That post was gorgeously formatted and written. I'm surprised you didn't make it a seperate thread dedicated to working on that Sunny Day team. If you want to, just say so and I can split it for you. I absolutely love the quotes, too.

As for the team, I know very little about Pokemon, but I read the whole post. It sound like your team focuses on setting up Rhyperior and Exeggutor. I love that you're using Arcanine lead-in with Sunny Day/Solar Beam. Hahaha. That's what my half-ass team uses, though it's not even slightly refined like this one. I was trying to work off of Sunny Day, tho. All the new Pokemon/Moves/Items is just too time consuming for me to learn, haha.

CB Rhyperior is so much fun. I don't know the UU tier well. Use Scizor.

I don't know what to do with the teams I had that were using CM Latias. It was a great sweeper that was really difficult to take down once a calm mind was up. I'll have to think for a while on what can either fill its role or buff the rest of the team.

Leafeon (M) @ Salac Berry

Ability: Leaf Guard

EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd

Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

- Swords Dance

- Endure

- Leaf Blade

- Flail

This guy is so beastly haha. With the sun up you can switch in to common walls such as Chansey with impunity to Thunder Wave thanks to Leaf Guard, and set up a free Swords Dance. If they are 'smart' enough to bring out the likes of Moltres or something else that would KO it, Endure to make Flail a base 200 attack, activate the Salac Berry, and hopefully sweep. Priority users and solid physical walls such as Weezing are the bane of this set though.

WTF, Latias is uber again?

I don't find this a big deal as it's just one less pokemon I have to expect, but were other people really having problems with the thing? I found it annoying when the little bitch would Trick a scarf onto one of my walls, but really what was the big deal? I don't quite get it. Of course I don't really pay close enough attention to anything involving this stuff to understand--or even be aware of--any rhyme or reason behind the choices and decisions of the Pokemon D/P/P metagame gods.

And Salamence is a suspected uber (makes him sound like a traitor to the crown or something)? Well, that I kind of get, but I still don't necessarily support it. Salamence seems inconsistent to me, of course for some reason I don't really see him in PvP a lot and players on Shoddy are known for lacking brain cells.

The thing with Latias is that she is a whore. I stopped playing OU about the same time Latias really started to dominate, but from what I gather it was pretty much a combo of speed, power, bulk, and typing that made her overboard. Great resistances and special bulk make her a nightmare for a lot of the common sweepers to get past, while remaining an offensive threat. Dudes like Infernape were forced out each and every time, and switching in could be a nightmare. I didn't have too many issues with her in all honesty, since she is very one-dimensional; I'd pack a Snorlax with Pursuit and come out on top most times.

Salamence is the epitome of faggotry in OU as far as I am concerned.

If you play ladder enough you see tons of salamence. Or rather, you probably would. I know that when I used to play competitively I didn't really see all the problems people talked about in unranked, but on ranked, especially closer to the top all you'd ever see are the guys you're supposed to be most afraid of.

Ah, that probably explains it; I don't play ladder. I guess I find "casual-competitive" or whatever you would call it to be a lot more fun... it might be because I crush the brain-dead fuckers in that environment, or it might be because I've had the same balls-out-get-fucked-borderline-suicide-bomber main team for like three fucking years with what I'd estimate as an 85% win record (I think admitting to that is just inviting somebody to rape me into submission next time I play) and I'm WAY too lazy to change it/make a new one that I find myself able to enjoy or take seriously, which coupled with my willful and truly stunning ignorance towards damn near every facet of the pokemon metagame causes me to not give a flying fuck about anything that happens in-game, broken or not. That is brilliant.

Yeah I can understand not wanting to play ladder cuz you're just playing casual but it really is the most fun I've ever had in terms of playing pokemon. I'm a competitive guy though so that's probably why.

Casual play tends to um lose it's novelty fast for me. I have to devote myself to it or else I sorta just get bored? I dunno...it's weird how it works out but that's just how I am, I guess.

Fuck yeah Sunny Day!

