Minecraft is a first-person sandobx/adventure game with crappy graphics, but huuuuuuge environments of different kinds and such. you can build basically anything and they have a neat crafting system that uses a grid + materials. theres day and night cycles, with zombies during the night, theres animals you can kill for materials, theres massive labrynth mines, and tons of other crap.

every save file you create randomly generates a new map, so you never play on the same map twice. theres different climates too, such as deserts, snow, rocky mountains, plains, beaches, oceans, islands.... all that good stuff.

there is a single player version that was temporarily free (im not sure if it still is) and you get multiplayer with the paid version, which i think is like $5-10, not sure.

the game has a fair amount of depth and is pretty dynamic, while allowing a large amount of freedom and creativity, but at the same time, its fairly pointless, as there are no real objectives or goals other than those set by yourself.

(the site was down for the past 4-5 days due to too much popularity, but i think they fixed the problem)

this game is absolutely amazing. Probably the best 10 euros I've spent (that's about $13.50 in real money) for a while.

Anyway, here is my Treehouse of Solitude.

The first waterfall is my elevator. The second, smaller waterfall, is for the farm I built in the treetop.

I found a better set of cliffs and trees right next to my Fortress of Solitude, though it's not above the clouds like this one, but I'm probably going to stop working on this house since it's so far away (especially from any sand to make more glass) and work with the other one to make the Treefort of Solitude. I tried making a canal from my Fortress to here, but boating is kind of a crapshoot in a canal.

Hahaha, I got this shit too, fucking addictive.

Im working on building a cabin near the spawn point. built a road from it to my underground complex. which is complete with a lava room, spring, and an open air tower through the top of the mountain.

I'll need to get around to lighting up the caves sometime, to get rid of the mobs.

Check this fucking shit out.

That's fucking impressive.

that seriously is impressive, lol. i dont know what the hell it's exactly supposed to be, but it looked like that was JUST a processor that the kid made. and who knows how much shit he's got underground with connecting shit. im guessing he's got like at least a 10-20 block deep cave-type thing under that, where all that shit is organized haha. so thinking about that, and then the fact that he wants to add ram in, is just insane.

and i think the only reason i think this kid is awesome, is cause i just dont have the dedication to go full out on 1 thing. i guess you could say "he's seriously taking a 'sandbox game' to a totally different level", haha.

even though i have no idea what the fuck he was talking about like 75% of the time, i still think that was obnoxiously awesome haha.

------

just went back and watched it again, and shit. that was just a part of a processor lol. and the "lets do 2+1...it'll be crazy" made me laugh a bit :P

idk, some crazy shit haha. seems like he's just trying to learn how to put together shit like that anyway. he was talking about using a method from that book he mentioned, in his little processor thing. so idk, must be a really easy/quick way to learn that shit, cause he doesnt have to train with real shit, he can just use a thing that's like already magnified to a workable level, even though it can be a hassle to work with because it can get to big. but hey, cant have everything.

but that's definitely some cool shit :P and hes got a couple interesting favorites on his youtube channel too  like

, haha

Behind the waterfall is the entrance to my sanctuary. There's a passage that leads to the top of the mountain where I have saplings planted to grow into trees for wood.

Night view.

Here's a good look at the sky bridge I made to connect the two mountains.

Another view before I started adding waterfalls everywhere.

Waterfalls everywhere.

A ton of the land between the two mountains is flooded now. My base entrance is still really high up so the water falls for ages. I can't see when it ends in most places.

After I took these screenshots I put torches all along the sky bridge and added another waterfall to the main mountain. My plans are to trick out my house (it's just stone and dirt right now) and expand deeper into the cores of each mountain.

So after wandering around for a while (see: I got lost while I was looking for iron and had to hike all over the place for about four hours, real-time, trying to find my way back) I finally stumbled across some lava. I made a lava-fall on the outside of each mountain so I can see my base from far away at night. The nearest waterfall is coming off the roof of my new fort on the second mountain.

Here's a look at the beginnings of my orchard. I put the torches all around since it looks cool at night. You can also see a lava-fall meeting a waterfall.

This is my new fort on the second mountain. On the right, jutting out, is the observation deck. The sides and top are all glass with water flowing over the top. On the left is the second sky bridge I made. It's higher and narrower than the first so it's super sketchy (I fell off in the middle of making it and lost a bunch of stuff) but it makes commuting between mountains even easier. Plus it looks dope as fuck. It leads into the second floor of my fort where the observation deck is.

A view of the first sky bridge from the second one. Also, the entrance to my fort.

Better view of the fort entrance.

Inside the second floor observation deck/art gallery. The first floor is just storage right now. I want to get more paintings.

This is what happens when you try to play god and build a cannon off the side of your lookout tower. It used to be taller than the tree.

Nothing Fancy here, just a few pics of my work in progress. I'm kinda going for a old tomb look.

The entrance. Made it nessled away in the hill.

Here are the stairs that are right passed the entrance. A nice flow of water follows the path.

This is the next set of stairs going down to my waterfall doorway.

Heres a view from the other side.

http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af196/Bluedeath44/Tomb3.jpg

When I'm not working on this I'm busy digging through a cave full of lava for materials and removing a island thats too close to my spawn point and blocks my view.

Video made me laugh my ass off.

Heres my refined path way;

http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af196/Bluedeath44/Path.jpg

I like this much better than the previous one. Out of coal with all the sand I had to melt. Time to start digging again.

Pictures messy. Oh well. I'm to lazy to fix it.
