  1. Your right that is dumb. Fixed. I took the rules from the first ACO Spring Break Tournament and edited them, that rule probably got missed.
  2. Alright ACO is having a Spring Break Tournament and we can always use more players. I'm giving you notice over a month in advance so people have time to sign up and make necessary plans. Semifinals and Finals are 3 out of 5 rounds. * Allowed Arenas: Collapsed City, Mega Float, Parabolic Grove and Motherwill. * Time Limit: 5 minutes, player with highest AP wins the match when time is up. * Time and Date: 12pm EST February 27 and 28. Feb 27 Xbox, Feb 28 PSN. * Where: via Xbox Live and PS3 Internet Network. * Prize: Winners get a pretty Ribbon on ACO if you don't have an ACO account then you get bragging rights. Restrictions: * No Blades. Period. This includes Hangers. * Loser of previous match chooses next round's arena. * There will be a chat that everyone will take part in, treat each other with respect or face disqualification. * Latest game regulations will be used for this tournament, that means 1.4. * banned designs: Raiden Arm Quads * IMPORTANT: Player must be available for the date and time of this tournament. If you are unable to attend and have already signed up please contact myself and confirm your drop out prior to the date of the tournament. How will the tournament be conducted? * Referee will create a private room * Referee will invite the designated players to the room. * When the match starts the referee will OB out of the map THEN the participants can begin. * Match is a best 2 out of 3 rounds. * Once a winner is determined, the two participants will then leave the room, and referee will bring in the next two, and repeat. I'm going to be Referee, If I can get someone of good reputation to assist with refereeing I will. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone. Poor sportsmanship, using a modded AC, ...etc. Just to throw a curve ball in: There will not be any bye's. Should we end up with an uneven number of players I will find a sub or fill in myself. This AC has been scrapped. The amount of damage the Vega can deal is nice but is not worth the work it takes to make the shot land. In a good match I'll get two shots to register most of the time its 1 or none. I'm now working on a different high laser AC.

Frame: Soluh/Latona/Latona/Soluh Internals: Judith/Linstant Booster Line: Aaliyah/Latona/Ortega/Sobrero Weapons: Vega/Motorcobra/061ancm/Sapla/061anrm Stabilized: (0,-8) <- After Vega Tunes: 50 in En output, cap, KP output, Aim, Vertical thrust, main QB, Turning 40 in Side QB 24 in Maneuverability 20 in missile lock 6 in lock speed 2 in horizontal thrust Analysis: This is something I thought up yesterday. Something new. The idea is to rush with the Vega and obtain a quick lead in AP. Then use the motorcobra and spreads to force your target to the ground and finish them with your grenades. Assault armor is there just because. The MG and missiles can strip PA pretty well on their own but if your target has flares it can be annoying so it helps there, but thats about it. Frame: I wanted to use Soluh core but its a touch on the drainy side for this AC. Before the Vega is used up its only got 21000ish for en recovery, (22300 after) you need all the en you can get at the start of the match so that the Vega can get its job done quickly. Latona arms saved me tunes in En weapon skill and had better aim than lahire. Internals: After the Vega is used the ACs main combo is a MG and missiles, so I wanted better missile lock. Judith fell in naturally. Linstant generator is used on most of my close quarters builds because of the excellent PA it provides. Lights really don't have squat for defense otherwise. Booster Line: I'm testing out Ortega over my usual Schedar. Sobrero over rigel for more AA power. (Kinda heming and hawing on this one) This booster line on the Linstant generator is not for beginners, but it doesn't bother me. (I'm really starting to like it) Lahire mains were something else I thought about since I want to rush off the bat and virtue's poor vertical makes the air combat strategy much more difficult. Weapons: Vega is the centerpiece of the AC. IF it lands a solid hit it hurts. Especially vs other lights. The motorcobra and 061s are just reliable. I've used them a fair bit. Sapla is a finisher. Save it till the end and use it to hammer something without PA. It can be used with the Vega at the start but that leaves you less adaptable later on. Don't be afraid to use AA since the 061s can really hammer something without PA. Tunes: These are really weird. I just played with these to get the AC to handle the way it felt best. Thoughts? Has anyone gotten the Vega to work at high level play?

    M-11

    yes, it was just renamed.

    M-11

Wow, I didn't know anyone still played AC4. Isn't K.K. supposed to use a full Technocrate frame with a parrying blade and rockets. To be on topic: Why schedar sides, kraken (I think I spelled that wrong) should help with dodging.

    Widow

Nah it needs an EO core, the hell with OB
  8. Virtue would be wonderful IF he didn't have the blade hangered. Since he does Aaliyah makes the drain easier to handle and allows you to fly which will help with the missiles and the SC.
  9. Since your using Linstant generator I would drop the laser weapons. 063anar is a good replacement. Since you have linstant generator you could equip rigel OB and use AA. I agree with using the Aaliyah main booster. Another option is lahire so that you get a further blade lunge when you pull it out. If you can manage the rest of your booster line go for it. On this AC Ekhazar > soluh When using latona backs you don't need to put tunes in that QB, since it isn't going to do much of anything.