I did make some stupid plays here though:

1. I, for the first time in God knows how long, did not pick up on Arcanine's ability. Usually when something like Arcanine or Hitmontop switches in, I check if they Intimidate or not. If I'd picked up on that, I wouldn't have fallen for the Toxicroak lure and gone for HP Rock.

2. Why the hell was I using Power Whip against Toxicroak? EQ KOs that sucker... must have been predicting a switch I guess... but to what?

3. Power Whip does more against Sceptile than Rock Slide! >_>

It's kinda limited. He has to have a focus sash and he absolutely can not switch in when there are entry hazards like stealth rock or spikes. However, if your prediction skills are good enough he can be pretty useful. I have him on one of my teams and it's kind of frustrating to deal with sometimes.

Vivi's team is pretty good, I swap for Dream Eater on Executor, used to be my favorite move in R/B/Y; if only he learned it back then we would have been a dominating force.

Dream Eater lets you swamp a narly hit (100 Base + 25% STAB + 30% for Life Orb and 50% damage as health returned, minus the 10% for the Life Orb) after Sleep Powder if they don't swap and you can make health back; which with Life Orb is very, very useful.

Sludge Bomb makes a nice alternative, but I'd rather have Sunny Day and use it off of Sleep Powder if my HP is more then 50%

I don't like the double Grass type sweepers for Sunny Day because if your facing a dude with say a Charizard, he'll fuck alot of your shit up (EQ for Rhyperior, Fire Blast for grasses, and Air Slash for everything else).

I'm thinking about really keeping Moltres as a lead, although I might also keep a 2nd lead (which seems to be a good tactic, basically have two leads you can lead into a setup with more then one set), I wish Crobat wasn't OU, guy is pretty buff.

Executor still rules though.

The problem with that logic is that 1) Sunny Day is active, and 2) so is stealth rocks.

Charizard would nearly be dead on the switch, and Sunny Day+chorophyll means he's fucked anyhow. Iirc correctly both of Viv's sweepers were chloro'd out.

There's also really not that many conditions under which Charizard could beat Rhyperior. Let's be honest here. That EQ is unSTABed and hitting a base 130 or 140 defense...against a rock type with 130 or 140 base attack who has no reason not to return fire. He's not hurting shit. He'll never get belly drum off either cuz of everpresent stealth rocks.

I dunno, I threw a new team together applying Bacardi 151 and UU or less rules.

Cloyster

Arcanine

Magneton

Exeggutor

Dugtrio

Scyther

I plan to scrap Scyther entirely and alter everything not Exeggutor.

Best way IMO is to run Exeggutor in with Heat Rock (4 HP, 252 SpA, 252 Spd, Modest Nature) swap in where you won't get OHKO, use Sleep Powder; either making a free turn or forcing a switch for you to use Sunny Day, then rape face with Dream Eater/Sleep Powder, Dream Eater also recovers damage taken at any point, and smokes alot of things.

I'm going to be looking into Weezing as a wall, Marowak as a replacement for Dugtrio, and something better then Magneton (although he does hold his own, just that type coverage is shit with Fire/Electric, might go Ice/Electric for the old school 151 coverage).

I might also give up on the 151 aspect so I can free up in the UU reigns, there's a few OU guys I'd love to have the abilities of, but whatever.

Also, I might accept a modified Bacardi 151 clause allowing non-original 151 evolutions of the original 151, provided they are UU and under; that works right?

Go figure, Pokemon getting MORE retarded.

I think they should have honestly with the last generation, picked out the good ones, scrapped the list and cut the whole mess down.

Perhaps they could consolidate about 300 pokes that make up a base for solid metagame, that would be pretty unconventional for them.

This Pokemon would look fantastic if not for those stupid, unnecessary stripes:

http://serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon7.jpg

I still think it looks okay, despite the stripes. Maybe I just like crocodiles and other reptiles. I don't know. His ability sounds cool, too (K.O. a Pokemon, raise his attack).

This Pokemon is straight up cool:

http://serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon3.jpg

Or perhaps I just like things that are stylistically steampunk.
