  1. 1st: [#13] Ranger 2nd: [#10] Orbital Rabbit 3rd: [#4] Deep Sea Fish I'm tired and no one really cares about this. AA is dope. Let's do this. Bombastic Looks great. Makes me think of some sort of patrol unit from some sort of dystopian desert city. I could've voted for this, but I went with the three that grabbed me the most at first because there's a lot of great bots in this division. Buoy We've got a floater! Guys, it's a floater! It's fine. Not sure why it's there, just like a real buoy. The Lightbringer Weird bot. Neat frame despite how mismatched everything seems. Cool weapon and booster pairings. I like how the paint is distributed, but not the way the colours are. Deep Sea Fish Rad looking bot that has some sort of alien/underwater vibe to it. Reminds me of a squid or something. I really like how the highlights pop. Fantastic colour use all around. RNGesus 2 First gen had an example of what happens when a random bot turns out alright. This gen doesn't. Renfred Looks mean and makes really good use of those legs. I dislike the arm choice, and with how close the competition is for me here, that's enough to keep it out of my top three. Deadline Great example of weapon to frame colour matching done right. I feel like the radar and how it transitions is what really sells it for me. I'd consider the legs a lazy choice if the details in the back didn't look so great with that colouring. Care Bear I feel like AA doesn't favour joke/themed bots, and that this one succeeds in spite of that. It's pretty great. Riposte To be honest this mostly looks like ass. There's a lot of individual elements I like, but the overall composition just doesn't work for me. The legs are the standout high point. Orbital Rabbit It looks so clean, and yet so dirty. I like the use of lighter colours and how everything is neatly tied together. I feel like maybe this and Lightbringer were made by the same person because the weapon/booster sets on both are great in the same way. Snow Blind It's a lot of one colour and I typically hate that, but something about this bot makes me like it. LS made the point that the left back unit is out of place, and I agree. Matt Murdock Again, a lot of one colour, but I still like it somehow. It's a better Daredevil than Ben Affleck. Ranger Of all the bots in this contest, I think the two that demonstrate the best use of weapon to frame colour matching are this and Deadline. I feel like this one does something completely different than what we've seen in even past contests, though, and that's really impressive considering how many bots there have been. More than just matching the colour, it's like it matches the gun itself, and I really like that gun. Very cool bot.
  2. 1st: [#13] Edelweiss II 2nd: [#5] Empyrean 3rd: [#1] Ruhm Ruhm The leg choice gives this bot a real solid stance, and the extra armour bits do a lot in helping give off the impression of a Valkyria Chronicles shocktrooper. The gun inspired the name and also matches up really well with the source material. Very solid bot. Chubby Buddy It's a pretty neat lookin' tank with simple but still nice looking paint. I might be biased though, since I like tanks and am CANADA. Pure-Pure Undine We saw an Undine last contest, and see another further up in this division. They all look good, but this one doesn't do as much for me as the others. I feel the frame isn't as cohesive, and the paint is more messy than exciting. Still solid. SIGNS UNAC D/02 I dunno how I feel about this bot. Either the core or the legs or the arms seem off, I'm not sure which, and the paint is well laid out but I'm not digging the palette. It's just okay to me. Empyrean This bot is like Unnamed was for me last time, though not as good. I really like its stance, and while the legs seem too small, they connect well and give it some personality. The paint seems pretty standard, but I like it. I feel like this bot just is really cohesive and I like it a lot. Rathian There's a lot of neat elements here, like the way the paint is distributed on the arms and guns, the emblem, and then just the frame choices in general. It's a bit too much green for me, but it's a themed bot and sometimes you just gotta go for it. Chubby Buddy No. R62 Manhattan It's got an oldschool vibe going on and looks pretty rad. I really dig the rusted look of the guns. Testify It's hard for me to criticize this bot since my big "complaint" is going to be that it lacks impact, but that's not really a bad thing. The frame is slick, and the paint is sleek. The highlights add some oomph. Using that much black paint, my personal preference would be for it to look really aggressive, and I'm just not getting that out of it. Chubby Buddy Seeing it three times isn't making it grow on me. Somehow I don't hate that paint. THUNDERDOME I feel like the paint could've been a bit gnarlier, but man, look at that frame. Shits about to go down. THUNDERDOME. Starstalker Undine I'm not sure if I like this as much as Rainia, but it's still pretty damn cool looking for the same reasons as that was. Edelweiss II Valkyria Chronicles is great, and I've already mentioned how much I like the look of tanks in this game. This one in particular does a really good job of looking more like a tank than a bot, especially the legs and arms. Combine that with the theme, and it's a pretty easy top pick for me. Brachydios Somehow the bot has a real stealthy vibe to it, especially down the middle. That's a great shade of purple on its own, and it happens to go along really well with the green. I don't know too much about the inspiration for it, but looking at pics has me thinking it's reaching for it in a few areas. Ignoring that, it's still a really cool looking robit.
