Crysis 3

Crysis 3 was announced and will be sick nasty especially if it follows the simplicity of Crysis 2

the picture for it right now looks like a manly Hunger Games

now we get to be a vengeful Prophet and hunt muthafuckas down.

hopefully its a modified version of CryEngine3 (it still looks fucking beautiful) cuz FarCry running on Dunia looks pretty beast and Frostbite 2 is going pretty hard (warfighter looks kinda pretty)

and since CryTek UK is finally up and running and developing Homefront 2, we might be able to see a Timesplitters 4 on Cry.... that would be sick nasty.

Aw what, NYC again? Didn't we just do that shit.

And 'simplicity' apparently means linear as fuck apparently. Crysis 1 was far more entertaining in the way you could approach a situation however you wanted. You could sneak around entirely, sneak into small camps and load up on whatever dosh they got going on and go rambo, and in the midst of combat, naturally flow to using Maximum Strength to jump out of the way of incoming rockets and switch to Maximum Armor while flying while shooting a rocket back at them. Or throw dumpsters at people.

Even the versus got reduced to tiny areas. And Maximum Speed was removed completely. Even in tiny areas, that had so many applications to fling yourself behind someone and immediately Maximum Strength their face in. And it's balanced because you could only do it if you were good enough.

i totally agree, linear as fuck and removal of max speed was ghey

but i meant simplicity as in controls and graphics

like one button pressing your skills, holding spacebar for jump, e for stealth and what not

the graphics were gorgeous compared to crysis although crysis was more detailed (foliage, water splatter, terrain distance)

crysis 2 the graphics were simplified in terms of less data rendering, preset smoke and explosions but all in all with the DX11 pack the graphics destroyed crysis 1

also missed the feature of shooting down trees for fun, made the sandbox feeling that much more complete

crysis 3 is going to be a rainforest like setting in NYC. trees swamps and what not, thick vegetation growing in NY

if this one isnt sandbox then i can only imagine crysis 4 being sandbox, but then again we got FarCry3 coming (although we dont get fucking awesome nanosuits)

but i have high hopes because the tagline is "the hunted becomes the hunter" so if i dont get to go around and just fuck people up for fun then worst. tagline. ever.

so maybe Prophet(Alcatraz?) is finally going Nomad, maybe even a little Psycho perhaps lol

Hojengaard said: "You can certainly say that it builds on the foundation of the series - we have a lot of the wide gameplay from the original Crysis and a lot of the verticality of Crysis 2 and that we combine in a really stellar and beautifully unique setting - the New York City Liberty Dome... I can assure you that Crysis 3 will benefit from an exciting sandbox environment that reverts to the origin of the Crysis franchise."

"Don't forget that our setting is not just a city left to its own demise - it's a city that has been artificially grown into a rainforest by help of the Nanodomes."

awesome, but theyre still making us play as Prophet lol.

so if i get to use maximum strength with the bow and hide in a tree and snipe people with it and see their bodies fly a couple meters back and pin them to a tree and watch everyone looking around in mass confusion. greatest game ever.

EA's customer support is the worst of all the big companies. I think we can all agree on that.

Anyway, enjoyed Crysis, but never picked up Crysis 2 from all the crap I've heard from that. Maybe I'll take a look at this one if consensus shows me that it's good.

Considering this is supposed to release sometime in 2013, my guess is that EA is releasing this information as some sort of damage control from their recent events.

CryTek is the one thats actually talking about the game with everyone

EA isnt the developer, just a publisher.

Publishers have the right to tell you to not release info if they damn well please.
