  1. See, but G84P has about 1000 OP on the G91. When I need the energy, I'll easily opt for that instead. I'd much sooner take that to the FUDOH, considering how badly it drags your speed down.
  2. YOUR COLON HAS NO REDZONE FROM ALL THE MAXING IT GETS. Anyhow, you obviously can't spend the entire match humping your redzone with a generator like this, but you just don't have to. Its OP/cap balance is sufficient enough for you to keep it fairly high and still be mobile enough. Heat might give you an issue, but really, it's a solid gen for the most part. For a little more weight than the G91 (it gets a noticeable cut from tuning weight as well), you get about 1000 more OP with respectable cap. G84P is underrated, if you ask me.
  3. I hear he likes dicks or something. Discuss G84P.
  4. Would you not have started singing after you took up smoking, though? Believe me, it has a very significant effect on your voice. It's less detrimental to some than others, but it definitely makes its mark. Both my bassist and my lead guitarist used to smoke (my lead guitarist still finds excuses to smoke on and off, and it drives me fucking insane), and both have noted what an impact it had on their singing when they quit. It's not just the lung capacity, it's projection and tonal clarity as well. I'm not saying "hey, you're a vocalist, quit smoking;" do whatever you do, man. However, if you really take your singing seriously, I'd suggest quitting or at least cutting back. About your range, I think you're a tad misinformed. Baritone/bass doesn't refer to your vocal range, it refers to your timbre. For instance, a male baritone can never be a tenor, just as a female contralto can never be a mezzo-soprano. I'd say it's more likely you're a baritone or even a low tenor, as bass is one of the least common vocal types. Hell, my voice is fairly deep and I'd still say I'm only a tenor, though I've never had any formal training to affirm that. No offense, by the way, but good falsetto is kind of negligible. It's pretty much as simple as just "go completely balls out and squeal at the top of your lungs," and odds are you'll have a convincing falsetto. While we're on the brag wagon, though (let's face it, everyone likes to flaunt what they've got a little bit here and there), I've got almost three full octaves of natural range and perfect natural vibrato. Shit yeah, two years of hard work in all its splendor.
  5. 1) The difference in heat on the G84P is negligible. It's a whopping 200 points more heat for 1000 more output (which is pretty substantial, given how low most people run their surplus EN in Last Raven). With a respectable cap of 30000, the G84P is a solid choice. As for the low redzone, man up. Last Raven is not like Silent Line; the redzone-riding ways of old are just that, the ways of old. It's a thing of the past, and is no longer called for in LR's metagame. 2) The difference in accel is barely even noticeable, especially given that the lower speed probably makes the two accel at roughly the same rate. I'd say the green booster theory is about the only one that makes sense, and I hope to christ that was not his reasoning. 3) I never said there was anything necessarily wrong with the KINNARA; I told him it would do in the blurb you quoted. I just said he should've gone up to the KARURA if it was manageable, which it looks to be. I am not Zephorius, you fucking stooge. Read my username. Do you see a Z anywhere in there? That you even managed to confuse the two of us perplexes me to no end, considering the guy posted absolutely nowhere in this thread. Son, you really have no idea who I am, do you? When someone like you tries to talk design logic with someone like me, "just because" is not even close to sufficient reasoning; I wouldn't even take that shit from a reputable player, so damned if I'm going to take it from you. Put on your big boy pants next time you want to contest me. Of course, one look at your avatar quite succinctly demonstrates why that'd be a bad call on your part. For a little more weight and drain, the only downside to the KARURA is slightly longer reload time (and really, what the hell is 15 points more from 115), for a little extra punch. If you can afford it, I see no reason not to use it. This isn't to say I expected credible design input from you or anything, though. ...Where the fuck did anyone even SAY flame bait? Really, you quoted no one on nothing and then saw fit to lecture them on it. This is like argumentative masturbation or something. Nevermind that Drake knows I give him shit on a regular basis all in good fun (I have nothing against him), what the hell business is it of yours to begin with? Get off my dick, kiddo. This does not concern you, and if you so choose to concern yourself with it, you're putting yourself at the mercy of my good graces. As it so happens, I don't really have any, and so we find ourselves presented with this little confrontation. Fascinating, innit? Alright, let me make this quite clear: 1) I'm not your friend, friend. Stow that shit. I'll have none of your patronizing bullshit, even with halfhearted execution. 2) I suppose your idea of originality is that shit-heap Jack-O Lite you have in your avatar, right? IT'S LIKE WE REALLY HAD TO MAKE JACK-O'S AC SUCK EVEN HARDER, GUYS. Nevermind how badly you just contradicted yourself in saying "lol being original as bad, P.S. your suggestions weren't original enough." To make such a generic build like this original would mean to reconstruct it altogether. I tried to lend him some more creative input within the limited spectrum of the design concept, but I'm not going to recommend him shit parts solely to be flashy either. I recommended him some less generic part choices for this setup to mix it up a little, but with the intention of retaining the build's original style. It goes without saying that a large part of what influences a design's premise is style (something unique to all of us), and I critique with that in mind. If I'm going to rate an AC, I'm going to do it right. Note that as I've already stated, there's nothing inherently wrong with the concept, I simply noted that it's markedly oversaturated. Builds like this were dime a dozen five years ago, when Last Raven first came out; if it wasn't original then, I think it's safe to say it isn't a fresh new concept at present. Thanks for coming out, though. It has been too long since I ripped into someone like this, and I can't help but feel that it was long overdue.
