^lol Yeah, I'll admit, if you don't know where to look it can seem dead or a dying artform. Most mainstream rap music is trending slightly towards techno pop, Drake and some of that. Underground scene is where its at, also Texas Rap is pretty hardcore ass gangsta shit. I've got some friends in ATX, they like to freestyle, a friend of a friend was also in the Texas Battle League. Anyways, here's a few more.

  3. Yeah, scanmode seems annoying, especially only getting info of how much ammo you've got left and target info when in it.

    Dark Souls

It's the animation, it's a two-part one, looks cool. That's all really. Plus, I'm needing some variation in my combat, I like rapiers just fine, I saw the claws used in my own game play by another player, and in this video and I'm thinking, "All right, cool as shit!" Who doesn't like owning someone to the face after they've been knocked to their knees?

Claws are the shit now, I'm making a dex build just for that riposte. Also, I love his music selections, Shing01 & Nujabes and whomever else is the shit. Really flows nicely with the videos.

    Metagaming

When I used to do text-based wargame roleplaying, we called metagaming using information OOC (out-of-character) to affect IC (in character) events. So for me, and ultimately, I believe that when you take information from a different context and apply it to the contextual event/s, that is metagame/ing. I.e. If you know Johnny doesn't like being a lamer and doesn't enjoy getting lamed, so he plays 'fairly' in his opinion, you bring a lamer, then you win. Of course, this doesn't take into account experience in predicting your oppoent's hands/moves. Edit Here's an even better example; Let's say Timmy and Max are playing a game of poker. Max has a good poker face, but is kind of a shitty player. Let's also say Timmy is a better player, but can't read people (I didn't say he didn't have a good poker face though[either way, doesn't matter much]). During the course of the game, let's say Timmy bets aggressively and has the best hand on the table, Max, thinking Timmy will whip his ass, folds out. Timmy wins the pot and gets a little giddy. Now lets say that this continues sort of the same way for a few hands and Max figures out that Timmy likes to bet when he thinks he can easily win, and force people out of the pot. So Max, with his elegant poker face, actually gets the better hand, but now that he knows when Timmy bets (generally) plays better on him, checks passively and throws Timmy off. Now when Timmy steps up to claim the pot, Max calls and wins because this time around, he actually had the better hand. Again, neither player knew what they had until the cards were down at the end of the game. That's metagame, Max took info from outside the rules of the game, poker, to win against his opponent. BUT, like Exogen said, Strategy (the "I'm going for a flush instead of a straight, because a flush beats a straight") is different from, yet also inseparable from the metagame. However, you have to come to know your opponent to get a good metagame assumption going (I say assumption because you can never really know what kinds of things are there before they actually are witnessed, as far as cards go. And counting cards in poker is GHEY[yet still a statistically viable tool; yet not a strategy in and of itself]).

    Dark Souls

Nope but thanks for the info, I was looking for it in my inventory and waltz'd back to the fire and poop face'd. I got them both dead, I'll just run in and grab it now. Also, those videos are hilarious! The Black Knight one makes me laugh when he Forced them off the beam. Also the little exclamation point ala Metal Gear and the back stab when the dude is standing by him, "Stand by... Stand by... Go!"

Dude I got Jeremiah to die, but i didn't get any of the fuckin' armor.
  10. Idk about this crap with multi expansions. DLC is cool, make it good, balanced and just dont make us pay a shitload for it.
  11. Heh, if the squads are three platoons should be like 9 mechs total. I'd be interested in competing in the regional war system, if ACU has a team or w/e I'll be down to play for ya'll. Also, yeah clowns trying close combat and failing at it should be dead, to say the least. If its like it seems from vids and accounts so far, shotties might be not as good, hopefully blades like the over weapons aren't the preferred method of CQC. It'll be like cinematics instead of fights with beaches getting chopped in half!
  12. Yeah, single handedly fucking teams up is what those types are good for. If you engineer your AC right, you best be zippin around in a HW. I had one I traded to Artou a while back cuz it was fucking beast. He made it a little better IMO. But yeah, Zooks will work defensively. Dude, we should play again haha.

    Dark Souls

It's got a different moveset than the regular rapiers, the strong attacks for both single and two handed include a butter-fly style iaido slash. Down then up, followed by a strong stab. Two handed version is slightly wider in the animation.

