  1. So I'm getting it ordered over amazon along with (hopefully) the component cables I need for my HD PVR. I was about to ask that, what you guys think of the shotguns! Raor, have you used them at all?
  2. I wonder when I'll be picking this up myself. After seeing everyone else complaining, it sounds like it may have had a poor launch with some bugs like BO1 did. Server problems causing lag (I imagine the problem is that they can't handle the amount of people online, BO1 had this very badly), broken party system, etc. It really doesn't surprise me, what matters is whether or not they'll fix what they can and how well they'll do it.
  3. I don't have the mission name and couldn't find out which one it was afterwards, but it was from Amarulyn Carnoirese in Mirilene. The objective of the mission was to attack these two transport ships or something. Here's a small part of the hilarious gamelog I found in my documents, though. I was wrong about one detail, they were actually frigates that were webbing/scrambling me, not cruisers, which that makes more sense now. The rest is just me targeting the scrambler and missing until I'm dead.
  4. I'm not stupid, I know I was getting jammed. I heard it. I saw the icon show up on the overview. I had a message pop up on the screen saying it while I was mashing the warp button. I was sitting there for minutes before they got through my shield, this wasn't a blistering fast panic where I could've made the mistake of not getting out of there if I had the chance. I'm not that horrifically bad at the game. I wouldn't have ever lost the ship anytime soon if I wasn't ambushed by something you said wasn't going to happen until L4, something that I EASILY could've avoided if I listened to myself and continued to play it safe. That is why I am pissed off. Whatever, though. That is my luck. Legit or not, I'm not going to bother with a petition because I don't believe I'll get my stuff back. I'm gonna work on my skills for BS for now, then get into another BC when nob starts playing again. I at least have enough money to pay for an equipped Cyclone after selling everything else I had (Except the Apotheosis), which is probably all I'll need until a Maelstrom.
  5. So, Niji. I stopped being a "chicken" and tried to solo an L3. I was warped into a gigantic group of frigates and two cruisers that immediately webbed and scrambled me, then got too close to hit with ACs. A few minutes later, I then flew back to Fricoure in a Reaper. With one unit of free Tritanium in the cargo, because the insurance company are nice people. Now I have no ship, I'm broke (Didn't insure the Hurricane), have no way of making decent money and need even MORE donations if I want to get somewhere in a reasonable amount of time. DMX was actually right about something for once, I'm probably going to ragequit this game pretty quickly. Bawk bawk bawk.
  6. Well, now I can answer your question as to whether or not me and nob use it with a no, since PSN doesn't even have that ridiculous feature. I didn't even know that existed, I thought you were referring to aim assist in chat.
  7. I have an equipped Stabber now, so I'm ready for L2 later tonight. Maybe I can support in L3, too! I should have BC skills within a couple of days, it won't be too long a wait for me now that I can actually do things.

    MUSASHI

I don't know whether or not this is light and energy efficient enough to actually benefit from stronger sides, but "excessive duration", for a build like this, is just about one of the dumbest things I've read since Raven's Pride. This is still a heavier build mostly geared towards defensive playstyles. I'm not going to go into detail with this because this should be extremely obvious. Application of boosters to heavier designs in general should be at this point, but no, most of you don't ever actually learn anything. It's why I am once again seeing heavy-mids with Schedar and no Aaliyah/B to insure that the build doesn't get smeared all over the floor by any kind of half-decent Auto-Sight abuser. You guys have fun with that, I think I'm done giving advice until AC5. I was in the midst of writing that heavyweight guide the past couple of weeks and stopped because my father passed away a few days ago. I'm just throwing it into the trash now, along with the rest of my thoughts that this game could ever reach a respectable level of competition. Waste of my goddamn time.

    MINOTAUR-2

This is one of the dozen reasons why Soldner-G9L is a piece of trash. You will never be able to come up with enough stability to support it's speed. It's useless. Other reverse-joints can get away with literally ignoring the stability stat because they can be quick with loads of energy to QB with, on top of the extra angles they can move to dodge weapons that can stun. Soldner defeats the purpose of building an RJ entirely. Cannot jump well at all, does not have very low drain (evident by the biped version having less, for some reason), cannot take advantage of the angles with it's slow speed (which is a million times worse here when you're running nothing but low output boosters for whatever reason), it is way up there with legs like Rigel in terms of contradiction. Needless to say, I think you wrecked your own build. I don't know where to begin on making those legs usable, I don't believe it to be possible.