  6. Well, if I can ask, how do you think the DINGO2 differs from the COUGAR2 in handling? Do you know what influences it, if so? I trust your opinion, but I've really never noticed a difference myself. The COUGAR2 has always lended itself to underweighting just as well for me. Even then, I find the DINGO outclasses the DINGO2 purely because the latter, as I said, breaks like glass. The DINGO is basically just a slight downgrade for more reliability, as far as I'm concerned.
  7. ...Poor UN8. I tried so many times to make it work just to say I've done it, but there is no saving that shit. The VULTURE1 discussion was basically me dropping the ball; this was after I'd just gotten LRp, and having not played LR in years, I wasn't in the habit of tuning everything the minute I got it. Long story short, I had tuned my VULTURE1, but not VULTURE2, and I was comparing the stats on the two. I kept thinking "Wow, VULTURE1 actually has some potential," until I finally caught this. Yeah, I felt pretty dumb. Anyway, thanks for doing all of the testing on this. GULL and LOTUS has always been my mainstay; LOTUS is lighter than a majority of the generators, and that only serves to add to the speed boost from the GULL. Hell, even GULL/FUDOH is pretty nice if you can support it and you really need the juice. Do you think you could do BIRDIE1 next time you get the chance? I've been thinking of experimenting with that more in LRp, just for shits and giggles. BIRDIE2 might be neat just to cover all the bases as well.
  8. XFD, this. So hard. LEMUR is the closest we're ever going to get to a half-decent HW arm in Last Raven, you'd might as well just face it. Also, I vote we ban the SILKY. Shit's just menacing.
  9. XFD Are you kids for fucking real? This can't really be effortful design logic. Fixed. Right then, on to the dissection of this mess. Head | Core | Arms | Legs DRONE | C06US | A92X5 | COUGAR2 0/10/0/0/0 | 0/10/0/0/0 | 0/0/2/7/1 | 0/0/0/0/10 ...Do you really need to use this format for your part layout? Really? I suppose I'll just make do with this mess as best I can. DRONE Fine, I suppose, but you sure as shit aren't winning any awards for originality. U5 You know what's funny? I stopped for a minute to go "What the fuck, there's a US core in LR? Maybe it's one of the low-tier cores I never use and just forgot the name of." I then realized there is no US, and realized you had to be talking about the U5. Why the hell can you people not discern letters from numbers in an AC game? This was somewhat understandable in some of the older games (I'm looking at you, Silent Line), but how the hell can you even confuse the two with Last Raven's fontface? 92XS ..Why would you need this, at all? You don't need the weight, you don't need the energy and I can't say there's any other reason to use this. Nevermind that you're using an arm with 99 EN supply to no productive end, when you could easily be using the LANGUR or MACAQUE. If you really need the speed boost, run the FG. If not, you have my recommendations. COUGAR2 I can't say I have issue with this, but you're sure as shit not going to win any awards for originality either. Nevermind that you tuned for max weight on here, when tuning for weight offers a greater speed boost. I can't tell off-hand if you just tuned for weight out of necessity (though it certainly doesn't look like it), but even if that is the case, there are better options. If you're going to be clunky, you'd might as well go balls-out and get the S3 or COUGAR. Internal: Booster | FCS | Generator | Radiator VULTURE | MONJU | G91 | ANANDA 0/0/10/0 | N/A | 0/10/0 | 0/0/10 VULTURE Why, Drake? Why, oh why, the VULTURE? I can't even understand the logic behind this. The VULTURE seemed half decent to me at one point, when I noticed how high its accel was. ...I then realized I hadn't yet tuned my VULTURE2, thought "xfd wow, what a piece of shit" and summarily discharged it. LR sadly doesn't offer much in the way of booster creativity; if you aren't going to be cheesy as fuck and roll with the TP, it's pretty much a) use the