  1. My rank would go down, seemingly randomly, even if it had been hours since a failure. However, I stopped taking low ranking missions (Order Missions under 30, for example) and my rank never went down again, after that. I can't say if that's the reason or not, though. But, it seemed to have worked. And I totally agree with the last part. If I want to stay up on the runnings, I have to pick and choose. However, next season, I won't try for the leaderboards as much. On that note, can someone tell me what my rank is on the PS3 merc leaderboards? Last I knew, I was #8. I won't have the game again for a little while, so I'm not able to check for myself at the moment.
  2. ...Really? That's where we're going with this? lol
  3. I won't hold my breath. The only absolutes in this world are death and taxes.
  4. I'd be more than willing to help out. Using an API opens you up to a whole new world of Minecraft. There are a ridiculous amount of things you can do with it; things beyond the normal boundaries of the game. For some reason, Minecraft is something that I just can't seem to get away from completely. Be it as a player or as an administrator, I always end up going back to it and playing the hell out of it for a few months. I bought my account 2 years ago and I still play the hell out of it. lol.
  5. That would be fantastic. Probably explains why they stopped notifying us of the season reset.
  6. That's exactly the point I was trying to make. That happened to me quite often. I'd go on an invasion mission, the client would start the mission with just me and him (stupid move on his part) and then "EMERGENCY" and likely versus 4-5 players. Even if it's just mercs, two players will almost always fail. Faster if there's an operator. However, despite this, I'm still where I am. There were times where I'd lose rank, but I never once fell below C. And ever since I hit S rank, I've never fell below it. I'm not bragging, I lose 8/10 1v1 matches, but I am where I am. If I can do this, I don't see why it's so hard for others. If the Sortie timer doesn't start the moment you enter briefing, you're going to wait. There are two types of missions that do this AFAIK; Defense and Domination matches. If you see either of these, just leave before briefing starts. They take up a lot of time that could be spent on other missions. Not to mention, if someone leaves before you, it's 100% wasted time. The reason these take time is because both are focused on fighting enemy players. Other mission types focus on PvE with defense teams showing up if there are any waiting. Most efficient way to earn merc money, by far? Order Mission duels. With a good client, you can knock them out in under a minute (sometimes under 30 seconds). And if you're a good player, you'll net 80k-200k+ per mission. The only thing better is an invasion mission versus MoH. I'll soak up 400k-500k per mission from those. But, you can't guarantee you'll fight those all time. It's fairly rare that I see them. It's all about making wise choices with your missions. It goes without saying that you can't know if your client is retarded, but there are things you can do to minimize the occurrence of bad situations. It's just knowing what to look for.
  7. I had to return my copy of GameFly, so I haven't been able to check. Has the season finally reset, yet?
  8. I'm aware that their price isn't set in stone. When sold to another player, it's the buyer who sets the price. When a scroll is purchased from another player, that establishes an acceptable price. All other prices will fluctuate up or down from there. If a seller can't move a product, they have to lower their prices until deemed suitable by the consumer. Who is to say that gold farmers won't be on the look out for these trends and try to beat the competition? You fail to realize that gold farmers will be happy to turn any kind of profit, at all. And gold prices are determined by the amount of work it takes to collect enough currency to sell. If Chronoscrolls make it easier for legit players to get money, that means gold farmers will benefit from it, as well. They'll work the system like they always do. However, this just means it won't be as easy for them. Instead of making billions, they'll probably be making millions. It remains a profitable endeavor for them. They don't constantly change prices because this is a new concept. Give them time and they'll figure out a way to work the system. They're Asians; they do math.