    CENTAUR

Duskaror is known to cause wild amounts of lag, so avoid using it if you can. Anyway, either you should try changing the core to Ekhazar or the arms to Argyros. You usually don't want to throw on a random high PA part that kind of just sits there doing it's own thing. You want to stack it. Stack it or don't bother with it at all. CR-Lahire + Argyros/A looks funny, but it's surprisingly effective because of the arms brick solid defense for it's relatively low weight. It stacks PA, and the arms make up for the other low defenses. Your head part can also be changed to something with higher defense, especially because you're using Laura. I also don't think this current build is fast enough for what it's defenses are. You definitely need stronger boosters, and you probably should drop the generator to something light or go with a heavier frame. Your current speed / defense ratio for what you're going for is horrible. I know what you mean by wanting something balanced, but you ultimately want to be as synergetic as possible with your frame. You need to figure out the most efficient ways to protect your weaknesses, rather than make your entire design a weakness. Pretty harsh when I say it like that, but you'll probably understand what I mean.

    Dominate

Next person who suggests 047AN02 as a part to default to needs to get a vasectomy. When the frame of this build is changed to something decent, the general direction of the rest of it as-is isn't going to require stability from the head part nor the buffed lock range. If you make it heavier to where bazookas, shotguns and sniper cannons can actually pose a stun-lock threat, or if you need to deal with the recoil of using these weapons yourself, then you can worry about stability. Otherwise, it's not important. Take a higher base defense oriented part like Hilbert, Soldner, Argyros, etc. With lock range, only get enough of it for what your weapon sets actual effective ranges are. Dual rifles are not going to touch anything at ridiculous ranges like 800+, so there is no point in getting that lock in the first place. Apply this logic to every other weapon, what their purpose is and what their velocity is. Like the 049ANSC, it isn't going to be hitting anyone worth their salt (Mmm, salt.) at 1200+ ranges, rather than within somewhere around 900, depending on what your enemy is doing. The only time I see very high lock range as something worthwhile is when you're planning to lock through cover, and you generally have to go all-out with that strategy with either Laura or the 061AN05 accompanied by the 047AN02. Using the lock range to simply see your enemy at long range can be neat sometimes, but I later found out that using my eyeballs can accomplish the same thing without sacrificing certain aspects of the design for something useless. This is what building a competitive design would be about in the first place, losing the skill crutches and going for potential where you reasonably can. Even if we're going on to the extremes of taking garbage maps like Big Box into consideration, getting a strong radar would be the better way to go. Need to have some way to find those AP lead tanks, right? But this is why I don't consider Ranked as something competitive worthy, the maps can make certain common match-ups into rock, paper, scissors. It's horrible enough to where I'm surprised FROM didn't go all the way and put Cradles in there. Anyway, I'm starting to babble. I don't feel like touching on the entire mess of advice given so far, so that's all for now. When you update the original post with your decided revision, I'll see if I can take another poke at it. Oh, and welcome to ACU.
  12. You bet I will! It's a very long ways away, but I'm still so happy it's being done. Something to look forward to.
  13. It's really the installation part that takes forever for me, but I have no idea why it would do that.
  14. Did you buy all the DLC for the PS3, though? I'm not sure if you would if you already spent the money for the 360, but I noticed the community is split up so badly from the $45 of content. I deleted it a while ago and haven't bothered getting it back yet and since then, anyone above tenth prestige is almost rare and there are two, maybe three split screeners in every single match. It's hard to not find scrubby casuals running around like spastics with ballistic knives, etc. It was a little fun at first, but I've gotta sit down and download everything again if I ever get back into the game, which would probably take two hours for four gigs.

I changed the back booster to LB-Lahire and the head to Hilbert-G7H for 900-ish lock range. That should be alright, I don't like going beyond there because things are either too easy to dodge or just don't register.

    Nichijou

I've never needed back boosters to position myself if my sides were high output. They're there for the sake of energy efficiency for chaining Aaliyah/S, but I was already planning on going to LB-Lahire if I later found myself having excess energy I wasn't using. I guess I skipped out on that one part in the description because it really matters that little to me.