GULL if it won't run too hot or use the VULTURE2 like all the other cool kids. At this point, correcting your booster choice ought to be like connecting the dots, or perhaps playing hangman with a two letter word. Go get 'em, tiger. MONJU I suppose I have no issue with this. I personally wouldn't use it with this sort of setup, given that your primary weapon has a special lock, but that's me and I suppose it's also your only gun. This is passable. G91 Originality? In Last Raven? NAWWW. I don't see why you wouldn't just man up and run with the G84P, if not LOTUS and GULL (it's not like you're stretching your EN supply thin on a frame like this), but I suppose there's nothing wrong with using the G91. The only downside I can see is that when all the other kids are picking people for their softball teams, you're probably going to get picked last. ANANDA I would comment on your having picked this, but it's a little like going "Oh hey big guy, you put a white sock on not only the LEFT foot, but also the RIGHT as well! Good on you!" I love how Last Raven took the Silent Line metagame, with its one viable generator and handful of viable radiators, and just flipped that shit on its ear. Weapons: R Arm | L Arm | R Hanger | L Hanger CR-WR98L | WLO6L84 | WRAITH | part name R Back | L Back | Extension | Inside none | KINNERA | FUNI | none 98L ...What is the practical appeal of using this with a blade, exactly? I'm trying to understand the point here. When the RS functions like the solid equivalent of the 98L and better accommodates both your frame and weapon layout, why was it not the obvious choice? LB4 Okay, really, you're killing me here. You have a hangar core and a hangar weapon. What was stopping you from throwing this underneath a quick-burn left arm weapon? The HP would be the obvious choice, especially given how gay it'd be with the RS or 98L, but it's not as though you don't have options here. GRIFFON burns quickly, or you could rock the PERYTON if you're feelin' rebellious. It's not as though your options are limited here, mind you, making this choice all the more confusing. KINNARA Would it kill you to get the names right? Anyway, I don't see why you didn't just go straight for the KARURA, but I guess this will do. Nine missiles are better than one, son. FUNI I have nothing creative to say about this part choice. Optional: AMINO | 069ES | O71EC | O79L+ | CODON | PRIMER | 98L, without the E+ optional parts? Get the fuck out. I suppose this will be negligible if you do opt for the RS, as you rightly should. Also, just to be a dick, I will rate this too. Paint: General: Base: 45/65/90 Aid: 20/20/53 Optional: 50/50/50 Detail: 200/112/0 Joint: 200/200/200 Teal, slate blue and grey? Why does your AC look like the lightshow at a really depressive rave or something? In all seriousness, this might be cool if you dropped the optional to black and threw a little more blue in the primary. I can't say the white guts are terribly appealing either, but you can't win 'em all. Weapon: Black but the CR-WR98L is white. This is like a really not-bold fashion statement or something. I'm sorry, it just had to be said. If you want to be flashy and dramatic with your paintschemes, it's the blade you mark in an off-color, not the gun everyone is going to notice already. OVERVIEW This design is unremarkable, I'm sorry to say. Other than a few particularly glaring flaws (all of which I feel I have addressed appropriately), there's just nothing exemplary about this build in the least. I had a build like this back in the day. Hell, I think everyone did before they came to the realization that it was boring as shit and promptly sidelined it. This design will work for you, but it will do little to set you apart from John Q. Jackass who just rented this game on a whim. OVERALL RATING ON THE TOTALLY RAD ALTAIROMETER: 6/10
  10. I'm pretty sure the Lost Field was non-canon. At best, if they really wanted to press it, I suppose From could argue that it's a facility similar to the Internecine in LR. Still, I don't see why the hell they'd do that.