  9. My previous post was slightly misinformed. When I had originally read that article when it was first posted, I had misread it to saying "Or trade them in for gold" instead of "trade them in the game with other players for gold." I had thought they were a way of bringing more money into circulation, like giving people a money printing press. If it were that way, it would ruin the economy. In reality, this won't create any sort of generalized inflation. My bad. However, I don't think this will work quite as well as En Masse thinks. In order to get a Chronoscroll, a player must spend real money; the intent would be to earn in-game money. In order to gain this in-game money, you need a buyer. Then, the seller must consider, "I paid 'X' amount of money for this scroll and I can earn 'Y' amount of gold from it. Are my returns worth what I paid to receive it?" What this will do is cause gold farmers to set their prices accordingly; "You can pay us less money to get the same or more in-game gold." Cheaper gold means more chances for business, but requires them to work harder in return to adjust for loss of sales. That is, assuming business doesn't pick up from easier accessibility. Unlike other businesses, RMTs don't have a physical product, with materials, that they have to pay to make. All they pay for is the man-hours used to accrue their intended product. Might I add that they don't pay their employees jack. They wouldn't bat an eye at forcing a higher quota for the same or less pay. Don't get me wrong, I don't support RMT. And I really hope this plan does succeed. My point is, if I can find a way around it, I'm sure all the RMT companies will too.
  10. I won't claim to be a good player, but I find it difficult to comprehend how people fall so far below C rank. No offense. I've had my share of troubles with several missions netting me a big fat -200k each, but I never fell below C rank and I'm currently ranked #8 on the leaderboards. @theSkullLeader Yes, that is correct. Both positive and negative amounts affect your score respectively. What kind of missions are you accepting?
  11. Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? Watched the demo, the story of this show seems kinda neat. Maybe I'll pick it up when it hits the under $20 bin in a month (if that).
  12. Let's hope it works. I like the idea, but the potential for a curve to offset the extra source of income is likely to happen. Otherwise, these things could cause a massive amount of inflation in the AH.
  13. Haha. I'm just trying to get as high as possible to see if there's some sort of reward. I won't try as hard, next season, if all the rankings are purely for bragging rights.

Talk about shallow reasons. But, I guess that's just the way of things. To reiterate, no, I'm not 12; I'm 24. On-Topic: I like to try a lot of beers, but most just taste awful to me. Samuel Smith and Lindeman's Lambi/Framboise are among my favorites. If those aren't available to me, I'll default to things like Blue Moon/Shock Top or many other pale (except IPA--WOW that stuff is bitter). However, I have a bad/good habit of trying any beer suggested to me. I'll try any beer, in search of the perfect one for me.
  15. Roger that. Since you don't use an API and it's just a time killer, then any suggestion I might have would be more work that you'd benefit from. Worth a shot. =P
  16. Yeah. Miko said he really enjoyed grouping with you. As for 1v1 tests, he likes to do free battles, but I stick to mercenary work. I'm about 30k away from being the rank #7 mercenary for the first season.
  17. Head: Beowulf HD103 Core: UCR-25 Arms: KT-4S2-2/Svir 2 Legs: Ortigara LG664 FCS: FCS-07/Lr Uzume Generator: UGN-71/Lw Booster: UBT-25/H Recon Unit: URD-36/ER L Arm Unit: Seidenbaum SR13 R Arm Unit: Seidenbaum SR13 Shoulder Unit: UCS-17/H R Bay Unit: Lotus BR429 L Bay Unit: ULR-22 Olympia For this build, I went with the best camera performance head, highest AP core, best firing stability for the arms, best maneuverability tetrapods, the right booster and generator for my playstyle, longest reach, tracking recon unit, maximum distance/damage sniper rifles, auto-attack gun for alerting me of enemy presence I may have otherwise not noticed, then a Lotus and Olympia for being able to attack on the other two damage tables. No particular reason for my choices with those two. Both have pretty good reach and serve their respective purposes. My primary focus is on my sniper rifles. I switch out when I notice my shots bouncing.
  18. Thank you for the clarification. Overall, this is good news, for me. My sniping range is already pretty ridiculous with my Seidenbaums. This could make things interesting if NA gets this patch.
  19. In reference to sniper rifles, what is "falloff?" Velocity degradation? With increased range, does this mean arching shots will be a necessity?
  20. A teammate of mine, Grafeit (Miko313), was telling me about you the other day. I recognized the name of your AC.
  21. I'll check that out. My two favorite "fucked up" shows are Deadman Wonderland and Another. Serial Experiments Lain was, also, fucked up... But that shit just hurt my head.
