  1. 3 things that come to mind as to ahy so: -Team vs Team ( or even battle royals ) means that 80% of the time, your target is too busy to be dodging other bullets to get out of your scope. Ok maybe you won't catch LW on Overed Boost unless he didn't see a sniper cannon shell in the nuts. But other weight classes? Especially with the EN regen-rate? I can only say you'd just have to be very patient about taking shots rather than worry about slowness of aiming. -the low ammo of the demo sniper cannon had me conclude it's more of a shoot and drop kind of thing... Like that Algebra back cannon/rpg. Shoot what you can at the start of the battle and drop once they close into your territory and start gunning. So basically you don't need to be a full time sniper with top notch accuracy.... Even if that'd be a spledid idea. -Zoom magnitude and bullet speed on those SC's are insane! Terrain would be a more annoying factor for snipers than the scope movement. You basically have to have the target in the circle and fire and you can almost guarantee a hit. I have to admit that I've been spending lots of time manually sniping and I might accidentally pick it up for ACV.... Which is scary since I never once played long range in AC.... Ever.
  2. That pile driver guy is talented.... I NEED TO MASTER THE ART OF BLADING AGAIN! It's not as bad as I thought after trying the demo, the slash range is somewhat wide but like that pile driver, you'd need some speed behind it to compensate for the lack of lung-tracking boost that got me used to.
  3. PSN: MoonWalker4 I'll post once I get my hands on ACV and spend 3 hours painting an AC.
  4. for those impatient like me, you can make a jp account and go downloading the ACV demo from their PS store. Online playing is available for the first two days only as far as I heard. Think it's out tomorrow or the day after, I haven't memorized the time.
  5. 25 days till it comes out in japan, I'm importing it of course. I'm hoping they don't push it back any further or it'll get into when my semester starts again.
  6. Truth be told, I ignored the Overed Weapons entirely for the simple reason that everyone will try to be "specialize" at them. Me on the other hand am more interested in those weapon settings/types I guess? One weapon that have different versions and stats. Then there's the Mercenary system which basically points out you can either be a Team member or Free lancer that gets paid to help with invasions/defense. Last but not least, we definitely need an international version of that Official Parrtnership website.
  7. Unless I'm wrong that last scene ( Men of Honor ) looks like the one where you "hire other players as mercenaries" for your team... Weren't we discussing something about free lancers few months ago? I guess we were too caught up with the team play and territories that we forgot all about it. That knee bash move is a neat feature, but so far it's only been used on MTs. Now if it's still applicable on ACs then man, those heavy weight ACs wouldn't be so handicapped against LW with close range/melee weapons.
  8. I went browsing to the old pictures of ACV and I remembered this: http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/298641_209732609090978_135940349803538_572322_592536703_n.jpg http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/309517_209732625757643_135940349803538_572323_193119299_n.jpg http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/308115_209732692424303_135940349803538_572325_686243668_n.jpg http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/295715_209732662424306_135940349803538_572324_651681827_n.jpg
  9. You had to remind me of the nightmares of going toe to toe with moonlight equipped ACs... Project Phantasma's arena was really a scary experience, the qual legged AC that was either nick named spider or scorpion ( can't remember no more ) which had a very dark paint scheme, scared the crap outta me when it abused the Moonlight's wave at rifle range. 2000~4000AP damage per wave, almost as bad as being hit with a grenade launcher.
  10. No clue but seeing the world map and how many dots there were in a single region kinda makes me think that it'd be sorta impossible to have control of the majority of the region to have your logo stand out on the bigger world map. BUT, if we are going to have that many members with ACV copies... might as well start forming like those old league teams or something. Edit: Or better yet, I was hoping we'd get something like ACOP ( Official Partner thing ). As far as I can figure out from the layout, it's more like our humble forums where people draft teammates but in a more classy and official looking way I guess.
  11. That's basically what I've trying to point out. No permanent radars means you can finally play hide and seek and actually sneak up on someone.... provided the operator doesn't blow your cover like they do in story missions. Of course this also means that if the defence team has a sniper/sniper cannon camping somewhere it'll be very hard to spot and take out before he wipes out the entire offense team. I wish missiles were a bit more dangerous/accurate than what I've seen in videos, and work at longer range, that way you'd have either a sniper support or a missile shower getting rid of invaders.... or both and let the defense turrets slow chew intruders to death.
  12. I'd recorgnize that name anywhere. Verashiden was Mr. 6th sense of Hi-laser weapons. How've you been? And DEFINATELY a game worth coming back to.... well honestly it doesn't matter to me if it turns out less or more than what I expected, I'm still going to have loads of fun just because it's Armored Core and I get to spend hours on a single AC.
  13. Man.......... I'm getting goosebumps like when an epic movie is about to start when you're sitting in a top class cinema. New AC frames ( new looks I mean ), New weapons, new AC defense and projectile concept, Territories, Teams up to 20 members, Hard hitting Turrets, EMBLEMS! CAN'T IGNORE EMBLEMS.... Only two months away, not that long a wait, not for me anyways. As for UI, I don't know if anyone notice the targeting circle, the lower corners have AP and EN gauges in case you need to keep track of them, otherwise you just rely on the AI's report. Having a clean screen is really something new to me and probably everyone here regarding AC fights, but I'm assuming it won't take long to get used to it and guess when your getting hit hard... especially if you tend to pilot a certain AC too often.
