Exorcet
Those Hornets had plenty of turn left in them. But I guess it was dangerous. In all seriousness, engine out, FOD, collision, etc. I have yet to see the Angels in person though.

Exorcet
Lots of planes on those carriers. The kind of stunning combination only PD could show us. If there's any plane I want to see doing a low flyby, it's this

Shirtless Crackhead
There was a Spanish pilot who did that to us while we were waiting for our plane to leave Afghanistan in Arena; it was pretty dope.

Exorcet
That's still a few years off, but the landing gear is still getting smashed plenty in the mean time
Shirtless Crackhead
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm ok with unmanned aerial vehicles.
Exorcet
As long as I don't have to program them, I'm OK with them too. Will make my job easier (if I ever get to work on a major fighter program in the future). But then again, unmanned F-22's are probably still a good ways off. But then again, again, systems like the F-35's DAS (360 degree sphere of vision) would make interesting combinations with AI flight and combat computers. Exorcet
Here's something you should check out Exorcet. That guy should check out newer generation SAM systems, and just about every other engineering project ever. The dominant planes we have won't last forever, and in fact they've already started falling out of the sky (F-15 longerons). The F-22 problem is an issue, but this is hardly something unique to the F-22. I'd also prefer that the issue be fixed instead pretending it's not there, or scrapping the F-22 fleet. He also takes the justification for the F-22 completely out of context. Yes, it was designed to fight the USSR, back in the 80's when the USSR was still a potential threat. We were supposed to get 750 of them, but due to the collapse of the USSR, that number dropped to less than 200, and further funding cuts deprived the plane of intended technology (that LM probably would have liked being payed for). The F-35B would have been a better subject for his video. I don't really think that plane is necessary, and it's development has been the roughest out of all JSF variants (the A and C are OK by me). Shirtless Crackhead
F-15's are falling out of the sky? There's something to be said for the sheer size and power of our airfleet; not to mention the general lack of a need for it.