  3. 1st: [#5] Cosmonaut 2nd: [#2] USS Revenge 3rd: [#1] Cassowary Dead last: [#3] White Supremacist Cassowary It looks neat and I'm a sucker for those legs apparently. There's only six bots here what am I to do. USS Revenge Originally, I thought this had the coolest frame and not much else going for it. The paint came across as kind of lazy even if it looked fine. I was informed that this is like a submarine and the paint really hit home for me, and I ended up appreciating the thought behind the frame and weapon choices more, too. White Supremacist Check your privilege. G6 Not quite fly like one. COSMONAUT I feel like USS Revenge has far better execution of an idea, and a better looking frame, but something about this bot just works for me. The colours are appropriate and fun, and the frame doesn't look like a bunch of perfectly matched parts but still manages to look good together. Barebones Even without seeing the front view straight on, I actually like this bot a lot. It's sleek and aggressive looking, and the pointyness of the guns really adds to that. The halloween colours and skull face on the core seem very appropriate, adding a touch of spooky to an already mean looking machine.
  4. 1st: [#7] Potato Tractor 2nd: [#15] Supercell 3rd: [#12] Oddball Alabaster It's weeb as shit but super clean. The frame is rad and I like that the urge to add more shit was resisted. The sea green or whatever the hell that colour is doesn't fit. The second pic is rad as all get up. Funfetti Frosting Junk food gives me a headache, and so does this. Tron It's actually pretty bad as a themed bot, and just okay as a regular bot. As far as being Tron related goes, the colours don't have enough pop, and there's simply too much going on. Solid frame choice overall, though I think there are other leg options that would have worked better. I like the radars and how they're incorporated to the paint on the arms. The Man of the Hour Not feeling the leg choice, but other than that the weapon/frame portion is cool. I'm not feeling those colours at all though. I mean, maybe I'd do that type of palette in my living room, but not on a bot. Botermelon It's really square and fruity and I dig it. Cool colour distribution all around. RWU Not feeling the head choice but the rest works. The paint is super simple but does a good job of letting certain details in the parts shine through. I like it but it probably won't stick with me. Potato Tractor Hahahahaha. What a cheap looking piece of shit. Pretty cool. Winters Parts of this really work for me. I like the way those legs transition to the core, and I'm almost always a fan of that head. Something about the extensions has me digging them, and the back weapons probably could have been incorporated really well. The arms and colouration just aren't for me. This is one of the more interesting bots in the division to me simply because I think there's some really cool ideas in there. Breaking Point I feel like there's enough good ideas here for two really sick bots, but that it's too much having them all shoved into one. As it is, I'm seeing the top half of the frame plus the GORGON and the extensions as part of one bot, and the legs plus the other weapons as part of another. It lacks cohesiveness for me. Resin It's neat enough. The way the legs and extensions play off of each other is the best part of the bot. The front tips of the legs work nicely with the back weapons, too. Lennokki That core/arm combo is rad I'm stealing that. W/E to the rest of the bot it's green looks fine good job. Oddball Looked kind of like a mess to me at first, but then I kind of got a heavy assault Tachikoma vibe from it and that works for me. Even without that, I was digging the paint and most of the frame, but probably would've criticized the head choice. Collateral 90% rad. Leg choice completely fucks it up for me. Whatever the reason they were chosen, they just aren't working for me. Man that top half is so good though. RNGesus 3 It almost worked. The frame is goofy but in a good way, and if it weren't for the colours I'd probably really like this. I'm happy that the RNG bots exist. Supercell Left arm gun aside, this bot is pretty damn cool. Great use of those legs. They're weird and kind of need to be designed around, but they also do a good job of avoiding the way LR parks hovers. Overall it makes me think of a futuristic racer, and it would fit really well in a more technologically advanced Mad Max setting.

