Some people remember a version on Kai that ran orbits and RM2, which worked quite well, but like I mentioned to PD last night I'm more of a small missile kinda guy. I love the poking ability and free hits at mid range and would rather have the starter missiles hanging around for a while after dropping rm3 than dropping the orbit/missile combo and being left with just the hand weapons. My playstyle is pretty much attack and fade so having the missiles to play peekaboo meshes well with the nature of the hand weapons. Oh yah and I chose 69H over wraith cuz it'll stick around for a while after the HP runs dry, and I feel more comfortable with it's consistency over the wraith's faster damage output. I chose not to hanger anything under the shotty because in my experience on a light frame like this in most cases you'll either have won or have been destroyed before it goes empty. PD- as for arms I played around with macaque and I could probably fit them on with a few weight tunes, but the drain goes up and this design has paper thin defense anyway. Also played around with FG when strapped for weight trying different missiles. Haha and the hangar sword can easily be dropped in the place of 69h, had elf2 on this one but the handgun is there for the sake of being more consistent against a wider variety of bots. Raor: I have the defenses set exactly at 1450 for both EN and shell with those tunes and parts, but I'll play around with the head tunes some more. May consider macaque just for better stats overall to help weather the damage it takes when rushing in with the shotgun and handgun, but my philosophy with lightweights like this was always to forgo defense for mobility and speed. Crimson Fury Posted August 11, 2011 Author Report Share Posted August 11, 2011 Hmm I've been thinking SYAKAs and Limpet on this, with UL2 like I used to have. Actually UL2 generally worked better on Kai back in the day IIRC cuz of better stats overall, lower heat and a lower drain OB that gave me some good OB manueverability, also if I tune GULL to all heat I noticed it makes a big difference on cooling and mobility. This AC is all about having the energy and cooling to stay highly mobile and bulldog and dodge opponents when needed from all sorts of angles. I had success with a mid on Kai back then using syakas/RM3 as a sort of "cage" to rope ACs in for handweapons to do their job, which kinda worked like the orbits I had on this design at one point. I tested that version a bit but before I knew it my access to Kai was gone and the scene had kinda dried up at the time so nothing was concrete. Of course I can't make a decision until the day I can actually playtest some different stuff again against humans, just bored musings.
