Even if we assume that somehow, the AC has the same missile and computing capacity, the plane has kinetic advantages to make better use of the missiles, aerodynamic efficiency to remain in combat longer (unless the AC simply doesn't move, but then it's a target, and even then the plane can refuel) while also carrying more weapons, is able to use stealth, and will be much faster. If you look up air based weapons, you'd notice that aircraft launched missiles are usually smaller than ground launched missiles, but at the same time have better range. This is because air launched missiles can borrow potential and kinetic energy from the aircraft. As far as intimidation goes, an easily toppled over robot is not scary. This post is short yes, but I'm trying to sleep. Also good job Fury, you've gone to college and doesn't afraid of anything. You should join the aerodynamic engineering side, we have planes with robots in them! As for the above post the plane has missle verity. what about the other forms of weapons. you can't mount all thous missles on the plane all at once.And where still comparing an AC to a PLANE!!?? Its not a plane!!! you dont compare a plane to a tank or to a missle silo There totaly different weapon systems. AC's would be tanks just with more then one main weapon. but honesty i know where your comming from why make a "giant robot" when it has little military value. the world today has no real use for an AC at this moment. but we never know some military guy may find some use for an AC in battle but AC will most likely start out as MT'sand if you know the lore behind all the AC games MT's where just construction robots to help with heavy lifting. a AC wouldent be militerized, at lest not till we get boosters like in the game. one practical aspect of an AC could be a mobale radar unit for hard to get to areas like caves and other suff. but you most likely have one of thoughs already dont you. UAV's So i conced an AC woudent be an AC it would be more like a super tankyou winbut lets just wait to see what kind of model BerserkFury has in the works(if he ever posts again) but for now let the dream live on. The BMPT is equipped with two 30mm cannons(850 rounds,HE and AT), four anti-tank missile launch tubes(130mm), two 30mm grenades launchers(600 rounds), and one general purpose MG with 2,000 rounds. It also has smoke grenades and reactive armor, and can have some of its weapons swapped out for various missions. It's like an AC, but realistic. And it's real.