    Gravity Rush 2

This is the game that's probably going to force my hand on a PS4. The original game (which, incidentally, is also coming to PS4) has its fair share of flaws (e.g. repetitive and clunky combat, the game is cut short) but is ultimately really fun. Gravity manipulation is just a really solid gameplay mechanic when it's done well, and it is in Gravity Rush. Gravity Rush 2 looks to at least try to address the combat problems, offering different gravity modes, what looks like more action options, and being natively designed for a controller. There's more info and another vid on the PS Blog post: http://blog.us.plays...america-on-ps4/
  6. 1st: [#3] Imagine It's A Crab... 2nd: [#12] Field Commander 3rd: [#4] Hazmat Noodle Here's my thoughts on your bots:
  7. I'm not making you do anything. I just told you not to make excuses. And here you are making more. @ Tim; I'll 'loose' you. Just tell me how bubbu.
  8. I can't give you what I haven't made yet.
  9. The deadline (November 30th) approaches! Make bots!
  10. http://i.imgur.com/Ghyi9nL.jpg THE HOG GOTTA GO FAST OBG REP!
  11. I think it just saves your progress. Can't find anything that says otherwise.
  12. Demo to go up Sept 22. First two dungeons. Perfect.
  13. Stream said no levels, just skills. I might look into trying a SaGa game down the line. For now I'm going to keep my eye on this though.
  14. So, does this flat out look like a SaGa game then? Outside of knowing the name, I don't know jack about the series. Might have to learn.
  15. It's an RPG made by some company called FuRyu. That doesn't mean much to me, but I guess there's quite a bit of experience in the group (dudes from Square Enix and Level-5). It's apparently a spiritual successor to the SaGa series. It's out in Japan, and a couple common things I've read about it are that it's hard and lacks in story. I'm okay with that. I guess they just send you on your merry way to do quests and explore, which sounds great to me. Here's a trailer and some gameplay from a stream ATLUS (NA publisher) did: I wanna try the combat system since I think it'll make or break this game for me (seems to be a lot of combat). They didn't cover much of the elemental attributes or formation options on the stream, so I'm not sure how much more depth it has beyond what they showed. Could be good. Oh yeah and I guess it's coming out next month (October) in NA. 2016 for EU.
  16. Yeah. They could be lying. Or wrong. Assholes!
  17. I don't know about its chances at online co-op, and even when it comes to co-op itself, I've only heard about a survival mode. The new trailer doesn't really show much, but having them commit to a release window instead of saying "we're aiming for..." is nice.
  18. New trailer. Shows off a little more stuff. Officially states Spring 2016 as the release window.

    Fallout 4

I wondered how bad it could really be so I watched it. He not only spoiled the cliffhanger he took an extra step. Masterful.
  24. I branch out into Minecraft. Terraria 1.3 HYPE. I've got a lot of things I want to do in MC world though and I haven't really even crafted a mine yet so I guess I'll have to balance both.
