@The Talentless True, I am guilty of recycling character designs and modifying them, which can cause some confusion on series continuity when I have very similar characters across series due to spiritual succession, lol.

 

This was some work I did for a client a while back, did I ever post this? I should post more stuff from freelancing.

@Tank Top Legend True, he is awesome, I usually save him for mid way in the story due to how strong he is in the other series.

 

Thanks, it was for a client who wanted to put it on a shirt for his fitness center.

 

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this, but the elf guy is partly based on the Elf Archer units from Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness/The Dark Portal.

The hero version was a lady elf called Alleria, with some funny quotes. Since Elves are archers in there, I decided to change the weapon for Elves in the series, so that's why the female Elf with the Ninja is a mage, while the Elf guy with the goggles uses gloves and telekinesis.

 

There is a third elf, that is a wizard, that I keep forgetting to draw, but he's partners with the Oni Lady, and shorter than her for comedic purposes.

 

But yeah, been waiting years to draw elves, I kept delaying it due to how mainstream they are. I actually had like a mini story like from like 2007 that involves an Elf with goggles, but I drew it as something else.

the trick is not to care about whether something is mainstream or not because you cant be mainstream if your idea is original

 

its like how i made ACs back in the day: none of mine were unoriginal even tho I always tried to be as efficient and basic in design as possible, because noone thinks like me and noone plays like me

True, I should design without caring about that.

 

Anyways, I was suppose to add these two to that list of characters, but ran out of time. Basically, the Kappa girl gets the happy go lucky personality in this version. The gryphon is a relentless, justice seeking kind of guy. I don't want to spoil their role, it's major, but they are not one of the 5 main characters.

So even though it's comedy, it will have a few serious elements. I'm still trying to figure out how tall the gryphon will be. You can see in the two examples, he's much taller than the kappa girl, while in the second example, he's much shorter.

I agree, so the good thing about a new story, is being able to change the designs. So he will be shorter in this verison.

 

I got hired today for a job that pays $20 per hour, and since I still have freelancing on the side, I'll be able to pay off my debts quicker now.

Thanks, the masked bug is a thing among some bug sects, mostly a group from the Entomo Elite Guard.

 

It's been two weeks since I've drawn anything related to this, I have to finish this pic of a bunch of Knight units facing towards the Dragon units, which are all in the game minus the muscular variant of the basic green dragon.

Well, the fighting dragon guy is actually seperate from the other one, since he trained alongside him. Unlike him, he believes in dragons being aggressive and taking over stuff.

 

Still getting use to the new tablet, since I got to find the optimal settings, but even without having found yet, it's performing beyond anything I've ever used.

In any future game I make, I'll use this sheet to reference what and how these wars going on are fought. If I where to make a game about these, it would be an RTS. While the Dragons have only 10 types, and rely on their natural prowess and greater strength, knights rely on their ability to mix their 6 core units with various weaponry and steeds. The steeds allow them more mobility, sometimes at the cost of attack speed. Mixing weapons have different effects, but some weapons can't be given to some of the lower units, like the magic staff. The steeds are a hover scooter, which when paired with a pawn, makes them look goofish, while the hovercycle with the mean horse head is usually ridden by Elite Knights(That cool knight from a while back rides a regular motorcycle, with an angry horse head over the front wheel.) Using either the Hover wings or the Pegasus can turn any of them into an air unit. While the dragons all have 3 dedicated air units, all dragons can switch between air and ground, although in the air, their not as fast as their air warriors. The reason being able to switch from air to ground is important in this possible game is due to not being able to fire from behind a friendly unit if your on the same plane, so you would usually have a group shooting arrows in the air, while the melee units are on the ground so they aren't hit by the projectiles.

 

There are other groups, like the League of Greed, Entomo Empire(bug people), Brutes(an army composed of ogres, trolls, onis, and other similar types) and the gunslingers association, with standardized, mass produced units that are used to defend the various worlds. Any of the gunslinger characters I've shown are from this association, but are far above the average soldier, and can carry their own uniform and custom weaponry, instead of adhering to some unit type.

 

EDIT: Size comparison of the knights and dragons. The green dragon makes up the core of their forces and is the all rounder in dragon abilities, having equally good fire breathing and melee techniques. The others vary between being really good at either melee or fire breathing. The humanoid dragon is basically good at everything like the green dragon, but at far greater levels, thus it could be called an "Elite Dragon".

EDIT2: Pixie line art. Record time, 20 minutes. Getting lines that smooth would have taken way longer than that on any of my old tablets.

Not really, they are just part of the continuity of whatever future games I make. Like if I make another platformer, the enemies will be based on the dragon sheet, which alternatively, I could use for an RTS if I make one about the knights and dragons(but if I did, I'd include other factions, like the gunslinger association, L.O.G, and so on.)

@YMG Yeah. I just started work on a new 2d side scroller, which would be normal paced, rather than move at insane speeds.

 

@Dad I have a name for the new project, just trying to make sure I don't think of something better.

What line thickness is better, the medium thick in the gunslinger and pixies line art? Or the very thin lines in the Knight and Princess art?

I'm still working on the colors, the knight's hair might be white instead, and the princess's hair might be light purple to spiritually succeed previous princess roles. I may have to make them both a bit taller too, since the knight's height right now is about the same as the Pixie's above, making the Princess a super midget.
