Looks like the Winter Expansion stats have been leaked.

http://pastebin.com/TkY3rY6q

General info:

Dramiel nerfed

Motherships and Titans nerfed

Titans, MOMs, Dreads and Carriers lose the ability to carry normal drones.

Gallente get an agility and speed boost

Blasters get less capacitor needed and a tracking boost

Rails get less capacitor needed and a damage boost

Hybrids power and CPU requirements have been lowered

Tech 2 Long Range ammo looses its negative bonus, and goes from a 0.75 tracking multiplier to 1.25.

Tech 2 missiles lose their negative bonus too.

Destroyers lose their negative RoF bonus, and get HP buffs, Agility buffs, Capacitor buffs, signature radius buffs, and velocity buffs. Finally, Destroyers are useful.

Siege module's duration and consumption are halved.

Tech 2 Command Modules

Tech 2 Probe Launchers

Tech 2 Siege and Triage Modules (Holy fuck, these would cost a lot)

Tech 2 Drone Navigation, Link Augmentor and Omni Tracking Link. I will love these on my Rattlesnake.

Tech 2 Tractor beams

Tech 2 bomb launcher

Tech 2 Infini-point for HICs.

Tier 3 BC stats are in. Subject to change of course.

They all have 1/2 the HP of a Tier 1 battlecruiser, but are about 75% faster, and have half the signature radius. Speed tanks with hit and run tactics.

You are definitely free to join ACU corp, yah. We're gearing up to start some basic PvP in high sec and such soon, too. We're sorta inactive right now, but it should be picking up soon. Just send a request and I'll approve it whenever I see it. Chode is joining us, too. I've already sent him a buddy invite so he should be online in like 10-12 hours chugging away at EVE.

Btw, those patch notes are absolutely insane.

--------------------------------------------------

Anyway, I had a chat about EVE with KORTOK since he was interested in how things worked and it ended up being pretty huge and covering a lot of topics. I've decided to spoiler quote it here for reference in case people who want to know more about EVE care to learn about it.

Part 1:

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 2:40 am: what are battles like

[[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 2:40 am: O.O

[Niji] 2:47 am: Battles are only fun when you're in them.

[Niji] 2:47 am: Watching EVE fights is terrible.

[Niji] 2:47 am: It's like watching an ant hill.

[Niji] 2:47 am: I suppose it could be fun to some people, haha.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 2:47 am: but i mean does it involve tons of clicking different stuff to do different things

[Niji] 2:47 am: They're very messy and confusing and full of people not knowing where to go or what to do.

[Niji] 2:47 am: Uhhh, sorta.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 2:47 am: like mages in WoW

[Niji] 2:47 am: It's not very physically trying.

[Niji] 2:48 am: I mean it's not like you need StarCraft APM.

[Niji] 2:48 am: But it's definitely extremely technical.

[Niji] 2:48 am: Though you don't have to be.

[Niji] 2:48 am: You can autopilot it, but the gains from playing to the max are pretty huge.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 2:49 am: like older armored core?

[Niji] 2:51 am: Yah.

[Niji] 2:51 am: It's fine if you and your opponent are relatively equal in skill.

[Niji] 2:52 am: But if they're able to make use of better technique, even a small bit, they'll probably steamroll you.

[Niji] 2:52 am: If you're relatively average the games combat is pretty boring.

[Niji] 2:52 am: Click orbit, turn on guns, turn on armor repair, hope you don't die.

[Niji] 2:53 am: Just watch your ships spin around each other auto shooting each other.

[Niji] 2:53 am: It's much harder to actually manage range using manual piloting and constantly knowing when to manually activate your modules or overheat them, etc.

[Niji] 2:53 am: But the payoff is huge.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 2:56 am: is there cqb

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 2:56 am: i mean

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 2:57 am: cqc

[Niji] 3:02 am: Yah.

[Niji] 3:02 am: Frigates and Gallente ships specialize in it.

[Niji] 3:03 am: Minmatar ships do a sort of CQC kiting.

[Niji] 3:04 am: Mostly though, the CQC/CQB is left to frigates and Gallente ships.

[Niji] 3:04 am: I shoulda shown Chode the Sovereignty Map.

[Niji] 3:04 am: http://dl.eve-files....e/influence.png

[Niji] 3:04 am: Every dot is a star system you can fly around.

[Niji] 3:05 am: The ones with colors around them are player owned.

[Niji] 3:05 am: Corporation/Alliance owned, anyway.

