Most bigger weapons aren't meant for combos since they have High attack power and defense in this game has gone down. I used a Occult Greataxe+5 nad had a 700+ total damage so If I got a running 2H attack (which is actually quite fast) most people would be left with a sliver of health or dead. Smough's hammer is an exception but that thing is crazy. 156 116 I did a little testing to see about the estoc Critical hit damage and Noobs right, it has a higher critical than 100 because of what I've personally tried. I used a Longsword to back stab the Zombies down in New Lando and it did 116 damage to their health. Then I tried it with the estoc I just got and it did 156 damage when I back stabbed one of them. Strength: 14 Dexterity: 13 Longsword Attack damage : 90 (80 base) Estoc Attack damage: 83 (75 base) I'll do some more testing once I get another weapon with high critical damage and see what the closest number will be to compare it to.

A pure strength build comes to mind because of the 50 Strength. If you wanted to use a spear the Demon Spear has 'C' strength Para bonus and at +5 has a base attack of 150 with an 180 Lightning damage to boot.

Logan's Catalyst was the one I used, I used it on the hollowed out guys in the Firelink area. I used the Crystal Halberd with CMW and the Crystal catalyst. I did a total of 720 with 2H R1. I then combined power within and it did a total of 896 2H R1. The critcal hit sky rocketed the damage without the Hornet's ring to 1008! I might wanna try it with that just to see how much I could do.

Listed attack power, if I wanted a damage calculation I'd go to the forest and attack the Human NPCs to get the most accurate. EDIT: I tried it with and without the bellowing Dragoncrest ring and it did the same damage so if you plan to use CMW don't waste a ring slot. I suggest using Lingering Dragoncrest and Hornet's to bring out the full potential CMW. I haven't tried it with Power within yet but will soon.

Just did some crystal magic weapon with an Intelligence of 50, strength of 16, and dexterity of 13. Crystal straight sword w/o crystal magic weapon: 169 Crystal straight sword w/ crystal magic weapon: 498 (580 with Crystal catalyst) > 329 total increase (411 total increase) Broadsword w/o crystal magic weapon: 94 Broadsword w/ crystal magic weapon: 423 (505 Crystal catalyst)> 329 total increase (411 total increase) Bastardsword w/o crystal magic weapon: 121 Bastardsword w/ crystal magic weapon: 450 (532 with the Crystal catalyst) > 329 total increase (411 total increase) So it's based out of the base damage, intelligence, and MagAdjust. So because Crystal weapons do the highest base damage, combining it with CMW maxes out the potential of the weapon. I haven't tried it out with lower or higher Int yet but at 50 Int that's probably the max damage you'll get without diminishing gains.

I used Crystal magic weapon on a crystal sword and it went from 154 to 458 so I'd say that's a crazy improvement, my intelligence is at 50 for this build. I actually just got the guide and it's pretty fucking sick, I just wanna frame the cover.....

Yeah if that doesn't stack I could use power within to get the same effect except with more Health.

So with the ring and catalyst its around a 45 percent increase. What is the Dusk crown increase? I was wondering because I used an insanity firespray mage a lot back in demon souls and with all those items you can come close to an insanity mage. I'm thnking you'd have to run all that equipmant plus the red tearstone ring just to get close to one.

I have the Great sword and I'm not a fan of it as it has the same base damage as the regular black knight sword it just has a strength bounus of 'B' instead of 'C'. The Axe is the best weapon because it has the highest base damge with a 'B' param bonus. I also fought someone with it and they were easily killed because his attacks were so slow.

If I was on ps3 I'd have a few spares /: sorry bro. I didn't realize you could just cut the tail right of the Stone dragon and he won't give a shit, I always thought he was gonna try and kill me afterwards. Whats the would be the better dragon weapon? I know for Magic it's the moonlight blade and I'm guessing Priscilla's Dagger is best for Dex but what about Strength? The Dragon Greatsword and Greataxe do the same damage and have the special 2H R2 attack but the Dragon tooth actually has a para bonus (only 'D' though). The Greataxe has a area attack but its range is pretty limited and the Greatsword has a straight line blast like the Drake sword except bigger, stronger, and goes father. I might give the advantage to the axe just because of fog ring users.

There's a miracle in ash lake called great magic barrier inside a tree by the hydra that helps with the channelers but not with the people that get affected by his dance, those archers can fuck you up. You could also try the magic shield glitch to burst through.

    Dark Souls

Yeah I just tried it with the Dragonslayer spear+5 and it did 840. So I'm gonna upgrade the shield and see how it works.