Frame/Internals: Head: HILBERT-G7H Core: EKHAZAR-CORE Arms: ARGYROS/A Legs: L01-TELLUS FCS: 063AN05 Generator: GN-LAHIRE Boosters: Main: CB-JUDITH Back: LB-LAHIRE Side: 03-AALIYAH/S OB: LINSTANT/O Weapons: RArm: 050ANSR LArm: LR04-AVIOR RBack: KAMAL LBack: MP-O601JC Shoulder: 061ANRM RHangar: - LHangar: - Tuning: Capacity: 0/50/50/0 Attack: 50/0/0/50 Acquisition: 50/0/0/0 Primal Armor: 0/42/0/0 Boost: 0/50/0/0 Special Boost: 0/0/50/0 Control: 0/0/0/50 Stabilizer: (+0, +1) Statistics: This design is built around the Tellus legs. They have three strengths which are AP, energy defense and low energy drain. Ekhazar-CORE stacks the AP and handles the stability with high AP / Speed ratio. Argyros/A stacks AP again, buffs Ekhazar's slightly lower than average defense while having the same trait of being fairly light weight for what it offers in terms of AP and defense, while also bringing the overall PA to a reasonable average. (Some PA tunes are used as well.) Soldner-G8H Hilbert-G7H adds a nice final touch of AP and defense, I prefer it over Hilbert-G7H here because I don't need the camera function and the lower drain goes well with the rest of the design. 063AN05 gives me instant missile locks, bearable lock size when using 050ANSR + LR04-Avior at mid-long ranges, and requires no tunes for radar refresh rate. GN-Lahire provides enough energy and keeps the weight down and when combined with Aaliyah/S, the build has some reasonable ability to dodge things. CB-Judith helps get it off the ground and goes well with the build since it's primarily based on defensive tactics with an AP lead. Linstant/O lets the build get to cover if it needs it, and can be used to close in on heavier designs or generally anything holding the AP lead and trying to turn the tables around with defensive tactics. I don't normally use weapon sets like this, but I felt really comfortable with it on this build. The missiles can poke, pressure and snap PA in half at multiple ranges, the sniper rifle is a stand-alone gun at long-range and seems to work well with the laser rifle if the enemy waddles around between mid and long-ranges. Even though I'm big on straight-forward weapon synergy, LR04-Avior + Kamal seems to poop all over most things getting into it's personal space. The weapons do their individual jobs well enough and still feels comfortable, especially with the rest of the set, so it's fine here. There's a noticeable blind spot on the sniper rifle and slug, but I can usually get around it easily. I guess that's it. Not a high-end build, but it's not too shabby for Tellus legs. I've also made similar ones with Hogire legs. I've been doing this because I love high AP but am getting just a little bit tired of GAN02-NSS-L. I also wanted to paint this so I could take a picture of it, but I got lazy at that point. Oh, well. Have at it.

    ARCH-3

I think this is slow and has a lot of excess energy. The generator probably needs to be Lahire / Judith, or you have to put on higher output boosters to make up for Aaliyah/G's fatness. I'm pretty sure this can handle both GN-Lahire with higher output boosters, though. The head part can be changed to something more defense oriented, like Hilbert or Soldner. Even Hogire would be nice for balanced stats and more AP. I don't see why not use the 063AN05 FCS, you don't need the extra lock range, none of the weapons on this design are going to do anything from that far away to begin with (MP-O901 could, but only if it had 061ANRM and/or long range gun support though!) and the couple hundred drain certainly isn't going to hinder this. High parallel processing and radar refresh, om nom nom. Like I've said many times before, this would also be a good design to use OB with. Try putting on Linstant/O if you'll make use of it.

    ARCH-3

Yup. Even if speed was an issue, I think the main booster could easily be bumped up to Aaliyah/M. Or scrap the idea altogether and try out Dearborn03 with the MP-O601JC. That would have better pressuring, better PA damage, will actually hit things, etc. The damage is going to add up quicker than putting so much into making Bigsioux hit, such as supporting it with something like Wheeling01 and/or jousting with OB.

    SOLIDUS-4

It was me suggesting the laser, but a bazooka would be perfectly fine. I really like the set because Kamal helps it a lot by breaking down PA since ER-O705 doesn't have much piercing (Nor does Kamal need help stripping PA, and does respectable damage itself before it does), and 051ANNR + ER-O705 is nice for when you can't level your altitude with some perma-flier or something. Then yes, the arms help give the gun a very crisp performance when it's actually close enough to hit reliably. If you do put a bazooka on, go for Soldner arms instead. They have enough weapon support and you'll get a nice increase in defense for less weight and drain. Take out the main QB tunes and put it into either vertical thrust (Like I said, you can't really get enough of this on a build like this), or into your leg stability. You can also split it up and put 30 into vertical thrust and 20 into stability, or something like that. More vertical thrust though, lets you get into the air easier and stay there, which means you would be using less energy for the majority of the movements you should be making. I would probably even take some points out of energy capacity for it.