[Niji] 3:05 am: The center is NPC owned space.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:09 am: the other black is null-sec?

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:10 am: (is kiting like a drive-by)

[Niji] 3:10 am: Drive-By and playing a sort of keep away.

[Niji] 3:11 am: Where you flitter right along the edge of your max range.

[Niji] 3:11 am: Assuming your max range is longer than theirs.

[Niji] 3:11 am: So you can hit them and they can't hit you.

[Niji] 3:11 am: Minmatar does both of those.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:11 am: oh because mg *and* artillery

[Niji] 3:11 am: Yup.

[Niji] 3:11 am: MG for up close and howitzers for far away.

[Niji] 3:12 am: Gallente are shotguns and railguns.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:12 am: gallente sounds like the navy

[Niji] 3:13 am: Sorta, yah.

[Niji] 3:13 am: Hahaha.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:13 am: idk what matar sounds like; ppl that just found guns and yelled moar dakka

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:14 am: dakkadakkadakka

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:14 am: oh i know, like halo brutes

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:14 am: loool

[Niji] 3:15 am: Actually.

[Niji] 3:15 am: That's what they are.

[Niji] 3:15 am: Hahahaha.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:15 am: whoa it really seems like halo now

[Niji] 3:15 am: Storywise as well.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:15 am: omg

[Niji] 3:15 am: They were slaves to the Amarr.

[Niji] 3:15 am: Then they rebelled.

[Niji] 3:16 am: Now they have their own nation, but it's heavily tribal and still mostly poor.

[Niji] 3:16 am: So they fly duct tape and rusted ships.

[Niji] 3:16 am: And use old age munitions.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:16 am: with 24" rims

[Niji] 3:16 am: MGs and Artillery don't use energy to shoot since they're just regular old bullets.

[Niji] 3:16 am: Yes.

[Niji] 3:16 am: Always the 24s.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:17 am: this game sounds too cool

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:18 am: i need to unfuck my fat computer

[Niji] 3:18 am: Haha.

[Niji] 3:19 am: That's just the combat and stuff, though.

[Niji] 3:19 am: EVE is known more for coups, con artistry, fraud, terrorrism, territory control, pirating, extortion, etc.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:20 am: i bet they also speak jive and hustle

[Niji] 3:20 am: Hahaha.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:29 am: if you ignore everything, couldn't you just be a pirate or do missions?

[Niji] 3:30 am: Uh, idk what you mean by ignore everything, but you can just run missions or just be a pirate.

[Niji] 3:30 am: Though just being a pirate is kinda hard.

[Niji] 3:30 am: Since you're blowing up players ships.

[Niji] 3:30 am: Hahaha.

[Niji] 3:30 am: They're bound to respond in force if they can.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:37 am: can they track you?

[Niji] 3:38 am: They can probably find you, yes.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:39 am: so it's best to be a trader? or a mercenary?

[Niji] 3:39 am: Nah, it's fine to be a pirate.

[Niji] 3:39 am: But you probably need a group.

[Niji] 3:39 am: Having a group to potentially back you up if someone fights back is a good way to go about things.

[Niji] 3:40 am: Like a gang or a mafia family style bit.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:40 am: C Street Families ololol

[Niji] 3:41 am: loooooool

Part 2:

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:42 am: how do ppl make money trading? like, where do they get goods?

[Niji] 3:42 am: Harvest it yourself.

[Niji] 3:42 am: Sell it.

[Niji] 3:42 am: Or kill NPC pirates.

[Niji] 3:42 am: And get paid by the NPC cops.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:42 am: ohhh

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:42 am: space cowboys!

[Niji] 3:42 am: Everything in EVE is made by players except for a few super rare items.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:43 am: :o

[Niji] 3:43 am: So most of the items and ships in the game are made by peeps.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:43 am: made?

[Niji] 3:43 am: Mine ore, extract planetary resources, etc.

[Niji] 3:43 am: Make items.

[Niji] 3:43 am: Yah, Industry.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:43 am: ships?

[Niji] 3:43 am: Yes.

[Niji] 3:43 am: All ships are made.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:43 am: whaaaat

[Niji] 3:44 am: Only ultra rares are dropped, really.

[Niji] 3:44 am: NPC ships also drop items for ships.

[Niji] 3:44 am: But they're typically trash.

[Niji] 3:44 am: Not that they go unused.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:44 am: does making a ship take time?

[Niji] 3:44 am: People either melt them down or use them.