    Orion

I've played multiple missile spammers with a MG. Thats not an instant kill, decent missile spammers will be jousting them making it much harder to keep a bead on them and if they are using vertical missiles your machine gun will do nothing to stop them. You can thread missiles through a MG, its not that hard. A heavy without flares can use cover to stop missiles, which it should be doing even with flares, however cover isn't always available. The AI in this game is awful. Its easy to blow up those missiles with dual aciaca. Anyone online with some skill will be moving when they fire their missiles, either over you or to the side. If they are moving to the side it makes it considerably harder to blow their missiles up in their face and even if you succeed they take less damage. I've acknowledged that add sides might have useful. I decided to stick with flares on Orion and try add sides on my PA heavy.

    Orion

I have a PA heavy that I use on PSN but it never occurred to me to use Add-sides on it. I might have to try them. In Orion's case though I'll stick with flares.
  12. Rogan

    Orion

Yasmin are intentionally there. A heavy without flares is a sad heavy. So I went with the Yasmin > Guyandotte04 because it has a greater number of launches. I want to make my flares last as long as possible.

    Orion

    Updated, thanks for input

    Orion

A heavy without flares = dead Suggested changes: Arms -> Hilbert SR -> 051 (maybe the 61?) Side boosters -> something stronger... Holofernes? My first pick would be Aaliyah or Argyros but I dunno if those will fit

AC: Orion Frame: 047/Argyros/Hilbert/Argyros Internals: Ekhazar/Aaliyah Boosters: Judith/Aaliyah/Holofernes/rigel Weapons: Motorcobra/051ansr/Wheeling03/Travers/Yasmin Stabilized (0,0) Tunes: 50 in En output, En cap, maneuverability, lock speed, vertical thrust, Back QB, side QB, turning 42 in missile lock Analysis: Ok, so Shillyshally doesn't actually work. It seemed like a good idea when I built it. Time for a replacement. Back in AC1 when I first started playing the first AC I ever built and used to beat the game was a super heavyweight. I play tanks once in a while to take a break from CQC and decided I wanted a superheavy as an option. Frame: 047: The most overused head part in the game, its dull and boring but gets me the lock range I need to use the SR and wheeling effectively. Argyros: Solid all around defenses. The core's only real flaw is the low stability. Hilbert: These have better weapons handling that the GA arms although they have less shell defense and AP, the decrease in weight allowed me to equip a heavier SR Argyros: These are the only legs that can carry the AC. I think that works as a super heavyweight theme but these obviously lack mobility and stability. If I used the Raiden tank legs the frame would look exactly like a competitive tank. Booster line: To put it simply heavies cannot reach the same speeds as lightweights so I didn't bother trying. The boosters where chosen for en efficiency so that I could fly forever and therefore not be nade bait. Judith: Vertical thrust. I took these over something like Aaliyah because this AC really isn't meant to try and go forward. If it has to engage something a long range it uses the SR, wheelings and cover. Aaliyah: Good bailout boosters. Just so that I don't get overrun. Although if my opponent is using virtue mains it won't matter, given the weight of the AC. Holofernes: I don't really like this booster but its long duration gave me the best ability to turn Rigel: If someone does close AA should allow some breathing room when they also have to dodge swarms of wheelings, nades and a MG. Weapons: Motorcobra: A PA breaker to make lightweights back off or eat a grenade. If I run into another heavy or tank it can be used offensively, I guess. 051ansr (toying with the idea of the 061): A solid poking weapon for long range. The wheelings make people dodge so that they're easy picking here. Works alright at mid range. Wheeling03: Long-mid range spam to work with the SR. Or it can be used to make anything lacking flares break contact. Travers: The hardest hitting weapon on the AC. Combines with the MG or wheelings well vs grounded targets. If I have to fire it in the air this is the nade launcher most likely to register a hit. Yasmin: Spreads and scatters are probably this AC's worst enemy. Flares make them go away. Heavyweights aren't really something I know much about in FA I used them more in the earlier games and kinda lost them to light-mids once AC3 came out.
  16. Frame: Ekhazar/Tellus/Soldner/Soluh Internals: Judith/Sobrero Booster line: Virtue/Lahire/Ortega/Linstant Weapons: 063anar/063anar/musselshell/musselshell/flicker Stabilized: (0,-13) Tunes: 50 in En output, En Cap, maneuverability, missile lock speed, vertical thrust, main QB, Side QB, turning 21 in Lock speed, horizontal thrust Analysis: Behold an anti-LWDRer-LW... OK so I wanted to make something bizarre for a change of pace. Start off by jousting your missiles then charge them with your fearsome dual rifles and awesome flicker rockets. Obtain a solid AP lead, then proceed to thoroughly piss your opponent off buy switching to defensive play. You have over 40k AP, 9k shell defense, over 8k en defense and can move fairly quickly. Average top speed is around 2k with a second stage. Frame: Head: Ekhazar I wanted some AP and decent stability, at first I tried a heavyweight head but it was just too heavy to make fit. Core: Tellus The heavy-mid core provides good defenses in both en and shell defense with high AP while being easy on en Arms: Soldner I wanted to use hilbert but they're too heavy, these were the next best pick. The have good AP and shell defense. Legs: Soluh These are the only light legs that can hold the AC without load tunes. Judith has better defenses but can't take the weight. Internals: FCS: Judith I have missiles and dual rifles Gen: Sobrero It was the only one that would fit because of how heavy the frame and weapons are. I can run strong boosters without a problem but the lack of PA really hurts. Boosters Line: To allow for quick movement all around and its fairly light. Its a fairly standard set-up nothing overly special. Weapons: 063anars: Good overall rifles and more accurate than the 102s. Musselshells: Easy to joust, but also easy to dodge, particularly since relation missiles wouldn't fit. Flicker: To blind people and thus add to the annoyance factor.
  17. Yea, drop the yellowstone FCS. If you want to use that blade Aaliyah mains at the minimum. Lahire or Virtue would be better because of their stronger quick-boost. Should you decide to stick with Air performance use Judith mains and Lahire or Aaliyah backs so that you can stay away from rushers, then drop the blade. Your not going to hit anyone in FA with judith mains and a blade. Hanger blades just add unnecessary drain with either booster. Don't use soluh head if your not going to CQC, even then there are others to consider first. Ekhazar or judith or 047 for a mid. Noob said everything else.

