  1. He used the wrong term, get over it.
  2. I like this design! My only suggestion is to swap out one of your arm weapons for a mid-range one. It seems a little too slow to have half of its weapons be CQC.
  3. Why PSN only? What if an XBL user can get his/her own high-res picture from a capture card? (I am on PSN, so it doesn't affect me, but seems odd that it's PSN only.
  4. Yeah, I was paying a lot of attention to the term, since you didn't explain it too well any of the times I saw it. Overshooting just intuitively sounds like a weapons term, but after actually looking at a few definitions, it does have a meaning that applies to passing a destination. Even then, I think there is a better workaround to this. Often, when I'm in the 200 or less range, rather than dodging with a left/right QB, I use QB turns instead. That way I am not propelling myself as far away from my target, and I usually chain the QB turn with a front QB to continue to close in. If its really that much of a problem Id recommend... oh, wait, I just noticed you edited your boosters to schedars. Nevermind. (by the way, Virtue/Latona/Schedar rocks! I've been using the same combo happily for months now) EDIT: Rogan, I just got my 360 a few days ago. All I'm waiting on is an ISP and I should be good to go and get on XBL.
  5. I don't like the AC, but I do actually like fated's strategic insert here. Second stage QB gives more thrust, but it does indeed make it harder to change directions, thus making it easier for the opponent to time a shot successfully. I want to point out that this does not make second staging as a whole bad though, it is the exception that second staging left/right against a sniper that is bad. I think second staging left/right is generally inefficient unless you have some master game plan that revolves heavily on complex spacing. I have yet to find a downside to second staging forward though. Any other thoughts on this? As for the AC though, specializing in a certain range is fine if you can ensure that you are always faster than your opponent. Phact is so heavy that you can and will be caught by any LW using a decent main booster. Aaliyah back boosters would help as well.
  6. Excellent. Advice. I also vouch for WG core with Aaliyah legs. Personally I like the 203 scatters paired with dearbornes a bit better than musselshells.
  7. I have seen you post something similar to this a few times. Why are you leaving sides untuned to prevent overshooting? Another way to prevent overshooting is to not shoot while using side QB. Or you can lessen the degree of overshooting by making sure you shoot near the end of the QB. Think about a sniper for a minute. Is it wise for a sniper to move left and right while trying to hit a target? The same concept applies to any gun. If your want more accuracy, don't shoot while moving left and right. The other thing about this is that your weapons are CQC. If you find overshooting with CQC weapons to be a consistent problem, you are not close enough. Overshooting becomes more and more apparent with more and more distance. Overshooting with CQC weapons can only mean you are not in their effective range. Here's what I suggest: 1. Shoot between your side QBs, not during them. 2. Get closer Overshooting is going to happen but at least don't reduce your speed, which is this frame's only defense, for the sake of improving the accuracy of weapons that aren't meant to be accurate.
  8. This AC is way too slow for LW weapons. Doesn't mean you have to go full LW frame, but at least use LW core or legs. You need more speed to utilize these weapons. I'd also recommend Virtues for main boosters if you can handle your energy well or Lahires if you like to fly a lot.
  9. And the lesson of the day is: BACK UP ALWAYS.

  11. Try White Glint core if you can get comfortable not using shoulders. And I'd definitely change the rf-r100 to a mr-r102.
  12. Gentoo Linux for real geeks. This makes me very happy!
  13. I think Rigel legs do have a niche, but not for this idea. Maybe later I'll post my Rigel legs design.
  14. The sobrero arms were meant for low weight and low drain, what else? Their speed helps increase the effectiveness of his weapon set. Their low drain gives his AC the endurance he needs to sustain speedy combat. I want to share this quote from The Art of War. "Attack is focusing on winning. Defense is a method of attack." Because speed supplements his attack, the sobrero arms are a great choice for his weaponset. But personally I think if you choose any of the sobrero parts for that speed, you might as well do the same for all the other parts too.