[Niji] 3:44 am: Yes.

[Niji] 3:44 am: Everythign takes time in EVE.

[Niji] 3:44 am: You can only grind money and players in EVE.

[Niji] 3:44 am: Lemme check.

[Niji] 3:45 am: And I'll see how long it takes to make a basic frigate.

[Niji] 3:46 am: You need basic Industry skills trained, a bunch of resources, some money, and some time to make a Rifter.

[Niji] 3:46 am: So a basic Rifter blueprint will make you 1 Rifter in....

[Niji] 3:46 am: 1 hour, 40 minutes.

[Niji] 3:47 am: Costs about 150,000 ISK to make it (resources included) and roughly an hour and a half.

[Niji] 3:47 am: You can do things while you wait, though.

[Niji] 3:47 am: Since you rent out Industrial facilities to make things.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:48 am: wow

[Niji] 3:48 am: You rent a production slot in a facility for ISK, provide the blueprint, the resources, and then wait the alloted time.

[Niji] 3:48 am: This is one of the smallest ships.

[Niji] 3:48 am: Now for one of those ultra huge Titans that you saw in those pics earlier.

[Niji] 3:49 am: The blueprint costs 65.2 billion ISK alone.

[Niji] 3:49 am: Resources are roughly 15billion ISK on the market.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:49 am: can blueprints be reused

[Niji] 3:49 am: Skill requirements are kinda high.

[Niji] 3:49 am: But not too high.

[Niji] 3:49 am: You'd get the skilsl before the money for sure.

[Niji] 3:49 am: Yah, some can.

[Niji] 3:50 am: You can copy them, too.

[Niji] 3:50 am: If they're an original blueprint.

[Niji] 3:50 am: You can make as many copies as you want.

[Niji] 3:50 am: But those cost money to make.

[Niji] 3:50 am: Anyway, roughly 80 billion ISK total cost for resources/blueprint.

[Niji] 3:50 am: And build time is

[Niji] 3:50 am: 9 weeks

[Niji] 3:50 am: So a little over 2 months.

[Niji] 3:51 am: That's 200 months of game time.

[Niji] 3:51 am: And 2 months of build time.

[Niji] 3:51 am: For a single bigass ship.

[Niji] 3:51 am: And someone has to mine all the resources for it.

[Niji] 3:52 am: Only large corporations can afford to make Titans, though.

[Niji] 3:52 am: Industry and Market are the most powerful things in EVE.

[Niji] 3:52 am: They're fundamental to the enormous economy in the game.

[Niji] 3:53 am: And literally fuel basically everything in the game.

[Niji] 3:53 am: No Industry = No Ships/Equipment

[Niji] 3:53 am: 0 methods of getting Ships outside of player production.

[Niji] 3:53 am: You can get very low level equips from NPCs from missions, though.

[Niji] 3:53 am: Like WoW grey/white items.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 3:54 am: do people ever pay corporations to make ships?

[Niji] 3:54 am: Oh yah.

[Niji] 3:54 am: There are definitely Industrial corporations.

[Niji] 3:54 am: They mine asteroids, ice fields, gas clouds, and extract resources from planets themselves.

[Niji] 3:55 am: And then typically own their own station.

[Niji] 3:55 am: So they can manufacture at their own pace without renting out slots.

[Niji] 3:55 am: Manufacturing deals are pretty common.

[Niji] 3:55 am: War corporations will give them protection.

[Niji] 3:55 am: In trade for ships.

[Niji] 3:55 am: And the industrial players love it.

[Niji] 3:55 am: Cuz the players who like war break their ships faaaaaaaaaaaaast.

[Niji] 3:56 am: So there's always tons of demand.

[Niji] 3:56 am: NPCs are generally overridden and ignored in this game.

[Niji] 3:56 am: Weaker corporations, like us, and newer players are stuck in NPC Empire space.

[Niji] 3:57 am: In null security and low security space.

[Niji] 3:57 am: Those colored areas on that big map were all nullsec.

[Niji] 3:58 am: Major alliances like those tend to have numerous wings.

[Niji] 3:58 am: Industry, Market, Military, Leadership, Logistics, Transporation, etc.

[Niji] 3:58 am: There's no instant item movement in EVE.

[Niji] 3:58 am: Like mailboxes, etc.

[Niji] 3:59 am: Everything has to be shipped.

[Niji] 3:59 am: In space semis.

[Niji] 3:59 am: And space trains.

