Ninja Gaiden 3

For those who forgot, Ninja Gaiden Sigma II was the first Ninja Gaiden game without the creator of the originals. And as you should remember, it resulted in less costumes, better textures, longer load times, violence and gore were totally removed, a half hour install time, and it was just terrible. And that was a revamping of a good version. Now we see Team Ninja's true ability to make a trainwreck from the ground up.

Ninja Gaiden 3 has:

A camera that jerks towards where you're supposed to go so you don't get lost.

A lady talking to you constantly to make sure you're paying attention to the camera jerks so you really don't get lost.

More on screen tutorials.

Quick time events. Ones that slow down time so you see the button. (Hi, Ninja Blade.)

Stealth, even though the game is combat based around a super ninja that doesn't believe in stealth.

A simplified ultimate technique. No longer do you have to manly combo until enough points are around you to start charging, immediately max, and destroy everything. Now it just slowly comes to you through combat, sucking or not, and just teleports you to enemies through things.

Coming up in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 3:

No gore at all.

Friendship system.

Total stealth focus on gameplay.

A shit sandwich.

Core/Casual Gamers/Crybabies > Hardcore Gamers that Appreciate a good Challenge

Ugh gaming is regressing as we all know it.

When games in the 90's presented a good challenge and no hand holding... That was when gaming was in it's prime, never mind the visuals.

As soon as visuals became prioritized in games, quality in games just started to go backwards from there.

Sure games now are pretty, but they offer barely any content or challenge with all the tool tips spoon feeding you everything you need to get through a level without needing to use your brain in the slightest. :o

There's a reason for that!!!

There are far more Core/Casual Gamers/Crybabies than there are Hardcore gamers that appreciate a challenge/Crybabies. The money is on the casual gamer now and it's obvious. Games are everywhere (phones, internet, facebook). And while Nintendo has always been about the fun side of gaming, they have upped the ante for sure since the Wii which was designed specifically for the casual gamer/families.

So you can't make games too hard or complicated now or they really aren't going to sell well. Easier games tend to have greater replayability among a larger group of people so they have a longer financial life. Shit even people who only ever touch facebook games are considered "gamers" now. It definitely has changed our little world around. While I do not necessarily welcome all of the new change, it is nice for once to be able to talk to a few more people about my favorite hobby.

In the end we are all crybabies and we all love games. The challenge nowadays is in multiplayer.

This video covers what the developers were wasting time with, and shows some extremely casualized mechanics as well.

As for the rest: You only have one ninpo in this game, and ultimate attack is done not based on timing, but on a bar filling up over time from nonsense. And as covered before, Navi pointing you in every direction you need to go ever.