  22. I've been reading through this thread and it seems like this server could use some help if it's still active. If so, I have some questions. I may be of assistance. 1) Where/how is this server hosted? 2) Does this server use Bukkit or related API? 3) If yes to above, do you use server mods? Do you know how? Even if it's just something for you guys to fool around on, I can provide tips on how to give you a more secure environment. No more need for "Don't mess with my shit" disclaimers. lol I've been running a Minecraft server for quite some time. Currently, I have a dedicated server from which I host my own, public server. It functions in a specific way, but you guys are welcome to check it out. It's kinda dead at the moment, though. I've tried getting the word out, but my host specs are inferior to that of most other public servers. 2GB of RAM and a Xeon E5520. It can support 20-30 players, but that's about it. Also, it caters to competitive gameplay tastes, so not everyone will enjoy it. It's highly PvP oriented and players have a chance to lose territory through war, so you won't see a lot of pretty houses. About My Server: Players get together and form factions. Factions allow you to claim land that others cannot build or destroy on. However, Factions have a "Power Level." Claiming land takes power and player deaths take power away. If your power level goes below what you've spent, enemy factions can come in and start claiming land until your deficit is eliminated. You gain power by staying logged in. Factions gain an additional 10 to their maximum power for each player in the faction. So, if you have two players, you can have a maximum of 20 power for your faction to spend on land. If you claim 10 plots of land, then you have 10/20 power. Death results of loss of 4 power. Say Player 2 dies 3 times, that's 12 power lost. The Faction is now at a -2 deficit. An enemy faction can come in and claim up to two plots of your land from you, but no more unless they increase your deficit by continuing to kill your members. And enemy factions can only claim outermost plots; they can't just go for the center. Likewise, if you kill them enough to put them in a deficit, you can reclaim your lost territory. It's a huge PvP struggle with the potential for a lot of fun. I have a lot of economical solutions, as well. Player shops, actual currency, etc... If I had a more powerful host, I might be able to get more players. If you guys wanna check it out, the IP is : logon.keldraga.com The server is called "Project Keldraga." You're welcome to pass this info along. Make some factions, start some wars.
  23. The betas are every other weekend. And each weekend, there are a massive amount of beta keys going out. The sure-fire way to get in to the next beta is to put $5 down at GameStop and then get that money back if you don't like the game. I'm quite fond of it, personally. It's a breath of fresh air to the MMO genre. I bought a Korean account some months ago, I played in the Japanese open beta and I've been playing in the NA closed beta weekends. The game is a blast, but it suffers from all the same issues any ot other Korean-made MMO has. However, these shortcomings are easily ignored when combat is afoot. Both PvP and PvE are lots of fun. And since it's an action-based game, everything has a hitbox. If your attack does not actually make contact with the target, you will not deal damage. Likewise, if it doesn't hit you, you won't take damage. And each class has its own way of mitigating damage; some classes block and others dodge. I recommend giving the game a shot. If any of you do, hit me up! I'm on the Jagged Coast (PvP) server and my character's name is Koroshiya.
  24. O.o That seems a little off. I'm connected through a modem/router combo as is the friend who alternates colors. Are you sure it's related to connection type and not signal strength--- Wait, nevermind. I just realized my PS3 is on the DMZ+. But, that doesn't explain why my friend's color alternates. It's not a perfect trend, but it does change from time to time and only between disconnects. Any ideas?

lol. It's easy to necro-post on these forums, isn't it? I'm surprised such a thread died back in September. --Quick sidenote: I just farted and then my 5 week old daughter just out-farted me... I'm so proud of her!-- I like the idea of cider and cinnamon schnapps. Though, cider already has cinnamon in it, so it might be a touch too strong. I'll try it, regardless. As long as I don't use something like Aftershock, I should be fine. lol. That stuff tastes like cinnamon mouthwash. My two favorite drinks are Amaretto Sours (made with Disaronno) and Oatmeal Cookies (1 jigger each of Bailey's, Goldschlager, and butterscotch schnapps, served over rocks). I tend to lean towards drinks that genuinely taste good as opposed to that which gets you drunk the fastest.