[Niji] 3:59 am: Etc.

[Niji] 3:59 am: Giant cargo ships piloted by players.

[Niji] 4:00 am: There's no police in nullsec and lowsec, either.

[Niji] 4:00 am: So those cargo ships are prime targets for pirating groups.

[Niji] 4:00 am: Which means that the Industrial groups need protection, transportation, etc, just to sell their products most of the time.

[Niji] 4:00 am: EVE is by far the most robust game I've ever played.

[Niji] 4:01 am: But it's not something I have time to play either.

[Niji] 4:01 am: So I'm pretty much stuck in high security/low security.

[Niji] 4:01 am: I still have fun with it, though.

[Niji] 4:01 am: And ACU is a bunch of pussies.

Part 3:

[Niji] 4:02 am: I was thinking about paying some pirates to suicide gank our own guys.

[Niji] 4:02 am: Just to get them moving.

[Niji] 4:02 am: Haha.

[Niji] 4:04 am: Here's a kind of generic view of things you can do in EVE.

[Niji] 4:04 am: http://swiftandbitter.com/eve/wtd/

[Niji] 4:04 am: It's not very detailed and definitely doesn't really do justice to how things work/interact, but it's good enough.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:07 am: wow haha, gank acu?

[Niji] 4:10 am: Yah.

[Niji] 4:10 am: Basically you can PvP anywhere.

[Niji] 4:10 am: But if it's high security space the NPC police (which are INSANELY OVERPOWERED) will show up and kill you for aggressive behavior.

[Niji] 4:11 am: In high sec they show up in roughly 5-10 seconds.

[Niji] 4:11 am: Which means you're typically safe, since most people aren't willing to risk losing their ship for nothing.

[Niji] 4:11 am: You always get blown up, too.

[Niji] 4:11 am: They lock the gates down on you and everything and chase you around.

[Niji] 4:11 am: Hahaha.

[Niji] 4:12 am: But there are groups of pirates and mercs who'll take payments to suicide gank people in high sec.

[Niji] 4:12 am: They'll kill them in 4 seconds or so somewhere.

[Niji] 4:12 am: And then get blown up by the popo.

[Niji] 4:12 am: Typically they'll charge enough to cover the ship loss and make some money.

[Niji] 4:13 am: Oh wait, no.

[Niji] 4:13 am: it's like 5 seconds in max security response time.

[Niji] 4:13 am: And like 30 seconds at lowest end of high sec.

[Niji] 4:13 am: No response at all in null/low.

[Niji] 4:13 am: Making null/low incredibly dangerous since anyone can just shoot your ass on sight.

[Niji] 4:14 am: The point is that there's no true safe place in EVE.

[Niji] 4:14 am: If someone is willing to lose their ship, they can kill you anywhere.

[Niji] 4:14 am: Unless you have a stupid fat tank.

[Niji] 4:14 am: Then it'd take a few suicidal people to get you.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:15 am: huh

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:16 am: spies seem cool

[Niji] 4:16 am: Spies are pretty crazy, haha.

[Niji] 4:16 am: They have immense dedication.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:17 am: how so

[Niji] 4:17 am: You pretend to be on someones side for months.

[Niji] 4:18 am: So they trust you enough to give you access to administrative chat channels or corporation storage.

[Niji] 4:18 am: Just so you can abuse it.

[Niji] 4:18 am: It's made the entire EVE universe very skeptical of people.

[Niji] 4:18 am: Hahaha.

[Niji] 4:19 am: Getting your corporations hangars robbed overnight and losing billions of ISK in ships/modules is pretty harsh.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:19 am: so, like the real world

[Niji] 4:19 am: Or having your wartime movements sold to opponents for ISK.

[Niji] 4:19 am: Yah.

[Niji] 4:19 am: EVE can be very harsh.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:19 am: that's hxc

[Niji] 4:20 am: CCP endorses piracy, scamming, fraud, etc.

[Niji] 4:20 am: They want people to do that.

[Niji] 4:20 am: People have set up banks in game and just run off with investory money.

[Niji] 4:20 am: Ponzi schemes.

[Niji] 4:20 am: Contract/Market scams.

[Niji] 4:21 am: I remember one corporation was overthrown in a beaurocratic coup.

[Niji] 4:22 am: 6 spies in the corp over time finally got enough trust to buy shares from the corporation.

[Niji] 4:22 am: In turn for the shares, the corp gets cash to invest in ships/stations, etc.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:23 am: whoa

[Niji] 4:23 am: You can force a vote that way.