    Dark Souls

I haven't really used the M.Butterfly shield yet and I haven't upgraded it past the 1 and it only does around 350 to most enemies while WDB did over 1000 with th dusk crown and crystal catalyst. It could do more at 5 but like I said I haven't used it much.

holy shit I can't believe I didn't think about the stone sword gravity field and WDB. That's the way to accommodate for the slow cast speed. Magic damage pretty much goes straight through most shields and they can't roll so they can't moveout of the way. The only way to counter TWoP is by using iron flesh or your own TWoP but iron flesh blocks only phsical damage and it doesn't matter if you can't move fast as you wanna keep distance from the other guy since it has a far cast range. Oh the channelers trident acts just like a spear except for the dance.

I forget what strength is rquired to 2H the giant stone blade but for your mage file put the extra in strength (if required) to use it so you can use its 2H R2 to activate the slow field effect like TWoP, plus the sword has a decent magic damage stat. Another weapon to consider is the channeler's pitchfork thing. Only for summoning/trolling with friends would it trully be useful because of the funny dance.

I wouldn't switch the pyro for for the catalyst if you want to do the 2H R2 then Gravelord dance combo bcause you'd have to switch then cast and they'll be up and moved by the time its done.

I know 40 poise keeps you from flinching from arrows but I haven't tested poise otherwise.

The uchi is just a little bit longer the the Iaito and the both have some good range. I haven't really timed the swing animations for them yet but the Iaito seems a little faster than the uchi and it's a better Katana for Fog users as it has a horizontal R2 slash. That's the one thing I liked about the Chaos blade as it had both both R2 motions of the Uchi and Iaito, but it was also smaller than both. The washing pole is a beast if you change it to a Chaos weapon as it does a crazy amount of damage and it almost has the range of the Dragonslayer. I feel all Katana's have pretty good phantom range when I used them as well and each has that super attack while running. Why make and Estoc for backstabbing as its critical is only 100? The bandit's dagger, parry dager, dagger, rapier, and the mail breaker have higher critical damage. Unless there's something with the Estoc that makes it a better back stabber for range purposes but then why not use a spear? EDIT: I timed all the Katanas and they all can do 8 swings with END 40(with RoFaP). The uchi and the Iaito have the smae speed swings as each other whether its 2H'd or not. The only difference is the Iaito has a horizontal swing R2 and the 2H'd R2 goes father than the Uchi. The chaos blade also had the same speeds when using R1 but not R2, it was just a little slower. The washing Pole had almost the same speeds it was half a millisecond slower, but it takes up the same amount of stamina per swing as the others.

You're right WDB isn't practical for pvp eveb if you did make a character with 50 Int. Its really strong and has a good number of spell conts at 20 which is cut to 10 with the crystal catalyst but the slow animation and high int cost make it a little tricky to use. If you were to use it maybe take off 5 in vit and end I did that with an insanity mage in DnS. But for a practical mage I'd use Crystal soul mass, Chamleon, crstal magic weapon and maybe great soul arrow for harrasment. Oh CSM is the onl thing I know f that can be cast while using chamleon.

Crystal Soul Mass, Crystal Soul Spear, and White Dragon breath are all pretty good and each have there perks to them. Total damage CSM does the most, CSS can pierce through multiple enemies while still doing high damage and WDB shoots in a straight line so it can kill multiple and can go up or down walls, It also has the most casts for crystal sorcery. I finally got my Dragonslayer build done and I'm pretty disappointed with it. Here's what I've got; V: 40 A: 16 E: 40 S: 24 D: 30 R: 10 I: 12 F: 30 Rings: Leo ring, Ring of Favor and Protection, Cloranthy ring, Hornet's ring, and Dark wood grain. Pyromancy: Iron Flesh/G.Combustion Miracles: Tranquil walk of Peace, Gravelord Sword Dance/Gravelord Great Sword Dance(Heal if invading) Dragonslayer's +5 total damage is 367 with 232 physical and 135 Lightning damage. I tried to see if a mixed faith/dex build could pump out a high damage spear but only gets a 367 total damage. The saving grace about this build allows the use of Tranquil walk of Peace and the fact that 2H R2 sends players flying allowing me to cast a Gravelord sword dance as the get up. If using Dragonslayer for damage only I suggest making a pure Dex build and like Noob suggested take 8 points of strength to add elsewhere and just 2H it. EDIT: In my my Faith file my Occult Great axe +5 did around 700 with 50 faith and my Divine Gargoyle axe +10 did around 550, only problem is the skeletons won't die for good with Occult weapons unlike divine.

Yeah at that level most people turtle any so I'll do that and add either 4 to either vit and end or just 8 to vit. Either way gonna 2H it and rock the Grass shield with the Cloranthy ring and make them send me some hate mail over xbl.

I'm actually making a Dragonslayer build and at level 65 these are the stats I'm would use it for pvp: Vitality: 20 Attunment: 12 Endurance: 20 Strength: 24 Dexterity: 24 Resistance: 10* Intelligence: 12* Faith: 24 *Starting levels (Thief) I'm still debating over what stats should be used to maximize this build at 120