  14. In a sense I am asking for things like FLAMETHROWERS!!!!! or those energy shotguns and all sorts of crazy weapons that every Number ( era ) brings. Heck I'd go nuts for napalm guns! OR OR OR those AS missiles again... just... make them shoot LOTS of missiles at once. And I'm still demanding they bring back that twin rapid sonic beam thing ( back part from Master of Arena ) or atleast like single part version it as a pulse gun.... ENERGY MACHINE GUNS!!!!!. SEE WHAT I MEAN!? VARIETY!! Of course I would settle if weapons of same category have significant differences... like really significant like the difference between Marve and that BFF rifle.
  15. Been watching those videos for two days now ( repeating and limited time thanks to university life ) and my first thought was "THOSE MTs NEED TO DO MORE SERIOUS DAMAGE" Well fine, they are more durable than MTs in AC4~AC4A titles but still not as ones back in AC3 era ( heck even AC1 era gave me hard time killing MTs and put me in trouble when ACs jump in ) However, those defense turrets and emplacements are REALLY dishing out major damage once the target gets in range ( as far as the videos show ). Smart turret placement will most likely play a vital role in territory defense. The video where it showed two tank ACs vs a Mid/Light AC single handedly defending the base caught my attention the most for few reasons: -No Radar system on ACs whatsoever ( except the scan mode which basically is like a heat sensor but no where as effective as a 360 radar ) and numerous cover mean for once ACs can play hide and seek. Defensive pilots would have slight advantage over Offensive since they can basically track where their turrets are firing at. Offensive pilots would be too busy dodging incoming fire to scan around finding one lousy AC sneaking behind them, relying heavily on operator's scanning and directions. The bright side? 1-Don't need all the team members to defend an area, unless the other side comes fully prepared. 2-Defense ( replacement of escort ) Duty might actually sound fun for once. 3-Operator on defense might not be required unless pincer/sneak attacks are a threat. On another video where there are no defense ACs, the idea of having to destroy all turrets to occupy a territory brought up a very cheap defensive tactic which I'd guess some of you might've already figured out. -You don't need to risk sending ACs to intercept attackers if they take too long to take out defense targets. In other words, camping is going to be a major issue. Operators are going to have their hands full trying to find them while directing friendlies. Wow, I might not be even interested that much in knowing what's going on in story mode if every conquest and defense skirmish is going to have me playing chess everytime. I just hope there's enough weapon variety to mess around with.
  16. PS3 as always. Since I'll be importing as soon as possible, I intend to find a new area to specialize in AC. Blading's been fun since day one but where a Blader would fit in a territorial defense or control is still a mystery to me. Worse comes to worse I might end up as an operator with the limited play time I have. Speaking of which, any ideas if ACO and ACU will be cooperating on the race to claim territories ( we know that in most cases the East will outnumber the West even after the US release )
  17. Video Time Line: -14:20 Mock Mission/Invasion, Operator View ( again ) *Watch what happens at 16:00 mark. -19:57 World Map View. *Nothing special here tbh but atleast it's something different. -22:21 Garage Screen. *Preset Chat like in AC4 and AC4A but it seems now we can actually type. -25:37 Header says "Practice" -28:10 Another mission. *Looks more like a Battle Log/Replay. Interesting. -35:10 Team AC Fight. *Death in less than a minute. -41:10 MoonLight Blades. *Can't get any better than this. -43:43 Continuation of MoonLight Showcase. *I had a slight WTH moment here.... so did everyone watching. -45:30 Part 3 of Moonlight showcase. -53:05 Parts Showcase Then a run through some of the AC series Music which brought nostalgia until they killed some of them with their contribution.
  18. I'm on the same list. Besides, the bright side to having people like us.... umm, eager enough to buy ACV for that price is for you guys to sit back and get your questions answered, not to mention niji already planned we could go claim few lands/territories of our own until the rest of you lot decide to play. On the other hand, we get to rub it in your face about how epic it's gonna be.
  19. The plus side to not having a territory that can be easily defended against attack with an advantage ( 4 vs [x<3] ) is that all territories would be avaible to everyone new and old ( imo that's probably the best thing ever, and I'd hate to see one man territories ) Now that I think about it... They did say you'd be able to expand your territory and go on invading surrounding areas. Meaning we'd definately need more than a 5-man team to say... claim a region of our own? If that's the case then I'd have to drag in almost everyone I know that ever heard about AC, hahah. ( if of course they can afford a PS3/Xbox 360 ) Few things still ??? in my head are: -who places the turrets and units/MTs -will the invasion force and defending force "always" start the same place ( if so then the defending side always has an advantage ) -wonder if all those fancy and big guns will be available at the start and for free ( highly unlikely but never know ) -I have a feeling this'll turn into a typical MMO party/team mission with roles like "Damage Dealers/Tanks/etc." But in AC's sense, it'll be something like "Tanks ( offense )/ Snipers/ Close Combats/ Decoys/etc..?"
  20. I suppose the only thing that would be hard to do is manage a territory all the time since basically... anyone can launch a sneak attack if they're on a different time zone when most of the members are asleep. Unless of course, gun batteries are really a huge threat even for ACs this time where a lone defender or two can repel the attacks.
  21. Nevvest Intro/trailer vid of ACV. Much more exciting than the typical movie trailer-like videos vve've seen so far.
  22. there's another streaming coming up this thursday, niji. So basically vve knovv FROM is enjoying this midnight shovv vvith that singing-teethy-female host.
  23. I can't tell vvhat's vvorse, him spending over 2 hours to create an emblem/decal or me figuring out the emblem looks like Tifa from FF7. Other than that, looks like the emblem maker is a mix of Pre-AC4 and Post-AC4. layer system vvith full colors to choose much like in AC painting. Hopefully I don't see a rainbovv penis from any of the members that already decided to dravv them... Me on the other hand, I probably vvould be making one or tvvo cartoon characters and them some original stuff I made in AC4-4A. Unless I get inspired somehovv to make something nevv.