[Niji] 4:23 am: If you're a shareholder you can use a game interface to call for a corporate vote for a new CEO.

[Niji] 4:23 am: Kicking out the old CEO.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:23 am: yeah, they only needed 51 lol that's overkill

[Niji] 4:23 am: So they all voted against him and took over.

[Niji] 4:23 am: Then took everything in teh corp, including the space they owned and gave it to their OG corporation.

[Niji] 4:24 am: Kicked everyone out and turned the station guns on them.

[Niji] 4:24 am: So when they logged in they couldn't leave the station or they'd die.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:24 am: whoa

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:24 am: dick move

[Niji] 4:24 am: Happens a lot.

[Niji] 4:25 am: Fraud is pretty huge.

[Niji] 4:25 am: Sometimes people just get enough power in the infiltrated corporation to get hangar access.

[Niji] 4:25 am: And then just take as much as they can before they're caught.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:26 am: how do they get power in a corporation?

[Niji] 4:26 am: Get friendly with the CEOs and directors.

[Niji] 4:26 am: If they like you enough and trust you they'll grant you higher ranks.

[Niji] 4:27 am: You gotta literally dupe people.

[Niji] 4:27 am: Hahaha.

[Niji] 4:27 am: Which is why it takes months and months and months to do it.

[Niji] 4:27 am: People don't trust people in EVE easily.

[Niji] 4:27 am: [KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:16 am: spies seem cool

[Niji] 4:16 am: Spies are pretty crazy, haha.

[Niji] 4:16 am: They have immense dedication.

[Niji] 4:27 am: That's why I said that.

[Niji] 4:27 am: loooooool

[Niji] 4:28 am: Months of making someone trust you and being friendly with them and helping them out.

[Niji] 4:28 am: Just so they say it's ok for you the stay the night in their house.

[Niji] 4:28 am: And then you rob them blind and murder them in their sleep if you can.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:28 am: ahahahahahaha that sounds so 3vil

[Niji] 4:29 am: And you decide on that before you even start to get to know them.

[Niji] 4:29 am: It is.

[Niji] 4:29 am: Hahahaha.

[Niji] 4:29 am: If you have the drive you can do all kinds of retarded shit in EVE, haha.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:35 am: acu probably doesn't have use for spies tho huh

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:36 am: but by definition is impervious :(

[Niji] 4:38 am: Hahaha.

[Niji] 4:38 am: Well, if the spy did corporation theft it'd be amazing.

[Niji] 4:38 am: Dumping billions of ISK in resources in our corp hangar from someone elses hard work is always nice

[Niji] 4:38 am: .

[Niji] 4:39 am: But it would take a lot of work for someone to really infiltrate someone elses corp like that.

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:42 am: is it possible to just infiltrate one part of a corp, like one battalion or something

[Niji] 4:45 am: Sure.

[Niji] 4:45 am: Corporations have directors.

[Niji] 4:46 am: Which lead different sections, have their own seperate hangar space, and can grant hangar/chat access rights to their underlings.

[Niji] 4:46 am: Corporations themselves can band together to form Alliances.

[Niji] 4:47 am: So you can have entire corporations acting as wings of a major organization with wings of its own.

[Niji] 4:47 am: Most of the major alliances function in that fashion.

[Niji] 4:47 am: A leadership corp, industry corp, military corp, etc, all form the alliance.

[Niji] 4:47 am: All under the same general name.

[Niji] 4:48 am: Assimilation of smaller corporations under specific wings is a normal way to grow your alliances power and scope.

[Niji] 4:50 am: And industrial corp, for example, might have a mining, ice harvesting, moon mining, planetary extraction, and gas collection divisions.

[Niji] 4:50 am: might have mining*

[KORTOKtheSTRONG] 4:51 am: haha, i bet a spy could remain covered with an "oops"

[Niji] 4:51 am: And then it could also have a manufacturing division for ships, and another for modules.

[Niji] 4:51 am: Haha, probably.

So after a bit of mulling it over, I have decided a Tengu might be worth getting for some PvE action.

Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node

Tengu Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer

Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir

Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay

Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst

Just a starting fit for now. Might spring for more expensive modules later. This is mostly meant to be against Serpentis with a speed tank with some buffer in case I get some spider drones on me.

Slapping Fury Missiles on there bumps damage up to 659, and signature radius to 206. Precisions go with 446 DPS and 465m/s.
