I'm partial to the UMP45 for styling on people, exclusively for the high penetration. Reminds me of the good old days in Call of Duty 4 when you could consistently wall-bang people with the AK-74u. How are you guys finding the new maps anyway? I have an Elite subscription but haven't been active on the game for over a month, Skyline looks a bit gimmicky from the limited footage I've seen. Rachis Posted February 24, 2012 Report Share Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) Pretty dumb to suggest the Scar as a top full auto rifle when it takes just as many bullets to kill as everything else and has one of the slower firing rates. M4 is really where it's at if you don't feel like running the G36 or ACR. Even then the M4 has a better bullet spread pattern than the G36 for most situations and fires faster. And I have no idea why the P90 isn't considered a "top" smg when it's mag is ridiculous. It has no problem beating people and then you get a fuckton of bullets to boot. I haven't used the M4 at all honestly, or pretty much any AR aside from the the SCAR, Type 95, G36c, and ACR. I have used the Mk14, but I don't list it along with the rest. I'll give you the lower RoF, but if you really cared about that you'd pick up the PP90 anyways. The P90 and MP7 match up to each other in practice pretty well. The MP7 tries to be a psuedo-mid range gun, but you're killing your power and wasting bullets firing outside of close. The numbers will put the MP7 over the P90, but in game it really doesn't make a big enough difference to launch it over the P90. The extra bullets are just too nice if you're not going to run sleight of hand. So to be fair I would say the P90 is more of a rushing gun and the MP7 is more geared for area of denial and should probably be run with sleight of hand. Don't get me wrong, I like the P90, I really do. I just don't think it stacks against the MP7. You can say the recoil doesn't matter, but it does, the MP7 can easily engage targets ADS, regardless of distance, the recoil on the P90 is negligible at close-range, but further out it becomes more and more of a problem. The MP7 also runs pretty damn well with extended mags, which gives it 60 rounds per magazine. Range isn't a horrible option, but needed 1-2 extra bullets over distance, doesn't present much of a problem for the MP7 due to it's non-existent recoil and decent fire rate. The P90 with kick has more recoil than the MP7 without, the MP7 also has virtually zero spread while ADS. The P90's only advantage is a couple extra bullets, which if that's the issue at hand, MP7 w/ Extended Mags runs amok on it. Granted you can slap on Silencer + Extended Mags on the P90, but it needs a higher ROF to remain competitive close up with the MP7 or worse, PP90M1 (which means rapid fire), it also needs range or kick to match the mid-to-long range capabilities of the MP7. I think the PP90M1 is tied with the MP7 for best SMG, just because of it's absolutely absurd TTK and hip-fire power. It doesn't fair too hot ADS by comparison to either the MP7 or P90, but with bursting it's not too shabby. Then next time I hop on MW3, I'll probably pull out the P90 again and see where it stands in my view by comparison to my normal PP90M1/MP7 favorites. I'll probably give the M4 a whirl too. Silencer + Rapid Fire in FFA is pretty absurd, it's absurd any which way, but it rapes FFA. I like Rapid Fire + X Mags for the added ammo.
