: So we finally meet. Lukav drops the towel.
  14. I can feel it now... The Metal, the Romance. Very underrated.
  15. I like the part when the boy was poised to tempt the maiden.

    Metagaming

Metagaming is the guessing game that goes on within the the game, sort of like a dream within a dream.
  17. Yeah you are right, PD's story is still so fresh in all of our minds, it's time to let it sink in and flourish while noob finishes the comic to cap things off, there's still much more to be enjoyed here.
  18. This could become a tradition of sorts, since you picked this up from Lukav's story it would make sense for someone to pick up after you PD. I actually have some very interesting ideas in mind, but I wouldn't feel right posting anything without your blessings. I have a lot of time to think when I'm at work so I already have a good chunk of story thought up already. I'm thinking the title of it would be Armored Core: Enter the Raven, and it takes place a few years after the conclusion of your story. The synopsis is Raor and Lukav are looking to host a worldwide Raven tournament hoping to seek out the best pilots in the known world, meanwhile Penguin Deus is determined to show the world that he is still the best and uncover the mystery behind Raor and Lukavs bloody games.
  19. Please do, your Owen was great. Are you ready to illustrate a full on bar scene?
  20. "The raven with the most secrets. Some say he is unbelievable." You are genius PD, excellent fanfic skills. Only fanfic I have ever read, you should be proud. I am greatly anticipating the finale and the above mentioned "bittersweet ending".
  21. I'm with Raor, I just slapped some missile arms with relation missiles onto a lightweight frame and OB'd around his place of business.
  22. The pencils I use for my work are a 0.5 mechanical pencil for the details, and a set of Staedtler pencils of the darkest shades (7B and 8B) which I use to darken desired areas, as well as a blending stick for that for mixing and smoothing my shading. I love the look of charcoals though, after scanning the image when I got around to tweaking the brightness/contrast I went ahead and darkened the tones a little for a greatly desired visual effect. The original was already dark as it was, but I just could not resist the pure black sections that came out when adjusting the lighting. I am planning on getting charcoal pencils sometime, I'd also like to try out ink. Also thank you for the positive comments, I'm getting pumped to finish another drawing that is currently in the works of a similar horror theme. And thanks for complimenting my signature!
  23. I've finally managed to finish my first drawing in a long while. Lately it's been more difficult to find time to dedicate to drawing, so I'm proud to have finished this latest work after several months of on and off drawing. This was done in one of my smaller sketchbooks with various pencils and a blending stick. It's another "monster" drawing meant to serve as a concept for one of my projects that I hope to accomplish someday. Please let me know what you think. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a291/Nomrah/humanine.jpg
