Armored Core: Verdict Day Discussion
Aokiryu89 replied to The Fallen Raven's topic in AC News & General Discussion
The gang wars have already started. I somehow ended up on the high level player team and I have first hand knowledge of this. This is going to be the biggest free for all since the the ratification of Oklahoma. -

So the only real new knowledge based on that is that there are three of these tower ship thingies and each one is probably responsible for the rise of these groups. And that the team may have a choice in which specific region they focus on. I'm guessing that means their is no chance for a single team to rule the world map. -
This AC is mostly for Mercenary missions so I use sticky recon for scouter roles. Thanks I've been needing a viable design for the current game. I'll make this the new Hindrance.

It's definitely a ship -
Was Rengoku really any good? My brother said it was like power armor version of armored core.

I'll be interested when From announces a beta test for regions outside of Japan, otherwise it's just the same old shit they've been doing since I guess Demon's Souls or AC4. Whatever game that demanded players outside the dev team to work on beta. The main reason I don't really intend on getting anything this year is because of the possible next gen movement. I'd rather just buythe new system if it's going to come with games I know are decent already. -

I would hope so too but it looks like they are adding a bunch of tiny fixes which they always do with expansions which would mean that this is a full game. I mean I never heard of a DLC that included updates in the graphics and a design change in the user interface. If I got the money I'd buy it first day because I don't intend on buying any other games this year. DS and AC are the only series of games I play without passing out from apparent boredom. Seriously Mass Effect puts me to sleep faster than a roofied kid in a pedophile's home. -

That's what I was saying. From Software is pretty independent and at this point I don't even think I would blame Bamco for anything beyond their usual bull. And Pen I was having my doubts given that DLC would have been the replacement for that but I guess I didn't take all the fancy decorations they like to put on their expansions. -
Heck even the cover art says it all.http://www.examiner.com/images/blog/EXID6894/images/Dead_Space_box_art(1).jpghttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0c/Dead_Space_2_Box_Art.jpghttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/1a/Dead_Space_3_PC_game_cover.jpg/250px-Dead_Space_3_PC_game_cover.jpg

I'm pretty sure From planned on releaseing VD from the get go. Either because they knew that they would be constantly updating the game to fix issues that could on a whole be solved by getting rid of the obtuse armor states and allowing teams to meat in combat, or they just gave themselves enough leg room to strap on such and update. In the end I don't think any of this was a complete accident. From Software is as Sadistic as most Publishers though they obviously have less to work with financially. I was hoping they'd go on and bridge the gap in armor strength but the stats on one of the screenshots tells me otherwise. Having 3 armor and weapon types is cool but having that drastic difference in effectiveness is blatant ludicracrosity. -

I did come across a vid in which the finalists for some competition for AC4 were both tanks doing just that. That map with the big fuck off satellite arrays that couldn't be blown up. -

That's not entirely accurate. I believe I said this before, anything goes wrong with DSII it will because the overall team involved with the project was sleeping on the job while letting the new guys walk all over them. Including Miyazaki who still plays a supervisory role. Of course there is all the "creative licence they get but how far do you think they will let them go? -

You know the more I think about it. The more it looks like From Soft expected ACV to suck overseas so they go ahead and plot with BAMCO to make it so we don't get the full version that JP does. Not to mention make the Jap players suffer by making them play a game in which an armor is unrealisticly strong against X type while being more useless than tissue paper in the other weapon types. I remember in one of the few interviews with the From Soft staff they said specifically that they only made games that they would play and would never cater to the crowd. (News of Dark Souls II seems to contradict this but I doubt they are letting the new guys mess with it to the extent that it becomes a game the in house devs don't enjoy.) So they make everyone suffer with ACV and then prepare the real game AC: Verdict Day, fully functional without the vast differences in armor strength and open online without the locked regions. Even if they didn't plan on screwing up ACV I seriously doubt they did not intend to release Verdict Day from the beginning, at least since they came out with the V instead of 5. -

I was just watching a vid in which the guys were joking about how OP the mountains are in Battletech. -

I'm pretty sure that was aimed at Celtic, complaining about a maneuver in which a lighter and more nimble frame avoids getting ass raped by heavier slower frames by hiding behind a fuck ton of bricks/concrete/reinforced armor walls/ or geological masses. I've seen similar situations in Mechwarrior/ Battletech games where apparently it is considered dishonorable to kill a bipedal armored fortress in the most efficient way possible. By making it fall over and shooting it's fucking legs. -
They give me Last Raven's smoothness with the boost charge and boost drive of ACV I'll be happy.

Looks like they might have improved the graphics but the old screenshots look better than the actual game too so who knows. -

There's always the risk that they screw it up somehow, From Software isn't exactly infallible. Still Pen you can't be giving your hopes up just because one guy apparently was apart of a team responsible for your two favorite games.