  11. Really, I'm dicking around in the garage again on LRp, and I can't help but wonder what makes it so great. I can't remember if the stats ever changed between NX and LR (as NX was definitely where the DINGO2 saw the most use), but by the time of LR, it's pretty fucking mediocre. It breaks like glass, and the COUGAR2 trumps it in just about every way. For just barely more weight and drain, it has a noticeable defense boost for the same relative AP. I can remember everyone raving about this back in the day, and I just don't fucking get it. I understand that part breaking was not applicable to NX or 9B, but I also don't recall the stats on either leg changing after NX either (correct me if I'm wrong). Underweighted DINGO2 rocking the dual WYRM was the definitive cookie-cutter combo of that game, and I'm at a loss as to why. Unless you really need that 50 points of drain, the 100 points of weight and the whopping two points of turning speed, I'm thinking that DINGO2 vs. COUGAR2 should be a foregone conclusion. ...Then again, a majority of people also bitched about how NX-era killed lightweights, as if the faster mids didn't overshadow them in SL by an even larger margin. Exempting the inescapable gay of the HUESO, lights were utterly fucking obsolete in that game. IT'S LIKE WE'RE REALLY PRETENDING THE 066 LEGS DIDN'T EXIST, GUYS.
  12. I'd say defense is more important in anything, period. Anyone who saw a stacked light-heavy with the BOLD arms in SL could tell you that much. I admit it's less important in NX/LR, but high defense absolutely cleaves higher damage weapons. It's less of an issue with the rapid fire weapons, which will hit more consistently, but it's significantly harder to make every shot count with, say, the BP than it is with the NIX. The ideal build in any AC game, playstyle and weapon loadout pending, is to have just the right balance of speed and defense/AP, such that you can be light enough to play it evasive but fortified enough to shrug off a few hits. ...Of course, that still doesn't stop me from building with satisfying my neurotic need for high AP in mind. In my defense, it's easier to gauge how your AC is faring on the spot based on its remaining AP than it is by its def totals.
  13. This looks familiar, what's the source of this? And no, I don't smoke. I'm a vocalist, I can't afford to. Cigarettes have always disgusted me anyway, so I wouldn't smoke them even if I could. Weed and cigars I have no problem with (good cigars, anyway), but again, I can't smoke them. I'm pretty anal about my voice.
  14. Fuck. Yes. No one DIDN'T shit their pants the minute they saw Atma Weapon (Ultima Weapon for you sorry fags born in the nineties) and heard this play. Not only do you get that usual video game mentality where "Oh shit, this guy has DIFFERENT boss music, this is how you know he's totally going to wreck my shit," but the song just gives you an impending sense of you-are-fucked. God damn, nostalgia. While we're still on that kick... Greatest piece of music in a Final Fantasy game, period.
  15. I guess I could see Antares being that guy. If I can ask, what was your source for this?
  16. AC2AA doesn't do much in the way of plot development. It's basically a long series of little subplots, with some lasting the entire game and just unraveling very slowly. The only one that really stands out is Balena being (indirectly) revealed as the Indies' financial backing. They also unleash a Massive MT to wreck everyone's shit, but that's the closest that particular arc comes to resolution. I'm fairly certain there was some implication as to who Antares (the depressingly fucking underwhelming final boss) was as well, but beyond that, there isn't much to it. There's also a surprise appearance by a rogue mass produced Nineball unit from MoA, which is undoubtedly the coolest fucking moment in the whole game.
  17. The VE905 isn't even a whole hell of a lot lighter than the ROZ. When you can have more energy at next to no cost, why wouldn't you?
  18. MISTEYE -- Fine, I suppose. STO -- I don't see the point to this when the 008 would free up much better arm choices. EAS -- See above. I don't see why you couldn't fit the HADRO or MDD on here. KNOT MARE -- This is fine, but don't be afraid to drop down to GULL if you need to make room. SRA02 -- I'd truthfully just use WS-1 for what you do, but I guess this works. ROZ SA44 -- Remember what I said about the GULL? If you can, I'd find a way to squeeze at least the ICICLE on here. Perhaps consider dropping to the SKYEYE head. - R36 S40-1 LQ/15 HG-150 HGL-100 -- Why do you have this? You'd might as well just throw on a shotgun for what you're trying to do. S-SCR, E/SCR, STAB, TRN,CLPU -- I don't even know what most of the optionals are off-hand, but I really don't care. The first two are a given and the STAB/TRN don't hurt, so I guess this is fine. Anyway, there's not much else to say about this design. It's a typical run-of-the-mill quad from SL. It's viable, but you certainly aren't winning any points for originality. The LQ/15 and missiles routine on a quad is a dead, dead horse. It's somewhat understandable, considering quads can't fire cannons in the air (ergo, you're going to want to stick to single-shot weapons), but it really is done to death. That said, you made a workable design without being a hardcore metagaming faggot, no one is going to give you shit for that.
