    Bloodborne

Even though I have not played it yet, one thing that bothers me about Bloodborne is that its assortment of weapons seems pretty limited. You could try and make the argument that they were going for quality over quantity with transforming weapons that fit multiple roles rather than multiple "clones" of the same weapon, but personally I don't see it as a necessary sacrifice in this case. Out of the handful of weapons available in Bloodborne a majority of these types were present in previous souls games just with much more variety and options to suit your preference both aesthetically and gameplay wise, let alone giving you more incentive for exploration. For example the Holy Blade in Bloodborne, you got your standard straight sword and greatsword in one, but in previous games you had a wide variety of options when it came to both straight swords and greatswords, why couldn't they do something similar with bloodborne? Why not make multiple variations of the Holy Blade concept with their own unique appearances and attributes? Same with Hunter Axe, you got your basic hand axe and then a halberd type alternate form, dks2 has 8 hand axes and 14 halberds, all with completely unique appearances and fair enough variety in statistics. I could do this with just about all of the weapons, you got the Bloodborne katana, but in dks2 you get 8 katanas to choose from. The quality vs quantity tradeoff just doesn't add up. The guns are a cool addition, although Bloodborne restricts your freedom to offhand weapons, cutting out that much more creativity. The game still looks great, the change in combat pace is something I'd be into and the visual direction is really well done, but I find the lack of options hard to ignore considering the fact that weapon variety is a main draw for me. Bloodborne kind of seems like everyone plays as the same dude running around.

How many builds can you squeeze out of Bloodborne?
  3. Super Metroid on emulator wasn't doing it for me so I had to repurchase a SNES and a copy of SM to once again get that feel.
  4. The balls in your court Nob
  5. Does this contain One-Ball fight???

I heard there's a rifle spear, that sounds like something I could get into.

    Bloodborne

I just gotta say it, Bloodborne looks fucking awesome and I'm really bummed I don't have a PS4 right now. Also lack of blocking is cool with me, I could probably count the total number of times I've actually blocked an attack in dks2 with my hands, I just prefer dodging cus it feels cool and keeps things moving. Although yeah if its effectiveness is op then it would lose its luster. That's cool regarding the music AC3 and SL are my two fav AC soundtracks. I've had cleric boss theme stuck in my head ever since I watched 90 stream fight last night, I love it.

    Dark Souls

I'll probably be rocking the PS3 exclusively for a little while longer, but I am excited for Bloodborne.

I've been thinking of starting a new character anyways, so I'm down for that. I'll do what I can to make that happen tonight. Also about summons, I enjoyed everything that had to do with Vengarl and Lucatiel. Just a couple things I can think of that dks2 has over dks1 are the face maker and the menu interface graphics, I spent hours in 2's face maker and could do great things with it, but I found 1's to be unintentionally humorous. That and the menus look really dated, like something designed for a 90's pc game. But that's just nitpicking when looking at the bigger picture.

    Dark Souls

Yeah I'm on PS3, that would be cool for sure, so far I've played with LS briefly and that was fun. I'm currently SL 27 just got done with undead parish pretty much. It also seems pretty active, I've almost been invaded more than during the entire time I've spent with Dark Souls 2... I'm really enjoying this level design, the way everything is seamlessly tied together is amazing, and the environments themselves look great and well detailed as well, great atmosphere. Too many rooms in Dark Souls 2 had not a lot going on.

Alright. I encountered my first invader, he showed up when I was in the Parish right before I enter the room with three rats. I hid around the corner where he has to walk that narrow strip that drops off the map, so I waited and kicked him off the edge of the map as he came around haha, he had some sick looking armor too. Apparently he opened the gate for me in the boar area that leads to a bonfire, I'll take it.

Okay now I need some dudes to play with, I can easily see why the coop would be better without even trying it first because no SM, coop in dks2 was my number one disappointment. PvP being better as well sounds cool.

Okay I will keep that in mind, I am assuming that has something to do with the boar !!! Maybe i make him ram that metal gate at the bottom of stairs hmm EDIT: omg I just stabbed him deep in the ass when he turned around dealing major damage, alright we are getting somewhere. Oh sweet Fang Boar helm.

    Dark Souls

Ok I am playing Dark Souls 1 for the first time now, Dark Souls 2 being the only one I have played (which I really enjoyed). I am excited because most everyone unanimously agrees that the game is much more superior over its sequel, from what I've gathered mainly in the PvE experience and world design, both are proving very true. I am in the undead parish and am getting rammed over and over by a metal boar. Game has many more unexpected roadblocks such as undead burg being the obvious of two location choices, black knights that kick your ass, dragon on bridge and now metal boar. Also poison lasts a long fucking time.
  15. AoE2 is so great, still looks more visually appealing than most games since too. I liked the way hunting for resources worked, seeing forests disappear was cool, and buildings were a little more to scale than other RTS games. Level editor was completely accessible to anyone and I had tons of fun with that. Also I feel like mentioning and adding to my honorable mentions Aliens vs Predator 2 for PC as having one of the most uniquely entertaining FPS multiplayers around. You could play as the Marine, Corporate, Predator or Alien, each race also having multiple variations to choose from. Each race was completely different from one another, yet still maintained a sense of balance. I preferred the "runner" alien, hiding in shadows and stalking prey really mattered in that game, getting the jump on someone and surviving multiple encounters back to back was not easy, it required intelligence and was highly rewarding.
  16. Parry can wait, your main priority is to face One-Ball Hustler Nob. You can include it in as if it were an actual ingame mission, plenty of room for roleplay.
  17. Yeah when are you gonna take on the legendary nob-ball and add it as a segment to your show?
  18. This game should be in my honorable mentions. Capek's zoo was great. "Hurry Parker! something is.. hungry." Also the multiplayer map with the two opposing multi-leveled fortress's was the best.
  19. This is what its all about! Also I have yet to play Journey, but it's something I should really get to. http://i.imgur.com/8zyt33B.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jcsyBDh.jpg
  20. My appreciation for it was cemented early on at a young age, I'm sure my perception of it would be much different than someone who first experienced it when they were older. You'd probably enjoy my novelization more. I want to know what it did for games though. Also yeah, plenty of games on here I have not played as well that I should check out. Also I've been wanting to play RE1 remake for forever, but never had a gamecube, but now they did the HD remaster so I guess I gotta get a PS4.
  21. I had access to both games at the same time when I was young, while I love them both, Ecco 2 was quicker to grab my attention for various reasons. While both feature great soundtracks, I definitely prefer the second games, it sounds more full and deep and features better sound quality, kicking things off strong right off the bat with the title screen track. The main thing though was the locations, I was always big on seeing new interesting locations and the second game really delivered in that regard, it didn't take long to see the good future, and by that point I was completely captivated. The evolved dolphins and sky tunnels, then leading to the Tubes of Medusa, butting heads with a giant jellyfish miles above sea level. Then there was the vortex future which completely captured the vibe that the world we knew was long gone. Those are some examples of things that helped secure it as the game I spent more time with and remember the most.
  22. Updated my list with write ups and honorable mentions, took some time and I kind of got carried away, but at least it was fun for me to reminisce and collect my thoughts. Remind me not to set myself up like this! Contains some personal stories that might be interesting. I played the hell out of driver 2, never played the first one though.
  23. I'm happy to see the response so far, keep em coming! I am currently working on write ups for mine which is taking time (trying to keep things brief), also I will probably address games at the end I knew I'd inevitably suddenly realize I left out and regret not mentioning at all. I'm just a little short on time atm. Also changed PS2 AC games to Armored Core Silent Line, that is the one I'd be most likely to go back and play.
