Yeah and check your ego at the door if you have one. That's the single biggest problem people had when playing DS, especially people who played AC (and those types). Too full of themselves, couldn't handle losing all the time to everything and everyone, constantly bitching about balance and fairness and all the other garbage that game was not about. They don't adapt; they just get mad when their vision of the game isn't the reality of it.

Once you let the ego go, the game is insanely fun. You're gonna lose, and you're gonna lose big. You'll also probably be humiliated frequently. Just gotta ride it out, laugh at all the insanity, and add to the misery.

No, not exactly. In DS dying means you lost, as opposed to that game where dying only means you got a death counted against your kills. When you die in DS you lose all your money/xp and have to start the level over.

Also, pvp death in that game is far more humiliating because it's 1v1, 2v1, or 3v1, and when you die you have to watch your death. There's no respawn button. You have to suffer the humilation of watching them celebrate over your dead corpse. Owen and I have made an art out of that celebration.

It's more like...idk, baseball. If you're batting really well, you generally don't want to toot your own horn, because then every pitcher in the league is going to hit you with the ball. They don't give a fuck about showing you up, because the worst thing they could do is make it so you can never bat. In DS, noone (player or ai) gives a fuck if you're tooting your own horn, they're going to throw that ball at you anyways. You just have to accept this, and hope you can avoid getting nailed once in awhile, and maybe even secure a hit, somehow. That's why I mean you gotta check the ego early. From explicitly stated that this game is about cheating and being a dirty bastard, so you have to expect those things.

Basically, be ready to lose and laugh at how badly your corpse is being desecrated. If you wanna be oversensitive, don't play online. I can't imagine this will be a problem for you, though. Anyone with the true heart of a troll will understand this easily.

In case nobody has seen, here's part 1 to a 4 part series of E3 demo, that ends with boss fight.

From made the demo easy just for E3, as you can see the enemies are barely doing damage and the fire beacons are close together.

That live event should be tomorrow! Hope vod for it gets posted soon after.

Not too sure...might be a number of castings you have, like old school d&d, or maybe the items have a set number of uses on them before you have to renew it or buy a new one. Or maybe mana is there and they just had it disabled for the demo. idk.

The guy did say something about throwing lightning at the boss, but he never used it cuz he wanted to get in there and stab it to death.

Mike called it. In this game, the magic system seems to be a limited number of casting. You can even this in

, at the 3:03 mark or so. He's casting a spell, and once he does his spell count goes from 5 to 4. The number is right above the spell slot and next to the spell name.

Anywho, I noticed that the bars in this game (health and stamina) are sectioned off. I wonder if this was simply aesthetics, or if they're planning on doing something with that. Maybe something happens if you're in your last health bar or something. Or it could just be just for the demo, who knows?

Assuming Hollowing is turning into soul form from before, which is possible, it's dying when you're already dead.

Normally, your alive, but when you die you turn into a ghost, basically. When you die in ghost form you just die and revive back at your camp or whatever.