  19. XFD, this has got to be some kind of elaborate troll attempt.
  20. ...Oh my gentle jesus, what have you done here? I'm sorry, but I am in no mood to sugarcoat this. Someone needs to point out just what an awful design this is, quite desperately. Head: AALIYAH -- I really don't see why. There is nothing great about this head. Core: SOLUH -- What is even the point of this? The EKHAZAR puts it to shame. Arms: LAHIRE -- ...I... Why? Arm weight isn't going to detract too much from your overall boost speed, and you desperately need to make up the defense somewhere. Put on the TELLUS or HILBERT, they have higher EN supply and you need something to pick up your AP and defense. Legs: SOBRERO -- Something of a gimmicky leg part, but it can be made to work. FCS: INBLUE -- This isn't all bad. Of course, I'm sure you could've picked something better if, y'know, you used weapons that aren't altogether unsuited for one another. GEN: SOBRERO -- I really don't see why you wouldn't just use the JUDITH, but alright. MAIN Booster: VIRTUE!!! -- I, for one, do not share your enthusiasm. BACK Booster: LAHIRE[iT REGAINS ENERGY IN MID AIR IF YOU BOOST WITH IT!] -- Well that's just spectacular. SIDE Booster: LATONA --Fine. OB: LAHIRE -- Unless you plan on using OB heavily, RA: EB-0305 -- I personally think there are better choices among the blades. Granted, I think there are better choices not among the blades as well, so perhaps I shouldn't talk. RL: KAPTEYN -- Really? A railgun, really? Of all the weapons to compliment a blade, you had to pick this? BR: ACB-0710 -- Ah yes, additional boosters. That will save you when your combo of absolutely nothing but a railgun and blade renders you useless after forty shots and some hopeless flailing around on your part. BL: ^ LH: EB-0600s -- ...Why the hell are you using the lesser hangar blade? The other one, whose name escapes me (probably because ACFA is a trainwreck) is significantly better. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why you wouldn't just use that, I'm sure it could be made to fit. ...Really, where to begin? You have an AC with no defense, an unconventional booster layout and a weapon combo that is Ironsoul-bad. The only feasible way to make a hybrid blade/gun setup is to have a reliable back cannon over top of the blade, and you don't even have that much. A set of back boosters will do nothing for you; no amount of speed is going to save you from the fact that you have a drainy AC with no defense and two weapons that in no way compliment one another (not to mention serious ammo issues). I think it's high time you went back to the drawing board with this one.
  21. I'm willing to bet anything they're just cameo parts from Last Raven. Granted, I'd kill to see a few of those in AC5; LR had some damn pretty parts I'd like to see returning, and I imagine the posterboy's head would be one of them. I'm not sure how they're going to work that out, though. Isn't it a tad unfair if some have access to more parts than others? I wouldn't be surprised if they're just stat doubles, or if the new parts will be available as DLC somewhere down the road.
  22. ...I... Yes, that was kind of what I was insinuating. I said you should've bet against your country, rather than for it. You should've known shit was about to get real when Crosby ditched your country for awhile to play for his homeboys.
  23. Maybe you should've bet on our country instead of yours, then. That's what you get for being patriotic, homo.
  24. I would just like to take this opportunity to say that my country totally wrecked your country's shit. ...Actually, I honestly thought our team was going to suck failure this time around. The lineup was comprised of Crosby, Luongo, JAROOOME annnd some fags. I called it upfront; I took one look at the roster, laughed and thought "Whelp, I hope Crosby's got this one on his shoulders, or we're going to get our poop pushed in". I guess we had Neidermayer too, he and Jarome set Crosby up for the winning goal. Honestly, the only difference between our loss against the US team and our comeback victory was that Luongo was actually in net for more than five seconds. You can't press the offense with confidence unless you can count on your defense to keep you covered, and that is exactly why they went balls out this time. Fuck yeah Lu. That said, the whole pace of every game Canada did well in was "GUYS GUYS, GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY, CROSBY IS GONNA DO SOMETHING COOL".