    SOLIDUS-4

You are excruciatingly stupid. It doesn't matter which main booster you put on this, it's going to be moving forward at such a snail pace that it won't make use of it. What do you think this is going to catching up to, other very poorly built designs if Taurus actually chose to listen to your garbage advice? Closing any distance with a build like this is best done with OB. Your logic past this is "OH WELL THIS CAN HANDLE THE DRAIN SO WHY NOT", which brings that to be hands down some of the worst advice I've ever seen posted on this site so far. Judith allows for more QB chaining and vertical positioning which this can not have enough of, both are extremely important things to such a heavy build, one that is already so geared towards defensive play. Judith isn't good because of supposed energy problems (You know, words that you put into my mouth), it's good because it complements the whole build and how it's going to play out. The long range DPS of the weapon set doesn't matter because sniping is not a damage race. It might be to you since I can only imagine how garbage a pilot you are, but it isn't. I'm not even going to get into usage of cover and use of AP advantages to manipulate your opponent to even further avoid damage races at long range. Handguns do their job for their weight within the ranges of Kamal, while the extra weight is negligible when the design is already nearing max capacity. Blades are trash and are a 100% gimmick playstyle that rely on lag angle-warping to hit anyone with a shred of skill. So you said that the only hangar weapon that is actually worth anything is useless, then say the entirely useless blade weapon type isn't? Hands down, the most worthless advice ever seen given on this site. You're awful. Don't talk like you know anything; you don't.
  22. Fukei

    SOLIDUS-4

No it doesn't since it's a heavyweight and has adequate weaponry for long range. Energy efficiency and vertical thrust is what's ideal. Booster suggestions that would have made any sense would have been Lahire or Aaliyah for the back boosters, and Linstant/O. Also, Taurus, try putting a handgun in the hangar under the ER-O705 if you can fit it.

    Umbria

I would use Hilbert head and Ekhazar core, that would really push your AP and defenses up. What you would be losing is a little PA which isn't that important unless you're super stacking it, and your camera function which can be countered by just changing your FCS to Hogire. I don't think you should be running Judith sides on something like this, you should probably go Latona. Try out the 050ANSC too since this is a quad. You really, really do not need to be tuning firing stability and aim precision. Your arms already provide way more than beneficial amounts, and your only gun has the lowest recoil out of any of the rifles and the velocity of it is going to force you to be getting close enough to where the aim precision can be left alone. Use those points to help your stats from the FCS change, most notably your radar refresh. Then try tuning your energy capacity or maybe even your PA if you don't like the loss from the core change.
  24. Fukei

    BECOOL

Why do you have Ekhazar side boosters on? Schedar is way better and even then, that's not the ideal kind of booster you want on a heavier design. Holofernes is the way to go for this. You could also get away with a strong back booster, either Lahire or Aaliyah. You may also want to use the 047AN02 head so the SC isn't causing too much recoil. I also don't see why not use 063AN05 for your FCS. I'm not really sure if you should be having that hangared pulse shotty since it drains a lot and is so situational, but if you feel you can get away with it, go ahead.
  25. Both of the Yellowstone FCS are pretty bad, the high missile lock speed is pointless because the normal lock speed is low and missiles need to acquire a lock through the normal lock speed before the missile lock speed even does anything. Try out Hogire instead. I know you probably have that FCS for the lock range, but your missiles are pretty easily dealt with if you're throwing them around at long range without proper long range gun support anyway. What I don't like about this design is just that, it has no long range gun and it's boosters are set for defensive tactics. Try having a 051ANNR in your left hand, and place a Kapteyn under the Wheeling03. You should probably run Omnia for your FCS instead of my previous suggestion of Hogire if you do that. Also, if you don't need GA parts on this to be happy, try changing the legs to the NSS-L and the arms to Argyros. If you did that, you could use Rifle / Laser Rifle, could put on a stronger OB to help close in when a good opportunity arises, and cook some fantastic hotdogs with the 48728 AP that frame would bring you to with semi-aggressive mid-ish range tactics.