  15. Duskaror cause it's so much faster
  16. Unsung's pure awesome paint job would have a constant flash rocket effect, and Stasis would be unable to lock on.
  17. Is it just me or does it seem like アメリカさん also doubles as a political cartoon? (アメリカさん means Mr. America in Japanese) But anyway for my votes Competitive #3 Paint #7 Favorite #7
  18. Ahh, right. Here is they are Weapon 1 051ANNR, PA penetration 3500 Weapon 2 049ANSC, PA penetration 6391 LW1 PA rectification 16403 LW2 PA rectification 14380 MW1 PA rectification 15809 MW2 PA rectification 14209 HW1 PA rectification 17387 I'm glad you asked because now I realize I neglected the HW category (as usual) and only used a high PA test subject, a full Argyros frame. So I made a lower PA HW and tested it HW2 PA rectification 11696, vs 051ANNR 13.6% vs 049ANSC 14.6% Also I rounded to the nearest percent, so I decided to recalculate with all values rounded to the nearest tenth of a percent. Here are the new averaged numbers LW vs 049ANSC +3.55% MW vs 049ANSC +2.65% HW vs 049ANSC +1.35% I gotta stop rounding so early... Are you saying you have found out how much rectification = what percentage of damage absorbed? I was just about to try to figure that out, lol.
  19. For the first one, no weapons I'd choose Aaliyah, but with them I'd always go for Lahire. Second one, I have no opinion since I fail to even look at heavies in FA. Third one, I like the Lancel better. I remember it having better overall PA and energy defense, as well as being a bit faster, all the stats I value most highly.

Please, oh please, remove that Rigel generator and replace it with a Judith or Lahire.
  21. I want to extend this a little. This study is very helpful but there is one thing that might be a little misleading. The TAP can be determined by dividing your AP by the percentage of damage that you take from a weapon. However one factor that was not included with the introduction of PA was the PA penetration stat of the weapon used to take the measurement. The PA penetration stat affects the amount of damage that gets through PA and an increase in it would increase the percentage of damage you take from a weapon as well. So I did some tests. The test was to take the 051ANNR, shoot the defending AC, calculate the percent of damage that went through, and then do the same with the 049ANSC, whose PA penetration is nearly 3000 higher. Here is what I found: Lightweights experienced around +4% damage Midweights experienced around +3% damage Heavyweights experienced around +2% damage How does this affect the TAP? A lightweight usually has low AP. This means that an increase in damage percentage will have a devastating impact on its TAP. Here is an example I have a midweight with 40000 AP. The percentage it takes from the 051ANNR is 20%. Its spaTAP is 40000 / 0.2 = 200000. When I increase the damage by 3% by using the sniper cannon, its spaTAP vs SCs changes to 40000 / 0.23 = 173913 I have a lightweight with 30000 AP. The percentage of damage it takes from the 051ANNR is 30%. this means its spaTAP against the BFF rifle is 30000 / .3 = 100000. However, when I increase damage by 4 % for the SC here is what happens; 30000 /0.34 = 88235. Of course if you do the subtraction you will see that the lightweight lost less TAP than the midweight, but that's beside the point. A lightweight takes a 12% reduction from an opponent using snipers instead of rifles, which is substantial considering they have low TAP to begin with. Even though PA penetration is a new part of this equation, it does not mean you have to adjust all your TAPs for each weapon you could encounter. One luxury we have is that the PA penetration of most weapons fall into one of two areas: the 3000 range or the 6000 range. Because of this we can generalize that you will be taking standard damage from weapons in the 3000 range and about an extra 3% for those in the 6000 range. Another great conclusion of this addition is that, so long as scaling is proportional, PA penetration gives an extra 1% for every 1000 penetration. With that knowledge, you can now proceed to ignore those weapons you were thinking about choosing for their slightly higher penetration. So in conclusion, lightweight users need to know that their TAP vs snipers and lasers is incredibly low. All other weight classes take a small hit too, but it nowhere near as noticeable as with lightweights. That and +200 in PA penetration actually means a lot less than I (and probably most of us) thought.