Anyone like Velka's Rapier for PvP; is it useful at all?
  15. Sup Densuo! Yeah in team formats, support units are vital. Having some missile and sniper combos will fuck shit up. Tanks and HW's are excellent for this. However, support is only as useful as it is protected. I like to think of them as the heavy gun emplacements, sort of like a Maginot Line, if it is outflanked, it's ultimately useless. If well defended by having a light distract or draw fire, then the supports get the job done. Can't recall the number of times playing 3v3 with Redwolf and Whitewolf that White's snipers got the enemy units shot down because we kept them off him. Tell you the truth, I don't think the mechanics of what makes a good build or team strategy 'good' has changed much over the years. I agree with DWW on the point of being reflexive, timing is a huge part of what makes you effective in battle. Knowing what to do is one part, but knowing when is the other. Then haha, you need to have flawless, or as close to it as possible, execution.
  16. Crimson, Red and I will probably be an AC platoon, like always. Ready to fuck shit up.
  17. My style is just to kill the enemy. Most the times I've played, I'll admit, I got lucky, like killing 4 people in a row when i was last on the team. I'll dodge, I'll rush. Just adapt, if you know how to counter well, it's easy to win. 'Course, practice makes the master. Oh yeah, forgot. If you use set-ups you know are gimped, that will make you improve dramatically. Going for the cheese to win is the fallacious thinking of rats in mazes. Be the experimenter, not the rat.
  18. Make the frame lighter, weight under 10000 and you can use those boosters if you second stage like a motherfucker. I would definitely change the machinegun either way and the back mount chaingun. Cantuta is good, it has like no reload and recoil. Very precise, motorcobra tears ass up close, but it may not be light enough if you still want to use the boosters you've got. Lose the aspina guns. They just don't cut it. XCG might be the only good part they made aside from the core. But the rosenthal chaingun is better than that gun and the kamal will be better up close any way.
  19. Dude, I'm dicking around on ps3 side FA right now. I know a few people that still play, but its a little touchy to get a good match going right now. Only two people to have ever beaten me consistently still refuse to acknowledge that he lags like a little bitch. I'm looking at you R2/Brave-One.
  20. DUDE, I know the Nanman troops are fucking beastly. I agree about shit start for CC lieges in 8. I haven't been able to play in a while, (no backwards compatibility anymore ) but putting 8 CC's as lieges and then having them all surrender to one dude is fucking hilarious. X is alright, the battles I agree are kind of boring, but no more than 8's were. But I gotta say, X's map is better, building forts is fucking cool. I dont remember if you could do that in 8 or not, and attacking cities behind enemy lines is great. Only being able to march on roads was fucking lame. I'm glad 11 took care of that, you can march an army all over the fucking map in 11, it's sweet. Snuck around Liu Zhang as Liu Bei during the Yizhou campaign, ambushed Yan Yan @ Jiangzhou (Fu in 8, i think, in between Cheng Du and Yong An) and then blitzed through Mianzhu Guan when he sent reinforcements from Cheng Du to save Yan Yan. Surrounded Zhang Ren and captured his ass, then i forced him to jump off a mountain (just kidding lol, i killed him in battle or executed him or some shit, he was dead before Liu Zhang had fallen thats for damn sure). Barbarians in the RTS variants (9 and 11) are fucking insane, you get some sweet items, but don't take them on unless you got no enemies around you and a lot of men to spare.
  21. Granted, but... I wish this thread would die. NO NECROING. There happy? So much lulz! LOLOLOLOL
  22. Granted, but 3 leggers have horrible stability, and metagame calls for stun weapons. 5 leggers drain worse than quads and everyone plays a super-boosting LW.
  23. Unsung wins. Nevermind the fact the pilots are the same guy; Unsung packs practically the same arsenal as Stasis, but slightly larger and more powerful, as well as having better defense. Unsung wouldn't need to chase Stasis around, he can hold back, pop Stasis as he attacks and play defensively all the way to the finish. Stasis on the other hand would need to rely almost exclusively on speed to get the job done.
  24. Figure out the trajectory, move to the blind spot and keep attacking. Eventually they're gonna get tired of getting pounded while spamming missiles and switch to something else, or die. Of course, that's the ideal way to do it, doesn't always turn out perfect, haha.