    PRESSURE

*GASP!* A Fragile clone Although the Quad Gatling cannons aren't terrible when used defensively. They're probably the best of the gatlings.
  19. Rogan

    PRESSURE

Change one of the Gats to a SC. You can use the Gatling gun to hide the SC round. Try a stronger OB so that you can joust your missiles, allegheny + musselshell can be insane if it hits well. I'd also use aaliyah or judith mains.
  20. You could swap the head to ekhazar for even more AP on a lightweight. I'd also add assault armor since all your weapons would benefit from it.
  21. I would drop the laser blade and use lahire sides. (Or holo I guess) I like it though.
  22. Hey TM. I'd like an ACSIS shot please. I'll leave the angle up to your Artistic interpretation. Thanks in advance. Here's The AC: Dragon XIII Frame: Judith/Lahire/Lahire/Lahire Internals: Inblue/Lahire Boosters: Aaliyah/Latona/Schedar/Rigel Weapons: Sampaguita/Motorcobra/ACB-0710/ACB-0710/Laliguras Stabilizers: Core L&R lower: 03-aaliyah/cls1 Legs back: Gan01-ss-lbso legs L middle: Gan01-ss-lmso Legs L lower: Gan01-ss-llso Colors: All: Main: 0,0,0 Sub: 0,0,0 Support: 50,0,0 Optional: 0,0,0 Joint: 15,0,0 Device: 193,123,98 Eye: 255,0,255
  23. Its named for what it is. Strictly a BR AC. Frame: Judith/Ekhazar/Aaliyah/Aaliyah Internals: Judith/Lahire Booster line: Aaliyah/Latona/Schedar/Judith Weapons: Mr-102/Motorcobra/0203/Travers/Beltcreek Stabilized: (0,-14) Tunes: 50 in En output, En Cap, Maneuverability, Horizontal Thrust, Vertical Thrust, Main QB, Side QB, Turning 31 in Missile lock 11 in Lock speed Analysis: Frame: Its a light mid with 40k AP and acceptable defenses. Ekhazar and aaliyah legs for AP Aaliyah arms for Weapons handling and Judith head just because. It has 8k shell defense and just under 7k en defense with decent speed. Internals: Judith is a simple to use and serviceable FCS. Since I'm using MG+AR and missiles I don't need high lock speed, 300 is sufficient. Lahire gen gives me 23k en after missiles are used/dropped and some PA which the frame has a decent amount of. Booster Line: Its fast and easy to manage En with. Not much to say here. Weapons: MG+AR lets me CQC anything slower and go toe to toe with light DRs. The 203s were chosen to kill people who fly too much. Force them to the ground and hammer them with a nade. I placed the missiles with the MG to keep pressure on and help break their PA for the nade shot when they land. Beltcreek extensions so the the missiles can be spammed quickly if they aren't needed. Tunes: Stressed mobility, come to think of it thats what I tend to do on all my ACs. Overall I think it looks cool but it doesn't really have any strengths. I've been thinking about using the Kamal over the travers but nades are too much fun vs anything grounded.

    Back on Xbox

Oh good! Looking forward to seeing you on Xbox. Hopefully I've got the AC right now. It certainly took long enough. Updates are posted.
